My £19.99 kettle. It's transparent and lights up blue as it boils. I've had it about 9 months now and it's still entertaining me.

I've got some supplements capsules in little glass jars on a shelf and they look so decorative. (Jars and supplements from Nothing Fishy).

I recently bought some socks from Lands' End. They are plain and nothing special to look at but they are lovely to wear.

Books. Recently read two fantastic novels: American Dirt, Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow

Luxury food. I recently went to a fancy butcher and bought some beef and made it into a casserole for DD1 and I.
She loved it.

Excellent for leftovers / overnight oats / pre-chipped veg - anything you want to put in a round bowl, small like breakfast or large like Pyrex and keep in the fridge for a day or two. I have two sizes and they so much better than cling film.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 01/04/2024 14:41

A lovely new glossy interiors magazine to sit and flip through and wonder why my house doesn't look like that.
A new toy for my dog to get ridiculously excited over
Some new plants for the garden, especially if there are some wonderful new planters to put them in
Long matches in a pretty box
A pot of hyacinths for the table
A big bag of feed for the bird feeder - doesn't directly give me joy but watching the birds eat it does!

VerlynWebbe · 01/04/2024 14:42

Spent £3 on 3 bunches of narcissi from Marks, stuck them in a big jug: wonderful.

The Purdy and Figg spray concentrates are about a fiver each, and all smell great. It doesn't last (unlike they try to tell you) but while you're doing chores it's delicious.

DAS air-dry clay is £4 or something like that and I am making little houses, which I'll paint white. Tiny ones. Very therapeutic!

WoodBurningStov · 01/04/2024 14:43

Flowers - fresh cut and also my bulbs I planted last year

M&S almond biscuits

M&S cheese bread

A bath when I'm cold and my knees are aching

Notebooks, opening a new one

NeverDropYourMooncup · 01/04/2024 14:44

The idiot cat was a bit of a bargain - a return train fare and a box of Felix pouches for the mum.

Other than that, a £2 reduced to clear Monstera from Waitrose, a £1.50 avocado that is now a small tree in the living room (and the fruit bit mashed on toast with bacon was rather lovely at the time), a £4.99 Sansiviera that's now six separate plants and a £3 bag of Turmeric root that's entertaining me with the long leaves some of the leftovers decided to grow.

Lavender14 · 01/04/2024 14:44
