AAAAARGH! The number of people that put beef in shepherds Pie!!!! It is called Shepherds Pie because Shepherds 'shepherd' sheep/lambs! Only yesterday I was looking through recipes by Martha Stewart and her Shepherds pie contained....beef! The comments were lively with someone saying why does it matter (wtf??) but another saying Martha Stewart should know!

Sorry if I have sent you all scurrying behind the sofa until the nasty person had gone but I feel quite strongly about this!!!!! I also feel bad that this is a nice cosy place to post and that I have now ruined it!

Wow you all seem to be very busy and active. Makes me tired just reading your comments and I have had to sit down! To be fair I am at work and usually sit down! I have so much to do at home and just don't get on with it. I do realise if I was a wife and/or Mother I would need to do a lot more! I take my hat off to you all.

Death, I've just done a bit of googling. My guess is the subbing of beef originated from availability.
I went on a bit of a journey reading about the dish and then sauces and it's now going on for 4:00am...🤦‍♀️

DS2 (17) passed his driving test today, first time. So chuffed for him - a big boost for his self esteem.

And I found a perfect pair of new jeans. Happy day x 2!

My dull news for today is that I made a turkey risotto in the slow cooker (last of the Christmas turkey )and homemade bread with my granddaughter (6) for tea tonight. DH had made rocky road for pudding so everyone went home full to bursting.
I may have added courgette, ignoring DH's dislike of them.😉

I also get cottage and shepherds pie mixed up Havoc which is really silly as is shepherd and sheep.

Went swimming today, my membership ended last month but DH has rejoined and they let him have old price and gave him guest passes and I was free today without a guest pass and also got a free Starbucks coffee with vanilla. DD is still on Easter holidays and preparing for A level exams which start mid May and go to 20 June.

I also got a toilet roll holder for the downstairs bathroom about 2 or 3 years ago which is still on DHs list of things he's doing "tomorrow".

Took Havoc up local mtn to play in the snow today. Hill closes on Sunday for the season. We've got our lowest snowpack in 50 years news says and watering restrictions will begin next month.

I brought the bags to Goodwill, took a look through the store, tried on a pair of sandals but decided against them, and went to the pet store looking for a cone for Dcat who has managed to give herself a cut on her ear and keeps on scratching it. They only had dog cones so I'll have to keep looking. Dcat will hate having one.

Then I did DD3's taxes. It took less time than I had expected.
