How old were you when you lost your virginity?

And if you have children old enough, how old were they?

I keep hearing about how kids are losing their virginity younger and younger now so I was curious to know how old you were, compared to your children.

I was 17. Dh was 13.

DD is 10 and still at the age where anything sexual grosses her out (thank god). They are currently doing sex education at school at the moment and she comes home horrified every time

31 and it was DH though he wasn’t DH then. I wasn’t waiting for marriage but I did want a meaningful relationship. DH was 17.

23, with my now DH (but very early in our relationship, wasn't waiting for marriage or anything). Which I'm usually embarrassed about at it seems loads later then most people, do good to see there are quite a few over 20 on here, feel less weird! I'm sad about the number of 13 year olds on here though. I have a 14 yo now and it seems WAY too young

I was 15, but only just. I don’t regret it. I was with the guy for three years and although he was several years older, I was his first too.

Just turned 19, think my DH was 19 as well. Think DS1 was 15 or 16. Pretty confident DS2 hasn't yet, he's just turned 14.

It's a bit sick and perverted, a 16/17 year old going out with and worse still having sex with a 13 year old. Most guys wouldn't do that.

It wasn't uncommon for girls to be sexually active around this age in my experience, often with older boys. I honestly cringe now but the early 90s was a very different time.

I hope my daughter waits until she's ready and with someone who respects her.

16 for actual sex but I was up to 'stuff' with boyfriends from 15.

I was very very young but I actually believe the opposite that kids are waiting until a bit older, maybe it's just my experience (area I live in) but when I was young most of my friends were having sex around 13/14 and all were by 15 where as I hear teens now judging people for doing it so young and wanting to wait until a bit older

18…which I think was a bit on the old side amongst my friendship group who were mainly 15/16 when they did. One friend was only 12 which is awful. I really hope I can encourage my DD to leave it till she’s late teens. However I do think teens engaging in real sex with one another us probably healthier than learning through porn, which seems an inevitability

Never regretted waiting until then

I'm sad to see a few people saying they were 13. That seems so young, far too young IMHO

I was just 16. But for me it was peer pressure, if left to my own devices I would’ve been 19. As I didn’t do it again after that first time!

17 nearly 18. My dp was 13 which horrified me, to me this is just a child. His parents were/are idiots and let him have girls sleep over at that age (not as in a sleepover party of a number of kids, just having one girl stay over ) so not surprisingly he lost his virginity young.

I knew a woman who used to boast that she was dating a 'rock star.' She was really pretty as well and he'd probably partly attracted her by that 'glamour' and other dubious status symbols such as being high up in the occult.

But he really wasn't a 'rock star' except within their particular subculture. I just googled and apparently he played keyboard for a band on Top of the Pops once.

21….but I grew up in a weirdly small, conservative, religious setting, with marriage being the expectation from my parents etc. I felt like such a rebel at the time but it seems cringingly old now compared to most my age

12 to a 16 yo boy at our school who pretended to love me and then dumped me. Older boys at the time would have competitions to see how many sexual acts they could get from girls, all while pretending to care about them. Many of us girls, ages 13-16, were pursued by men in their 20s and older. Some of my friends, as young as 13, were having group "sex" with men in their 20s.

Most were predatory men but there were also women including a mother of a girl in a higher grade who would have sex with teenage boys at school. And a woman in her 30s took a teenage boy's virginity and became pregnant by him.

This was the early 2000s.
