How old were you when you lost your virginity?

I keep hearing about how kids are losing their virginity younger and younger now so I was curious to know how old you were, compared to your children.

I was 17. Dh was 13.

DD is 10 and still at the age where anything sexual grosses her out (thank god). They are currently doing sex education at school at the moment and she comes home horrified every time

IMO rape and sexual assault doesn't count as first sex. Otherwise my first fingering would have been at age eight, and I'm not letting those entitled little shits take that privilege.

I was 3 weeks shy of being 17. I think that's quite young but we did end up engaged and with a house.

My daughter 15 almost 16 with a long term BF, I just hope she can hold out a little longer.

DH was 15 when he lost his (not with me).

All my friends were 13 or 14 and their boyfriends were 16 or 17 at the time.
It felt gross when we got to 16 and looked at 13 year olds though, way too young. I'm glad I waited.

I was 19 in my first year at university. He was a nice bloke - 18. We went out for a bit, he wasn't a great love but I did like him. Looking back the sex was very basic but I'm sure he'd say the same about me too 😂

My DP was 17. With a girlfriend.

Lots of peer pressure at school to do it asap so 'let' a man when I was 14 (he was 24 and should have known better but I blamed myself for 'letting him') then got called a slag for it at school.

Agree with the PPs saying that it's ridiculous it's even a thing. Like penetration fundamentally changes a woman and has any sort of correlation with value or growing up. It doesn't even register as a physical change - no one is able to assess and 'diagnose' virginity despite the myths and customs around it.

Or that penetrating someone (remember the Penetration Man thread!?) changes someone - but we all know the concept of virginity has very very different connotations historically (and today) for each sex.

16 - I was way too young to know what I was doing and felt pressured by a loving boyfriend, because I had reached the age of consent.

More concerned that your daughter is 'horrified' by her sex education. Do you know exactly what they are teaching, because some of it is excessive and totally unwarranted for kids that age.

15 and just wanted to get it out of the way to be honest. My older teenage friends had told me the first time is shit and painful but that it’s really fun after that.

I spent nearly my entire 20s feeling like an absolute freak as I hadn’t lost my virginity. Did so eventually at 28 to a man who broke my heart precisely 13 fucks later.

I was 15 but only did it once. Then once again at 16. It was 18 where I had an active sex life with my first boyfriend.

15, and he was 24. Nowadays it would be considered abuse, but I have thought about it very often, and it was not.
