I mean yesterday was an office day. I read back and it seemed unclear!

SpiritOfEdna · 05/03/2024 10:30

@Aria999 AHHHH I I forgot about B&W. I ended up doing a delivery for this morning, and hoping someone (her son) will be home. Today is a busy one for work so a small list for me today

  • dentist
  • Dance Yourself Fit class tonight
  • PT this morning
  • nip round to post box to send off some recycling
  • find a tape measure! I am scouring Vinted and Ebay for clothes I have loved previously and have found a much loved jumper (that I stupidly shrunk in the wash), but think it may be too small :-(
Hope all is well with the little ones, mums, dads, aunties x, SoE
RunningKatie · 05/03/2024 20:52

Book club tonight, yet again I'd not read the book! Today I cleaned the kitchen windows, finally getting rid of a mark that's been annoying me for ages.
Got a poorly dc, but not poorly enough to be off school tomorrow, thank heavens as it's distracting having them whilst I'm trying to wfh.

SpiritOfEdna · 06/03/2024 10:08

The flowers arrived safely, so all good. Just dropped doggo off for a groom, finger crossed she doesn't come back completely bald - she mats easily but have managed to stay on top of them except her tummy. Told groomer to use her judgement - eek.

Today:

  • clean exercise mat it's filthy! I'm blaming the doggo. It's in the bath as I type.
  • the newly arrived sunlight is highlighting too many dusty areas - my laptop is filthy and in need of a good clean
  • put the muddy sofa throws in the washing machine
  • hunt for yet another electrician who will do small jobs - keep getting let down
  • phone dentist to organise a filling/hygenist appointment
  • put away the little forest of toiletries that have made their way onto my desk.
That's all for today, have a good one, SoE
SingleThreadJoiner · 06/03/2024 14:07

@SpiritOfEdna , you must of course update us once SpiritDog is back about her new look! Well done on getting your targets out of the way for another year.

And good news on the work front for @SpringLobelia as well! 💪I know what you mean, it IS nice to be asked, regardless of whether we can take it on or not.

Hello @lucysmam ! Exciting about the Eras tour - when are you going? We are going too, in August...

Like @RunningKatie , the child has a rotten cold which luckily doesn't keep her at home, but does hugely impact how well she's sleeping - another terror last night, and another wet bed, so I am failing miserably in my battle with laundry - like playing whack-a-mole 😬 (to say nothing about my quality of sleep...)

I've managed to book some work travel yesterday, but other than that and laundry, and trying to make basic vaguely healthy meals for dinner, it's One Of Those Weeks.

lucysmam · 06/03/2024 14:10

@SingleThreadJoiner we're off to Liverpool night 3 in June. Super excited (me more than the girls 🤣). I've made good use of my 3 days off - lots of clearing/cleaning, listing on Vinted, and making friendship bracelets...might have gone overboard on the beads 🙈

FrostyFroggy · 06/03/2024 14:36

Hello! Wecome @lucysmam I think you do a long running weekend thread? 💕 I love reading it!
Life got the better of me over the last week or so, so I haven't been about much. I have name changed to keep up with @SpringLobelia 💐
I will go back and catch up, but big 👋 to you all!

I have done some batch cooking
I have attended various appointments for myself, and supporting family members with theirs.
I am trying to persuade DH to talk to GP about sleep apnoea.

I need to do a reset around the house this afternoon, but I'm meeting my eldest for a dog walk first.

Big best wishes to you all!

petalpower · 06/03/2024 14:39

Auntie is now out of hospital (far too soon in my opinion) and back at the nursing home so I’ve been here most of the day waiting for her to arrive by ambulance, then sorting out her hospital
things and feeding her lunch. She’s currently asleep so I’m catching up with online browsing! I brought plenty to do as I wasn’t sure when she’d be back so have mended a couple of jumpers and FaceTimed DD in Australia .

SpiritOfEdna · 06/03/2024 15:46

@SingleThreadJoiner SpriritDoggo back from groomers - as I feared she has had most of her fur chopped off, but she has a lovely sweet face which you can see more of now.

@lucysmam oooh enjoy Liverpool - my home town 😄I saw the Rolling Stones at Anfield (I was there more for the support act ) and the sound was phenomenal - and they didn't look like dots in the distance.

@petalpower - hope you get some down time now Auntie is sorted

SoE

petalpower · 06/03/2024 22:47

Ah you’re back @FrostyFroggy . I was wondering if you were ok. @lucysmam i always look out for your weekend threads but never post. It’s such a lovely snapshot into other people’s lives. DH says I’m nosy but I just think I’m interested in people!
@SpiritOfEdna your lists are always so impressive. You seems to achieve so much as well as having a proper job.
Hello to all the other projecteers!

FrostyFroggy · 07/03/2024 06:42

Morning everyone 👋
@petalpower I was so sorry to read about Auntie's fall! I hope that she is able to make a good recovery. Poor lady is dealing with so much 😔 You certainly have your hands full and I wish to send my usual love, solidarity and caution to take care of yourself 💐 I hope DD is having a great time!

SpringLobelia · 07/03/2024 10:34

Welcome @lucysmam !! I missed saying welcome! I also enjoy lurking and sometimes posting on your weekend threads. My posts usually have some variation of 'taking the Dcs swimming. Hope to persuade them to go to the cinema with me'. Grin

Hi and best wishes to all. Thanks

Love the name change @FrostyFroggy 🐸

Exhausted today for some reason. I am about to go for a walk as it is quite sunny. I very seriously need to catch up on washing and ironing.... not least because tomorrow if mufti day at school and naturally all the desired items of attire are in the dirty washing basket. Hmm

I also hope to plant a plant. 🌺

Love to all.

lucysmam · 07/03/2024 14:14

Thanks for the welcome 😊

Today's job for me is to nip some Vinted parcels from yesterday and today to OneStop shortly. I'll make one of the girls walk with me - whoever's in first!

FrostyFroggy · 07/03/2024 16:34

I am feeling very delighted over here in my small corner. I thought the house was a mess so decided to do the old 15 min timer in each room. Whilst i was cleaning bathroom dh finished work and ran the hoover round, and the whole house was done in 45 mins. Several years of developing routines and doing a daily project has paid off and I am so chuffed!
And then I cleaned two fridge shelves, prepped our dinner, deflead the cats and booked a hair appointment.

I need to be sociable with poor old DH who has put up with me being stressed and distracted for a fortnight, so I will wave to you all once more 👋 and send my best wishes for all your lovely life snapshots xx

FrostyFroggy · 07/03/2024 16:46

Disclaimer: Child free household mainly, but some years ago I (and house) were extremely chaotic, so not smug, or cocky, or judgemental of anyone! Just over the moon at things finally adding up 🎉

RunningKatie · 07/03/2024 17:14

Checking in from a chaotic house 🙂 It's our last world book day today, whoop! Although I cannot believe dc2 is nearly off to secondary school.
Today I've shredded a stack of receipts, cleared kitchen surfaces and wiped over in the downstairs loo.
I need to hoover downstairs and help dh empty his car of flatpack furniture.
I also feel I need wine. Maybe this eve once all the furniture shifting is complete.
Happy nearly Friday all!

SpringLobelia · 07/03/2024 17:26

I am drinking a Buck's fizz. Grin

This is thanks to me buying way too much fresh orange juice and worrying it will go off by tomorrow. My daily project of clearing out the fridge... tick!

I was looking at all the little kids going off in their world book day outfits today and was feeling all nostalgic. When the truth of it is I recall grumbling heartily when in the middle of it because 'everything the school asks you to do costs money!!'. [wail]

That is a big win @FrostyFroggy - the whole house in 45 minutes!! I agree- the daily project threads have made such a huge difference to our house over - well- it must be a couple of years now?!

Hope everyone has a wonderful evening!!

FrostyFroggy · 08/03/2024 06:24

Other people's kids look so cute all dressed up! Our nursery aged relative went as batman. I have no recollection of my children doing it, just the odd mufti day, for which we paid a pound.
I like your fridge clearing method @SpringLobelia My shelf cleaning was more traditional 😂
Ihope you got your wine @RunningKatie Flatpack furniture is deadly. I save it for my son's visits because he actively enjoys putting it together. Strange man! He says it's the logical next step from lego.

FrostyFroggy · 08/03/2024 07:06

I hope the job is going well @SpringLobelia Sorry I'd missed that. I'm struggling to keep up and tag people, but I still enjoy reading all your news, and find your achievents an inspiration. @SpiritOfEdna I'm sure SpiritDoggo appreciates having less fur to get snarled up as much as you enjoy seeing her pretty face! Our family dogs are all short haired currently, but we did have a poodle when I was a child, who sported a very 70s haircut. The poodle was inherited from my grandparents and poor thing had to adapt to living on a farm!

I'm hoping to build on yesterday's magnificence and have started well by putting a wash on. Remembered to get dinner things out of freezer 🎉
Am out and about a bit today so I plan to do the flylady routine first which means i must go and get dressed. The project for today is to clean cutlery drawer.
My car is looking awful inside so I should probably do something about it.

Happy Friday everyone 🥂

SpiritOfEdna · 08/03/2024 08:28

gratuitous Friday photo, her lovely long lashes are still there x

Daily project Round 5
SpringLobelia · 08/03/2024 08:43

aaaaahhhhhhhh........ 😍

petalpower · 08/03/2024 08:58

What a gorgeous dog @SpiritOfEdna !
Beautiful day here. Going back to the nursing home to spend a few hours with auntie (she really seems to have been adversely affected by her stay in hospital never mind the hip replacement) and also need to pick up dog medication from the vets, my prescription and go to pick up groceries from the butchers and greengrocers.
My car is also awful @FrostyFroggy . The lanes around here are filthy so there’s mud all over it and the inside isn’t much better.

SpiritOfEdna · 08/03/2024 15:29

when she is a bit fluffier we always get lots of kids in the park shouting there's waffle!
Today

  • Just been to the dentist for a filling - that was an expensive morning! -done
  • gym this morning for a PT session - done
  • need to tidy my desk (again) - done
  • cancel all meetings this afternoon - done 😄just waiting for the go-ahead for the last one
  • walk spiritdoggo
  • get my stuff ready for gym tomorrow
That will be all for today, have a good one, SoE.
lucysmam · 08/03/2024 17:35

Evening all.

Not much achieved here - washing all up to date and whole house hoovered plus basics mean that it's not too bad anyway. I came home & spent some time with dd2, who needs a bit of tlc atm, instead of jobs. We went for a walk to the shop together & bought some treats for after our takeaway (and weekend wine 🍷cheers!).

Mentally planning next week's small jobs though...

thenewaveragebear1983 · 09/03/2024 06:50

Happy Saturday 👋 I dropped off the thread a bit. I’ve caught up on all your posts. I find that my ‘must do’ list becomes overwhelming itself when it gets too long so my weekend task is just one item this week:
hem my curtains! I have been procrastinating it so much (like 6 months) but I really must do them.

I remember @lucysmam and I’d like to read a weekend running thread!

I have a few days leave at Easter and I’d like to paint my kitchen but it will involve some prep plus I have committed myself to not starting another diy job until I have done the nagging bits on my list.
