Has anyone else seen this horrible news story? Apparently 9 people have been injured, looks like the original targets were a woman and two children.

What is WRONG with people?!

Granted asylum on his third attempt and a convicted sex offender. I’m so glad he managed to disfigure himself

Where’s the source for this ?

TheGander · 01/02/2024 21:05

Men wanting to maim or destroy women who are escaping their control, it happens everywhere. However in some countries women have fewer legal rights and economic opportunities, lesser cultural value and ultimately are kept in that position by the threat and deployment of male violence. It’s naive to argue otherwise.

Away with your balanced and reasoned points, they have no place on Mumsnet.

There is an episode in John Ronsons new 'Things Fell Apart' podcast where he interviewed a journalist who worked for a radical Left Wing news outlet during the BLM dems in the US. He reported a black man saying that people should also be angry about Black men killing Black men. One of his colleagues made a complaint about him. He felt that the dividing line on this is class not race, sex anything else. Whee wealthy middle class people who aren't really affected by violence can virtue signal when it is the people who live in these communities, and the most marginalised who really suffer when we don't talk about fgm or honour killings etc . Asylum seekers often have been escaping from shitty violent places and don't want to have all the people they tried to escape from imported to a place they came for refuge.

U.K. should be no home for a man like him. That young woman & children came here for safety in the hope of a better life & look what’s happened to her. This country is a joke. It’s embarrassing. What use is a man like this to any country.

I don’t think it should be either. Dangerous, we deal with the poor victims and will cost us in more ways than one

Clapham alkali attack: Abdul Ezedi revealed to be a sex offender

You only need to look at Sweden as how asylum/immigration strategies can go wrong and change the fabric of society.

London was once a brilliant city, I used to live there and love visiting. It’s becoming lawless with tribal gangs inherited from countries where it’s normal to kill someone for just being different/from a different family, acid attacked, machetes. My father in law was Ex met police and in the last 10 years he was as saying it was becoming unmanageable.

women are the people that suffer most.

TheGander · 01/02/2024 21:16

He’s coming from a place where women have to be invisible except to close relatives, because it’s assumed that men can only look at women lustfully and the only solution is to hide women away. From a place where consent probably isn’t a concept, to Europe where women walk around half undressed by the standards of his country. It’s not surprising to me that a proportion of such men are going to sexually assault women.

IClaudine · 01/02/2024 21:20

TheThingIsYeah · 01/02/2024 20:59

@IClaudine

Don't you think that the common denominator is misogyny, not race? The Catholic Church. Rotherham. Wayne Couzens. Different races and religions involved. Misogyny allowed all of it to flourish.

Catholic Church? I mean, really? Of all the religions you could have gone for, you just couldn't bring yourself to type the most obvious. Jesus wept.

The misogyny of the establishment had a big role to play in the scandals involving the Catholic church, alongside the misogyny of the Catholic priests (and nuns) involved.

The misogyny of the police force had a big role to play in the travesty of Rotherham, alongside the misogyny of the Muslim men involved.

The misogyny of the police force also had a big role to play in the crimes of Couzens, alongside the misogyny of Couzens himself.

Is that better? As I said, misogyny is the common denominator.

CackleQueen · 01/02/2024 21:22

Apparently he lives in Newcastle, and came all the way down to London to attack them. I’m guessing she left him, came down south and he chased her.

More than likely.

IClaudine · 01/02/2024 21:23

Anyway, my thoughts are with the victims of this awful attack and the people who witnessed it and came forward to help. Arguing the toss on MN seems pretty trivial right now.

itsmyp4rty · 01/02/2024 21:29

I can't imagine the trauma those poor children have been through, this is going to affect them for the rest of their lives.

TokyoSushi · 01/02/2024 21:30

Do we know how they knew who he was so quickly?

The Belvedere hotel
at the end of lessar road is a large and nice Victorian hotel facing Clapham Common that’s now dedicated to small-boat asylum
seekers. There’s loads of mums and babies living there - I really hope the nutter hasn’t targeted them.

I'm not sure they'd have a car. It was likely a domestic situation or, seeing that he had wounds to his face, perhaps he retaliated as a evil way of getting his onw back.

MorrisZapp · 01/02/2024 21:33

KeeeeeepDancing · 01/02/2024 21:14

Oh good god. Those poor kids.

Notaflippinclue · 01/02/2024 21:38

Misogynist, sex offender, failed asylum seeker, still on the streets - he must have a friend in the HO

SoooSoSo · 01/02/2024 21:39

SealHouse · 01/02/2024 19:35

The attacker is in fact an afghan immigrant asylum seeker, Abdul Shokoor Ezedi.

Get your facts straight indeed.

I read Kurdish?

Notaflippinclue · 01/02/2024 21:41

Oh and finally why did it take so long to put that very clear mug shot on to the TV - the politically correctness is mind boggling

And we are paying for these fuckers to lodge appeal after appeal to stay. These judges and human rights lawyers should be brought to account. Any crime committed and they should be kicked out immediately. This country has become a laughing stick to the rest of the world

Maybe the victim told them

cato40 · 01/02/2024 21:46

Wasn't brexit meant to stop immigration? Ah! only the Europeans were the bad ones...brexit would only bring la creme de la creme of good immigrants

TokyoSushi · 01/02/2024 21:30

I think the woman probably identified him. I don’t know if the car was his and they were all in the car, if so probably registered to him.
Latest photo released of him CCTV in a Tesco store, I don’t think that can be chemical burn on his face, surely he’d be in agony ?
Suspended sentence for a sexual assault is despicable, should have been deported.

Not sure asylum has much to do with this either way

The carpets and brooms approach can only buy a certain amount of time.
