How old were you when you lost your virginity?

And if you have children old enough, how old were they?

I keep hearing about how kids are losing their virginity younger and younger now so I was curious to know how old you were, compared to your children.

I was 17. Dh was 13.

DD is 10 and still at the age where anything sexual grosses her out (thank god). They are currently doing sex education at school at the moment and she comes home horrified every time

I’m not a prude about things but I think anything under 18 is too young
17 at the most

I lost my virginity at 22 but late but oh well

I agree

Twoshoesnewshoes · 21/02/2024 20:10

@porridgeisbae
no, not a typo, I was 8
yes it counts as losing my virginity because that’s what happened.

9th November 1999 (how sad to remember the date).....

Sweet 16......

To some random 18 YO twat who I met online (ICQ for those who remember....).......the birth of social media.....

Much older boyfriend (17 and a quarter).
Wasn't the worst experience, but it got better as I got older.

MaltedMilk88 · 21/02/2024 20:12

I agree

I think the age of consent should be enforced. In an ideal world, anyone over the age of consent shagging someone underage should get a criminal conviction.

It's a bit weird that we have an age of consent that's below the age of adulthood, really.

LanaL · 21/02/2024 20:13

I was 16.

my husband was 12 😩

Edit to add - it wasn’t to each other !! We didn’t meet until our late 20s !

17 but it was only one time. Then had an ongoing relationship from 18.

But if you're talking about a sexual relationship other than PIV then 16.

Tarquina · 21/02/2024 20:15
  1. He was 15.

Nothing wrong with remembering the date. Smile I think mine with a bloke was Christmas Eve of 1995. He was small so it was innocuous. That's virtually the best that can be said of sex with that guy really.

I don't think it counts as losing your virginity if someone is raped etc. You didn't agree to it. x

It counts to me, and I am the one who underwent that experience.

ScruffMuffin · 21/02/2024 20:17

22, and DH was 28. We'd been together four years by the time we did it. Only relationship for both of us. Kids are mid and late teens, and haven't had proper relationships yet.

Icantbedoingwithit · 21/02/2024 20:18

I was 17. OH was 13.

LovelyTheresa · 21/02/2024 20:19

Fifteen. I was and am absolutely fine. My partner at the time was nineteen, no he was not a creep, a pedophile, or anything like that. I am forty now and I have a 'number' of eight people, so hardly wild, and have never experienced any form of sexual trauma.

Alalalalalongalalalalalonglonglilong · 21/02/2024 20:19

17 after a year long relationship, but we broke up soon after. Maybe we should have done it sooner but I felt too young. I was the youngest of most of my friends. BF was almost 19 and I was his first too. DH was 20 and I was his one and only.

I always find it shocking to read about younger people, it was unheard of under 16 or 17 in my town and even then it had to be with a boyfriend. That was mid 90s.

RhubarbCrumble12345 · 21/02/2024 20:21

14 but to a boyfriend who was very lovely and I was one of the younger ones in the year. Felt like all my friends had done it too so didn't feel really young. Looking back I would have liked to have been older but I don't regret it!

Diamondcurtains · 21/02/2024 20:23

19 nearly 20.

YukoandHiro · 21/02/2024 20:23

I have no idea how old my DH was or his "magic number". And he doesn't know mine. Admittedly we met when I was late 20s and he was late 30s, so lots of history for both of us, but amazed so many people would ask or share this.

I was 17 and think that was fairly normal in
my peer group at time

CrushingOnRubies · 21/02/2024 20:26

20 - but only just
