Pornhub logo is stuck on my iPad! Help!

Hi all. Putting aside your views on porn, who is good at tech stuff? I decided to see what the fuss was about and googled Pornhub yesterday evening on my iPad. Fairly grim. But now whenever I open up Google, there’s a small pornhub logo on the tab!! I am useless at tech and don’t know how to get rid of this - and I really don’t want my teenage kids to see it. I tried ‘delete history’ on Safari in setting. Can anyone else help me? Feeling horrified with myself. (A, for looking, and b, for being tech crap). Please help, embarrassed middle aged mum here.

You can just click on the little grey cross and close the tab, can’t you?

Uninstall Google on the iPad?
Reinstall it?
Or, uninstall Google and download DuckDuckGo [way better privacy] instead.
You should be able to install separate Google apps, like Maps, individually.

but on a kind of related note, our internet is with plus net. And on my laptop in finder, I don’t what it is but it shows the router as pnhub1! Which has always fucking amused me 😂 😂 😂 😂

Clear your cookies and wipe your google search history. And use a private browser next time 😉

@BrutusMcDogface i can click the cross and close, but then weirdly it just appears again when I open Google.

Ah properly made me laugh that OP. My teen came in and asked what I was laughing at.

No idea how to get rid of it though. If it's uninstalled it should have got rid of it surely? Cookies might do it.

I think it looks like the tab is still open maybe? Also browse incognito when watching porn then this deffo won't happen!

@Actually444 I’ve closed everything I can think of. But then I open Google again and there it is! Arghhh. Panicking now.

Close the whole browser app (double click iPad round button and swipe up the browser)

To clear cookies:
Open Safari again - Preferences - Manage Website Data - search for websites you want to delete - Remove

Try both and let us know!

I might just have to bin the entire iPad.

Leave iPad where teens could find it. Ostentatiously and publicly come back, open it, see icon, and lose your shit at the teens, demanding to know who has been accessing porn.

OP buy your own cheap Ipad or stick to using your own mobile phone! probably best!

God this reminds me of the time I found my brother crying hysterically in the lounge when he was fourteen because he’d got a dodgy porn tape stuck in our family VCR. It kept grabbing it back in when we pressed Eject. In the end we had to stab at it with a bread knife to catch hold of it 😁😁😁
