How old were you when you lost your virginity?

I keep hearing about how kids are losing their virginity younger and younger now so I was curious to know how old you were, compared to your children.

I was 17. Dh was 13.

DD is 10 and still at the age where anything sexual grosses her out (thank god). They are currently doing sex education at school at the moment and she comes home horrified every time

Statistically it must be quite unlikely for them to not be sexually actively until their mid-late 20s

19 and the last of my friends. Mid 00s and I’d say the norm in my friend group was 15-17.

Am I wrong to be feeling sorry for you?

I was 17 but a lot of my friends were 14/15

I had just turned 17 and was the first of my group of friends.

19 & married him a few years later. Absolutely no regrets about lack of variety, had plenty just not the full on sex. DH same.

@Lemonandlime7654 What you feel is up to you, whether it be pity, curiosity, horror or amusement. Personally, I feel I've either been unlucky or I'm just not popular. Maybe a little of both but something likely went wrong somewhere in the last 30-40 years and has yet to be corrected.

Totally depends on your tradition, peer group, expectations...

I was just 16 and he was just 17. I married him. Each others first and onlys. We have 3 children now 🤪

I was 19. We’ve been married for more than 40 years!

I had just turned 16. Wasn't a good experience. Didn't have sex again after that until I was 18 with my now DH. I had other sexual experiences prior to turning 16, my earliest at 13.

Nearly 17. I wouldn't dream of asking my adult daughter as it's none of my business.

I was 16. I have an (almost) 21 year old and a 17 year old. Both are still virgins as far as I know.

There is a huge range of normal. I was 16.
