I am still up if anyone else is ?

I had a horrible day today.

Head is still spinning ..

Adult social care/service person came round for mam.
She found it so distressing 😔.

But. the funniest bit was ...we were like 2 silly kids at 1 point !

He asked her , how she gets onto her bed with the new rail....

She did it .....

and then let out a big fart as she moved😂😂😂😂!

I had to leave the room ...as I know if I had caught mam's eye ...we would have been gone !

We had a massive laugh about it later !

...but at the time it was awkward 😂

bizzey · 27/03/2024 02:44

Rained all day today !

Brain wont stop working tonight.

X

Penguinsa · 27/03/2024 02:56

Sorry you had a horrible day Bizzey You are so lovely with your Mum.

Lovely pic of Daisy MissC Floof does the male version of that position a lot with back legs spread as wide as they can go and he does the two front paws curled up small.

I went swimming today though quite worn out from gardening on Sunday still when I was moving 100 litre / 40 kg sacks of bark around with DH. I was struggling to move them alone but could tip them over. So stopped at 70 lengths today. But more gardening tomorrow and these bark sacks are 50 litres so should be easier.

Penguinsa · 27/03/2024 02:59

And whilst I was swimming, sauna and jacuzzing DS took a bath, changed clothes, combed his hair, shaved and made himself chicken korma in the microwave, only putting it on a plate and heating it up but good start.

Penguinsa · 27/03/2024 03:01

DD says she's going to put Oxford as her firm uni and Bath as her insurance uni but says if she gets Bath then I need to go for her. That's fine would love to spend 3 years in Bath doing economics and going to parties. Lovely place.
.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 27/03/2024 06:32

Miss, I'd prefer a refreshing non-alcoholic offering. From the weddings I've been to in the past few years the trend was toward non-alcoholic with an optional wine pairing with the main course. No one complained.
It was much different on my mum's family's side: my grandfather was known for his quality moonshine and it would be an embarrassment to not have enough vodka and rye. Very old country. I remember great aunts sipping something from teacups at yhe church hall and it wasn't tea...
Penguinsa, gardening is quite a workout! 💪
It sounds like your ds is coming out of his shell a bit? 😊
Bizzey, quite a day! It's always good to be able to have a laugh. I've have something similar to share since you opened the door...
Havoc, for the past week or so, says "Mummy do you have a poo? Mummy, oh yes, you have poo!" if I, ahem, pass gas. I have been replying, No, mummy just has gas. Havoc has switched now to declaring I have gas. And, to my horror, two nights ago did so while we were out walking. "Mummy, do you have gas? 😲I looked around to see if anyone was within earshot and luckily not. 😅
Both dc are asleep, I've folded and put away a bunch of laundry, waiting for another load to finish washing and have got a choco chip walnut banana bread in the oven.
It's 11:30pm....

Mumtobabyhavoc · 27/03/2024 06:36

Penguinsa, I'll join you at uni, but it will have to be a different subject. I did micro and macro in first year and it killed me. 🥵

Mumtobabyhavoc · 27/03/2024 07:30

Just reporting the banana bread is delicious! I got the ratio of walnuts and choco chips perfect. 😋😋😋

Tilllly · 27/03/2024 08:21

@Mumtobabyhavoc

DS1 at about aged 6, announced to a visitor "my mummy trumps a lot"

Umanresources · 27/03/2024 11:53

@Penguinsa I'm exhausted reading about you moving the bark and swimming. I only emptied the dishwasher and had to sit down. Seriously! I have my trolley and have to put things on it to trundle things round the kitchen. I can only put things in the bottom cupboards or on the bottom shelves of the top cupboards. I can't reach up anymore and anything above the bottom shelf of the fridge is beyond me.
Havoc I've not done any baking for a couple of years. I did the obligatory banana bread during lockdown and must admit it was so good.
bizzey you certainly* liveup to your name. You are very good with your mum.
tilllly I printed out the synopsis
*ofall the Chalet School books and have so much material to read now, I'm so glad I've retired. My mum thought that reading should only be done after the housework was finished. Now I read whenever I want.

Miss after reading about the wine pairing I poured myself a mocktail left over from the other Sunday. Very refreshing.
I love the pic of the cat. We used to have three, but we live near a fairly busy road and opposite countryside and the lure was too great for them. I haven't had the heart to replace them but I miss them very much.
A quiet day today (no change there then). We had salmon, New potatoes and asparagus cooked in the Ninja Speedi last night. Such a quick, easy meal!

Deathraystare · 27/03/2024 14:43

Come now @MissConductUS no way is that cat asleep I can see its eyes are open. You have been rumbled!

@Tilllly

"Yes, that's right dear, Mummy practices the trumpet".

mathanxiety · 27/03/2024 23:39

I found an outfit for the second wedding I'll be attending this summer, a dressy looking jumpsuit from Target. I'll have to take a few inches off the legs and maybe lose a few pounds in order to be able to sit down comfortably in it. If only all brides had the same vision for their big day and all weddings were at similar venues...

MissC - Are your DD and her fiance leaving the choosing of the menu to you?

Chicken stew with dumplings tonight here. It's cold here and a slow cooked stew fits the bill. Dcat is curled up in her basket.

Penguinsa · 27/03/2024 23:53

I also prefer non-alcoholic drinks Havoc though DH is French and weddings there are unlimited champagne. Would be great if you joined me at Bath Uni, lots of subjects on offer though I was planning on mainly visiting gardens, parties, Sally Lunns and Bath rooftop spa.

Meals sound lovely Math and Uman

Did more gardening today and finished laying the bark, 100 litre sacks, planted some heathers and put two plant containers out and a bit of weeding. Then a lovely bath.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 28/03/2024 03:13

Penguinsa, the bath after gardening must've been quite welcome! The thermal spa looks pretty nice and I think I'll study psych. I'm sure my credits will transfer. 👍😃
Math, great you found an outfit! I haven't shopped for proper clothes in a while now. Dinner aounds good!
Uman, it's so easy to make and easily transformed with additions like nuts and chocolate so it's never boring! 😋 Your dinner sounds good, too.

Went to Science World today along with every other family on spring break ... 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️
Ordered coconut cake for Easter and will pick-up on Saturday.
Dinner was left-overs. Make sauce of Italian sausage in tomato sauce last night and served with rigatoni and then crumbled feta over top.
Had about 30 minutes of downpour this afternoon and a good 20 mins of hail yesterday. ☔️
Did anyone have clear skies and see the northern lights?

MissConductUS · 28/03/2024 16:00

Uman, our cats are indoors only. I live semirural and we have coyotes and other predators in the area, so letting the cats out without a fenced yard isn't an option. We do have a big second story deck that overlooks the woods, so when the weather is nice they get some outdoor time there.

Deathray, cats never really sleep. Her radar picked me up as I approached to ensuer I wasn't a coyote who had snuck into the house somehow.

Math, they will make the final menu choices. We're just providing our input based on actually tasting the food. There are a lot of options for the hors d'oevres and fewer for the main courses, so for the mains it was more about us validating that the chicken was moist and tender, the sides were tasty, etc. They're already picked the cake flavors.

I saw the ducks yesterday, and spotted the crane diving for fish, so they must be in there. The crane was too quick for me to get a picture of.

DS2 has sort of moved out !!

But bar the pillows missing and his small bedside table gone....his room doesn't look any different!!

It is still a tip 😂😂😂...

I am fumigating it at the moment , so that ds1 can sleep in there tonight.
He is here for the weekend ...

Not to see me ...he needs to catch up with a local friend who is moving further away and so catch ups could be difficult ...

I am just the B&B ...without the 2nd B ! 😂😂..

I will fully re-organised it next week ...just right now ...head space is in a ...this will do mode !

Clean bedding , clean floor , clean table .... rubbish all gone ...

bizzey · 28/03/2024 20:28

Chinese takeaway is on route !

MissConductUS · 29/03/2024 14:59

Bizzey, my son's room is a tip too. When he's gone for the day, I try to get in there to hoover and pick up clothes, but it's a losing battle. How was your Chinese takeaway?

When people in the UK get a takeaway, do you generally drive to the restaurant to pick it up or get it delivered? DH always goes to pick ours up so that we know what time it's coming.

What's everyone doing for Easter? My brother is having us over and asked DH to make scalloped potatoes au gratin.

OP posts:
bizzey · 29/03/2024 16:23

MiccC. ..I always get ours delivered as I don't drive any more and parking is usually a problem and I usually have a glass of wine while waiting so couldn't drive even if I did have a car !!

Our deliveries give us a rough estimate if delivery and you can track them on route.

It was lovely!

DS made his own breakfast ....and then left !

Which is fine ...because I love love doing washing up 😂😂!!

bizzey · 29/03/2024 16:28

He couldn't understand why I was telling him to put his bag up in ds2 's bedroom as he was sleeping there ....
I had completely forgotten to tell him that ds1 had moved out 🤦🤦‍♀️🤦‍♂️😂😂!!

He did let out a big WOW when he saw the room ! and was quite happy !

It really was a transformation!

The door is still open ..... normally I keep it closed so I can't see it 😂😂

bizzey · 29/03/2024 16:31

We played a few games of darts .....who knew I would end up being the darts Champion 🏆🏆😂😂!

Complete fluke obviously!

I am lucky to even get a dart on the board ...let alone aim for a particular number !!

bizzey · 29/03/2024 16:33

Thinking about the takeaways though ....I think it is area dependent if people get them delivered or not.

I know @Penguinsa collects theirs .

We are London ...so it makes a difference.

Penguinsa · 29/03/2024 19:25

Takeaways depends where you are - we are rural and so delivery services are limited and often not great so tend to always collect. In London we got delivered unless super close then we collected. I think most people have them delivered.

That sounds nice for Easter MissC

Hope reorganisation goes well Bizzey

Enjoy the cake Havoc

DH is off work for 6 days now, today is a Bank Holiday (Good Friday) and Monday is a Bank Holiday then he has 2 days off as he is going with DD to the Oxford offer holders day. DH is currently making pancakes. Collected an item from the shop today. We had Easter eggs early. Going out for a meal tomorrow and then to see a historic house and gardens.

Went swimming yesterday and this lovely lady told me I was very fit and she was impressed how much I could swim.

bizzey · 30/03/2024 13:07

And we have another leak coming from the loft 😮😕😕!

Well , I say another....but I think it is an on going problem that was never addressed properly!

Ds1 has been up there and taken videos to send to LL .

I braved the ladder and went up and spotted something else ...

Ds1 went up , found it ....and videoed his finger splashing in the puddle of water !!

We have put towels down. , up there at the moment to hopefully mop up some of the drips !

Why always a weekend ....and of all weekends !!!

Thank god I had ds1 here this weekend!

He is the only one who would want to investigate and manage to get in the loft !

It is very awkward as the ladder to go up is not attached to anything ....so never feels safe to me !!

I would be interested to see what my blood pressure and heart rate is right now 😂😂😂!!!

bizzey · 30/03/2024 13:12

LL is very good at coming out to look...but I am hoping the videos and photos are all the proof he needs and doesn't come out !

I can't cope with the stress of him being here as well ...

The spare bed in the other room that he will have to look in ....well....it is still looking like a well used spare bed /dumping bed 😂😂!

And I don't think the £5 I won on the lottery last night is going to go very far in me buying my own place ....or even this place ....that I would ...and then spend the money on what it needs 😕
