Our solar eclipse has just started. Has this event been in the news in the UK? I have the special glasses to look at it, but taking pictures may be challenging.

The moon passed the sun here at 2:07.

It was too exciting for this thread. DD and I sat in the alley and had an unobstructed view. There was quite a crowd in a nearby park, and we could hear ooooohs and cheers around the peak, and possibly every police and ambulance siren in town.

It was a bit exciting. It got pretty dark, but not like night time. I think the moon covered 95 of the sun. The pictures came out better than I thought they would. I used the three times optical zoom and covered the camera lens with my plastic eclipse glasses lens.

Just been swimming, to sauna, steam room and jacuzzi and got a McDonalds on way back. DS took a bath whilst we were out thought he might as I had told him I ordered some new bath foam, shampoo and conditioners and indeed he had sampled most of them. His preferred seems to be orange and grapefruit. 😎

Just opened ISA for new tax year.

I had quite a productive day today.

I am re-organising my bedroom 😅!

And I don't mean ...just moving some stuff from one side to the other either 🤣!

Now that I have a spare room for a while...I am moving everything out , but at the same time going through stuff as well .

Then it will be a deep carpet hoover and clean including all the hidden skirting boards and stuff ..

It will be a long process ..because ...well ...it is me 😅...the biggest procrastinator ever and very easily distracted when I come across photos of the boys and things 🤣.

Plus I have more appointments with mam this week for her on going issues.

I reckon by Christmas I will have a lovely room that doesn't look like a dumping ground !

I am actually really enjoying it being just ds3 and me .

Mam thinks it's awful that I am not missing ds2 !

Not gonna lie ....I will miss his bit of housekeeping 😅..

But bills and stuff will come down with just the 2 of us so it will even itself out eventually 🤞

Actually 🤔🤔...the bills won't change will they ..haha !
Bit less for gas and electric and that is it !

More stuff has been moved out of room..

And a big bag on the go for all those things I keep forgetting about ....the " might come in handy one day " items .....that I didn't even know were there....so would never be able to find them , even if I dis remember I had them. 🤣🤣🤣!!

I filled several bags to donate to Goodwill over the last few days. The items are mainly clothes and footwear of DD3's that she has given the thumbs down to - we did a very productive whatsapp call where I dangled each item for her to look at. I got caught up in the spirit of it all and gave a few things of my own a thumbs down too.

We have a few days of nice weather predicted - on top of the eclipse, I spotted several butterflies yesterday, and again today.

What an exciting eclipse! There was someone on the radio today who had flown to Mexico to watch it and was then flying straight home again.

I need to go through my workwear math I may or may not get round to it this holiday.

Well my room at least ...the less said bout the spare bedroom and the landing ..the better 🤣🤣.

First " cull " done.

2 bags of rubbish...which to be fair is recycling papers and stuff.

2 bags for charity.

2 pairs of foot ware found unused 🤦‍♀️.

I bought them at the end of season in the sale ...and err ...forgot about them when the correct season came round ! 😅.

Reorganized some drawers .

My problem is I have too much stuff of the boys and memories...and unused shoes !!

Going for a bath now ...and methodically work through the rest of the stuff over the next few days .

It's never going to be Instagram type bedroom...but I know where all my tags are now for Christmas 🎄 🎁!

Do you remember...last Christmas I couldn't find any of the 100000,00's that I knew I had 😅😅

The eclipse must have regenerated me 😅😅!

I remember the eclipse here in 1999. We were on holiday and watched it from Blackrock Sands beach.
Not very well at the moment, mental health, too boring even for here.
Saw the sad news about Prok, very sorry.

I remember the 1999 one as well ...in that I know exactly where I was at the time .
I was telling ds3. ...he was not interested 😞!

We had home made cottage pie for dinner which is good as can put in peas and carrots and get veg into DS. Bins are out. DD went out with her boyfriend for a meal then came back and I reminded her that it was bin day tomorrow and she appeared with 2 sacks from her room.

Bizzey, if you are quick you press the 3 dots and chose edit but its only there for 10 mins or so plus people can click and see changes.

Penguinsa, we call cottage pie, sherpherd's pie. I googled and learned cottage is beef and shepherd's is lamb. I have never heard of those being distinctions here, though.
My "Shepherd's pie" is:
ground beef cooked with chopped onion and garlic and seasoned then layered in a pie shell with gravy and peas and topped with mashed potatoes and grated cheddar. Then baked.
