Would you kill...?

Hello again

This is my 2nd crime related post of the night! Have been binge-watching stuff.

My questions are:

  1. is there anyone you would kill if you knew 100% you would get away with it? (If yes, would you want to do it yourself or via a hitman?) and

  2. would you accept say £1million but you knew that a random person you don't know would drop dead?

Bet I'm going to have some fcked up dreams tonight!

Thanks for any responses.

I bet they all vote Conservative.

I would never in a million years vote Tory.
There are one or two Tories on my list!!!

Atethehalloweenchocs · 31/03/2024 23:51
  1. Yes - there are a few international politicians at the moment who I think are really dangerous. But that has to be the standard - as much as there are UK politicians I desperately disagree with, that is not enough reason. it has to be people causing or threatening war or civil breakdown to get to the level of killing. Kind of like that 'Tales of the Unexpected' where she realizes she has gone back in time and is nanny for Adolf Hitler. It would have to be via hitman, I dont think I have it in me to actually kill someone.
  2. No. I cant think of any other reason to kill someone, directly or indirectly.
hattie43 · 31/03/2024 23:51

Nah not again

Partypoppers · 31/03/2024 23:54

1 Yes. I can think of several

2 Not unless it was more money. A million isn't enough to kill for in my opinion.

savethatkitty · 31/03/2024 23:55

Yes & yes.

If I could get away with it, I'd make certain people suffer a slow, agonizing death. I'd definitely do it myself.

DustyMaiden · 01/04/2024 00:00

In theory yes I can think of people I could kill. In reality probably not.

innocent people for money ,not enough money in the world,

Annielou67 · 01/04/2024 00:09

No to both because I believe (want to believe) that you reap what you sow.

And yet the parents of children waiting for transplants don't go around killing people to get organs.

I suspect that your ethics are shared by fewer people than you think.

That isn't proof of anything. I mean, what would those parents achieve by killing someone? They'd also need to be a surgeon, have access to an operating theatre where they could conduct an organ transplant without being detected, access to drugs and anaesthetic, absolutely loads of specialist equipment etc. The fact that this isn't happening regularly does not mean that parents of dying children would not kill someone if it could actually save their child.

LondonFox · 01/04/2024 08:40

bakewellbride · 31/03/2024 22:15

@LondonFox so any stranger? What about child you've never met?

Original goes "random person you don't know would drop dead?"
People, including children, die allover the world all the time. I would hope the one that dies for my million is old or terminally ill and go on about my day.
If post required a child to die I would rethink and 1mil would not be enough.
But I would not blindly say no to one billion. I'd have to think.
People do worse shit for much less.
For one bil my children would be set for life of very nice life. So I'd have to think.

hangingonfordearlife1 · 01/04/2024 10:43

yes- could quite easily kill a pedo or child abuser with my own bare hands
No-i couldn't live with that

TheFireflies · 01/04/2024 11:08

RottingInBed · 31/03/2024 22:03

I really am genuinely surprised that no-one would accept ONE MILLION POUNDS sitting right in front of them. Esp if no-one found out how you got it. Maybe responses would be different if say we were in the states and that money would pay for an operation for your child which they wouldn't otherwise get. And in that case, would it need to be lifesaving or just lifechanging....many ponderings!

I’ve watched The Box, I know how that goes. So no.

@Boombatty I think you should lighten up and smoke a joint/have a glass of wine/do a jigsaw or whatever lights your candle.

😃

@RickyGervaislovesdogs I LOVE RICKY GERVAIS! AND DOGS! Thanks, yes this is mostly lighthearted really given neither scenario are realistic.

In fact, it's folk who are cruel to animals where I could get VERY imaginative with my method of dispatch!

I'd help you.

StasisMom · 01/04/2024 12:20

1 yes
2 no but I'd ponder it for a while 😶.

StasisMom · 01/04/2024 12:23

RottingInBed · 31/03/2024 20:47

Honestly, I'm (pleasantly?) surprised that folk are turning down 1m for the sake of their conscience! Or is it because you are all rich af?!!

Here's another one - would you steal a kidney from a random in order to save your child? (But random would die)

3 yes definitely, assuming mine would be no good.

raspberryberet7 · 01/04/2024 12:26

Would kill paediphiles serial killers etc. wouldn't kill peoples I know for personal reasons if you know what I mean.

If it were totally random people no I wouldn't as couldn't live with the pain it would cause others and ending a life for money!

IncompleteSenten · 01/04/2024 12:27

Yes to both.

ArthurHeDoesAsHePleases · 01/04/2024 12:27

Yes
No

thecatneuterer · 01/04/2024 14:08
  1. absolutely. I've a huge list - how many can I have? However I wouldn't feel capable of doing it myself, and hitmen are surely expensive, so that would stop me.

  2. I like to think no, but I'm not completely sure.

whoputallofthatthere · 01/04/2024 14:31

No to both. No amount of money is worth taking somebody's life from them.
I know this thread is supposed to be light hearted, but I do wonder if people saying yes to 2. would still be on board if they were the one who had to die to make someone else richer!

CaspersMum24 · 01/04/2024 14:37
  1. Yes.
  2. No.
Universalsnail · 01/04/2024 14:37

Yes. Couldn't do it myself though.

And

Yes, although I feel upset with myself because of the last one but that amount could change my children's lives and we'll people die all the time so .. meh

PolarPandaBear · 01/04/2024 14:39

Yes to both

whoputallofthatthere · 01/04/2024 15:02

Saying "people die all the time" isn't the same as causing someone to die.

Eye opening thread!

BethDawn · 01/04/2024 15:06

Question 1, yes, as I know he is out there right now hurting women, and I know he won’t stop till he’s dead. He’s the only person I have met who I think is genuinely evil. He’s extremely good at hiding it to access victims.

Q2, no, of course not.
