How old were you when you lost your virginity?

And if you have children old enough, how old were they?

I keep hearing about how kids are losing their virginity younger and younger now so I was curious to know how old you were, compared to your children.

I was 17. Dh was 13.

DD is 10 and still at the age where anything sexual grosses her out (thank god). They are currently doing sex education at school at the moment and she comes home horrified every time

15. I was definitely later than a lot of my peers (I remember a school trip where I was one of 3 on the coach still a virgin). By 15 I felt very old and a bit embarrassed which is crazy looking back

Then I went to university and a lot of my friends were losing it a lot later than any of my friends back home so it might have been an area thing.

I have friends who lost it at 13 and some who lost it in their mid 20s. I don't think its really important

I am interested in your source that teenagers are becoming sexually active younger and younger. My understanding of the data is that the opposite is true. The teen pregnancy rate has certainly plummeted over the last twenty years.

14 with someone the same age. I had a very prude ‘mother’ who refused to discuss anything which I think made everything worse. I don’t regret it though it’s not that big a deal and I don’t think it’s harmed me in anyway.

16, a couple of months off turning 17. Both my brothers were 12 which I think is awfully young.

I was 20. Both my DC were 18-19. Both at uni before they did anything. (So they tell me!)

I was 14, almost 15. Huge regret of mine - didn't want to do it, got pressured by my boyfriend who was 17. Did not enjoy at all.

I know what it is now but I didn't back then. Wish I could rewind and tell him to eff off.

‘Losing virginity’ is such a grim phrase

It's an anonymous forum. It's not like someone asked you the question as you walked down the street.

We wait until I was 16 but there was a lot of happy fumblings before my 16th birthday. I miss the fumbling days............

I find it more absurd to talk about first sexual experience like we talk about a job or a bunch of keys.

I was 26, I think I know when my husbands was, it was secondary school (boarding school, who knew putting loads of teens together led to loads of sex) so maximum 16.
