Has anyone else seen this horrible news story? Apparently 9 people have been injured, looks like the original targets were a woman and two children.

What is WRONG with people?!

You only need to look at Sweden as how asylum/immigration strategies can go wrong and change the fabric of society.

London was once a brilliant city, I used to live there and love visiting. It’s becoming lawless with tribal gangs inherited from countries where it’s normal to kill someone for just being different/from a different family, acid attacked, machetes. My father in law was Ex met police and in the last 10 years he was as saying it was becoming unmanageable.

women are the people that suffer most.

It’s women who suffer the most is it?

It’s men who get violently attacked and killed the most

i think everyone suffers. Good men and good women

There's some stories coming out of incredibly brave people who stepped into the middle of it all and helped, getting burned themselves in the process.

Just reading on Sky News now, so it seemed he travelled from Newcastle that day, and that the car involved in the incident was his, so had he travelled down in the car?

Was the woman in the car with him? In the CCTV, the younger child appears to have been in the back of the car at some stage? Does the victim know the attacker? Or was it completely random and I'm mistaken about the child in the car?

Were his facial injuries caused in the attack? Or pre-existing? He doesn't look particularly in pain in the CCTV...

Apologies for all the questions, the info online isn't particularly clear, or perhaps we just don't know.

BBC news at 10 have answered a lot of my questions now.

CaveMum · 01/02/2024 22:12

@TokyoSushi the police have said the woman and the attacker are “known to each other” but haven’t specified how. Odds are that they are former partners, but there’s also a chance they may be related to each other another way.

Have they said what the relationship was?

TokyoSushi · 01/02/2024 22:15

They've just said that 'the man was known to the woman' it looks like she & the children were originally in the car with him. It also says that the woman was 'vulnerable.' They seem to think that his injuries also came from the attack.

Just awful, poor woman & girls.

Totally agree with this. 100% right & this is the feeling amongst people I know.

I wonder if she attacked him first and then he has overcome her and sought revenge/punished them all.

Would make sense why he has a bad eye Injury?

Yes they did happen - can be traced right back to the 1800s - mentioned in the 1861 Offences Against The Person Act, which categorised acid attacks as GBH with intent

Very common in gang and drug dealer disputes

What?! It's her fault somehow?!!

FairisleFairy · 01/02/2024 22:26

Granted asylum on third attempt after a priest supported his claim of conversion to Christianity.
How bloody naive is that?

No I'm just wondering why he has a large wound to his eye really.

I would imagine he injured himself while carrying out this terrible and chaotic act.

I would highly doubt she ‘attacked him first’

Sorry the graph showing the phenomenal increase of acid attacks against women and girls coinciding with the importation of third world men is obviously misleading . I didn’t realise it was a British custom.

Either from bumping it when he crashed the car or from splashing the corrosive substance on himself somehow.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 01/02/2024 22:31

Ok 🤷

I honestly can't be arsed. You wrote quite eloquently, so you're obviously an intelligent woman. Go figure it out yourself.

Grow up and have a grown up conversation instead of throwing a strop and then saying "you can't be bothered" to explain your issue. You come across as someone who can't debate, and at worst very childish otherwise.
