Prok always went by Prokupatuscrakedatus I think, Curry was another poster.
I was Koala on that thread I think.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 22/04/2024 23:00

Thanks, Penguinsa. I'm on my 2nd piece of tuxedo cake and finishing the latte. Join me!
Havoc fell asleep. Baby used a surprising amount of strength to push toward me. Crawling is not far off!!!

bizzey · 23/04/2024 09:08

My new printer has arrived !!

Unfortunately,I have to wait for technical support assistance....

Not available till at least 11- 12pm ...

He has a day off college today and I doubt he will get out of bed before then 🤣🤣😁😁 !

I will do all the prep though and remove the old one from it position 😅😅.

HildaTablet · 23/04/2024 11:30

I was on that 2020 thread that’s in Classics, I realise, but under a different name.

I waited in all day yesterday for a promised delivery due to arrive by 1pm. It didn’t, and at 1, the tracking page suddenly disappeared and changed to 'all day delivery' instead of a timed slot. It never appeared and later that evening a message on the site claimed 'delivery was attempted' and 'a card was left'. Both lies as I was there the entire time.

I then looked up reviews of the delivery company and the majority replicate my experience exactly, so it looks like a feature, not a bug. They reach the giddy heights of 1.5 stars. It’s not looking good for the supposedly-rescheduled delivery today ☹️

Deathraystare · 23/04/2024 13:48

@Mumtobabyhavoc

That is good to know re talking therapies.

I like the sound of your lunch!

MissConductUS · 23/04/2024 14:08

That old thread is really interesting. DD had just started uni, and now, four years later, she's graduating soon (uni is four years in the US).

We've made some progress getting answers from those who didn't rely to their wedding invitations. DD is now thinking about her B list to fill some of the spots.

I saw Mr Duck this morning, and he gladly accepted some dry cat food. Normally, he isn't that keen on it. No sign of Mrs Duck.

I e started a new book and I love it

bizzey · 23/04/2024 22:27

I have had a shitty horrible day !

Phew !

I said it out loud
(sort of 😅...which I never do ... I always keep quiet !)

I always keeps my issues to myself as I have no one to bounce off .

I set new printer up with ink and plug .

Tested it out by photocopying something ...
Wow ...it was quick ! 😂 Page flew out !

Old printer would still be deciding whether to print or not. 😅😅.

ds was having a( MH ) issue so I couldn't ask him to help me with the online /WiFi stuff.

I will have more time to do it myself tomorrow.

Mam needs a new will written.

Nightmare !

Face to face range from ...£650 +VAT to £1250 + VAT ....and they were only the start from prices 😅😅...

I choked on my cup of tea on the first quote ...and literally burst out laughing on the 2nd quote !

I politely declined and said at this rate ,there wouldn't be anything to leave in her will 😅.

Mam not much help in ...well helping me really ....she just gets emotional 😔.

Ahhh...sorry ....

Ignore me and my little moment !

In a funny note...

ds said there was no shower gel in the bathroom...it had all run out (I don't use his radox shower stuff)

I had some Bayliss and Harding Tropical Orchid and Sweet Vanilla body wash on the table ...(gods know why !)

He refused !😅..

And I thought ...I bet @Penguinsa 's ds would have loved this xxxx
😁

Penguinsa · 23/04/2024 22:59

That seems very expensive for a will Bizzey I have never got mine signed but a couple of years ago mine was £150 from Coop. Wasn't face to face was over Teams or something like that. Some charities I think offer to do for free, think they normally want a donation and don't know how good they are. It would have been £400 if I had done a trust for DS but at that time it was fine but then shortly after it became a grey area so its just been left. There's a default arrangement for none though not sure what happens when its a single person - for a family where jointly own house I think house passes to other spouse then first £275k goes to DH/DW then rest goes to kids.

Yes my DS would have been happy with that orchid and vanilla bath foam, it would have been knocked over and sides sticking in and half gone though. Tonight he had a bath and for once did not knock over all the bottles and he had a cocktail of wild rose, orange and grapefruit, dragon fruit and lavender with orange and grapefruit shampoo and conditioner. Must smell like a florist. 😂Just been swimming, DH just went on his phone, traffic was really slow so we went a scenic route with lots of countryside, thatched house and fluffy cows. DH had no idea where he was but it was pretty. DH suddenly announced he knew where he was and said we will shortly be at x then 5 mins later or maybe we won't.

Glad wedding is getting sorted MissC

DD went to school again and think they are coming to a compromise on a holiday.

Cake and latte sounds great Havoc Would love to join you.

That's great you were on the 1st thread Hilda I saw Sprouts was too good we have people who have been on from very start. It's like a nice family.

Have some vaccines tomorrow, tetanus and typhoid I think, not had them since 2010. Black bin is out.

HildaTablet · 23/04/2024 23:08

My delivery still hasn’t arrived 🤯🤬

Rescheduled for tomorrow, apparently. I’ll be ringing the company who sent it in the morning to ask why they use a crappy useless delivery company who expect you to stay in for THREE DAYS STRAIGHT on the off-chance they might decide to deliver. Or then again, not.

MissConductUS · 23/04/2024 23:09

Weclome, @gocompare, and thanks for sharing your new book news. Can you tell us a bit about it?

bizzey, DH works in IT and always says that printers are the devil's work. Many people in the US use a software package called WillMaker to create wills and trusts and then have an attorney review them.

I have received some scar cream from Amazon to apply to my surgical scar. It's a lot more prominent than I anticipated. I may have to see a plastic surgeon about it, as it's rather noticeable on my neck.

bizzey · 23/04/2024 23:35

@Penguinsa interesting that you mentioned co -op.

They are 1 of my 2 finalists !

It is the online/telephone/video call that is putting us off.

The original Will makers will see us
f 2 f ...the other side of London...but hey ...it could be a fun.day out for me and mam 😂..

I am sure an interesting building that gives out refreshments that includes a brandy or wine could be found on our travels back to the other side of London ! 🤩😅😁🤣🤣.

We would have to get a cab there just for timing issues...but coming home could be buses which she prefers.

bizzey · 23/04/2024 23:42

On a very sad note.....

I think I have to concede that my tummy does not like white bread anymore 😔😔..

I stopped it for while ....then really missed my white bread toast ...

I am going to stop for a bit ...and see if I notice the difference.....now that I know what I m looking out for...before it gets worse .

Even worse news ...eerrrrr...
Chocolate might not be happy being digested by me either 😔

Thank god I have still got my cup of tea !😁😁😅🤩😍

bizzey · 24/04/2024 00:24

It is strange ....I don't like white bread as a sandwich....

Ohhh but white bread toasted with lots of butter and jam/marmalade 🤩

Mumtobabyhavoc · 24/04/2024 01:22

Bizzey, I think, once exchange rates are calculated, my mum paid about the same for her will. Maybe about $1000-$1200CAD.
Miss, which cream did you buy? Do you think they really work? I've got two new ones from mole removal.
Helena, it was weird, but I read one if your posts from a couple years ago and it didn't seem like that long ago as I remembered it. I think it was that you were watching dc play rugby, having a hot chocolate and contemplating a run.

Since I'm on the topic, it seems my first post was about mould having taken over my washing machine's gasket. The post about noticing how much the trees across the street have grown was after that.

Had baby to gp for 4-month check. Must book vaccinations.

Checking on some mia's:

@Pramodshahi @SpanielsMatter @Superlambaanana @SwordToFlamethrower

bizzey · 24/04/2024 01:44

Havoc..i wonder how old baby havoc #1 was when you first posted ? !

The £1000 mark is way too much for percentage of mam's assets.

We are hoping for a £150-250 type of thing.

Mam had a 3 bed semi to be split between 3 children.

3 named grandsons ..with fixed amount.

Named great niece with fixed amount.

No other properties/investments/overseas stuff/ pensions ( think they die with her ?🤔)

No complicated blended family/ step children or anything.

I think I understand the IHT situation now ...and we are below it ..
just !

Penguinsa · 24/04/2024 02:07

The co-op will thing was fine Bizzey its just I need to revise mine as things changed but they were excellent and good value.

Deathraystare · 24/04/2024 07:43

@bizzey

Oh wow Bizzey, you have had a shit time of it.

I was very grumpy yesterday afternoon. A mixture of delivery drivers with little English. They deliver food for the patients. They do not even understand me asking and miming "Have they paid?" . Then if I ask them if there is a code or they want a birth date for security reasons, they just look at me and when a staff member comes down to pick the pizza or burger they ask for a code..... That is if they even have a name and ward on it. I have to be Sherlock Holmes.

Everyone bangs on our window. The glass was removed as someone cracked it so we now have some perspex and some I dunno kind of wood stuff and everyone without fail knocks on it. I am right there!

So a quick heads up to anyone arranging a food delivery to someone in hospital - They will probably print your name on the receipt so ask them to write John Smith Ward X on the bag. Otherwise we are looking for your name on our list of patients!

There! I feel better now! But them I have just had 2 cups of tea! Hope @bizzey
that you are feeling more cheerful.

@bizzey

As for the white bread thing, I ate wholemeal or rye bread for years. I hated the seeded stuff, now I do not like wholemeal and prefer white bread. Nicer for toast!

@Penguinsa
That made me laugh about your husband knowing where he was and then not knowing. My late dad used to drive me around the New Forest area of Hampshire (in UK) and all of a sudden would go "Oh we seem to be lost!". Luckily the oil refinery at Fawley stuck out like a beacon (especially in Winter) so we always managed to get back to his house!!

Mumtobabyhavoc · 24/04/2024 16:08

I feel the need to weigh in on the best bread for toast/jam conversation...
It has to be brioche or challah. From a good bakery. And good strawberry jam, not too sweet. With tea, of course.
No debate, really.

Havoc is in the living room singing the Clean-up song from playschool:
Clean up, clean up, everybody do you your share.
Looks like I won't be getting another hour of sleep that I was hoping for.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 24/04/2024 17:01

And have now got: Brioche buns warmed in the oven, one with jam and the other with PB&J. Latte with cinnamon in my favourite, and now chipped, mug.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 24/04/2024 17:32

I've topped up my coffee and have moved on to a warm cinnamon raisin bagel with butter. 😋
Havoc just peeked down my top and said, "Oh, boobies." Then, "Oh, bagel" and took a bite of my bagel and ran off. 🤦‍♀️

IWanderedLonely · 24/04/2024 20:31

I try not to eat too much bread, but I am partial to a doorstop of homemade white as toast with marmalade on and when feeling really low I could live on crisp butties made with cheese & onion crisps, butter and Warburtons white bread. (I try to do low-carb, honestly Grin)

sproutsandparsnips · 24/04/2024 22:34

Ooh I didn't realise I'd been here since the first thread. It's been a great comfort through everything!
My dad is still doing ok - no danger now but a few set backs.
Went to watch our team straight from work this evening - lost in cup final but enjoyable game.
Bizzey we have a new printer but even whizz kid DS can't get my laptop to connect to it.....
DeathrayStare do patients order takeaways often?
Miss hope you can sort the scar without surgery.

sproutsandparsnips · 24/04/2024 22:35

And I love thick slices malted brown bread for toast before work. Then I gave soup or salad for lunch.

mathanxiety · 25/04/2024 06:07

I had a busy weekend, with both DS and DD2 visiting. They've both left now. It's nice not to have to wait for the bathroom, but I miss them all the same.
