Pornhub logo is stuck on my iPad! Help!

Hi all. Putting aside your views on porn, who is good at tech stuff? I decided to see what the fuss was about and googled Pornhub yesterday evening on my iPad. Fairly grim. But now whenever I open up Google, there’s a small pornhub logo on the tab!! I am useless at tech and don’t know how to get rid of this - and I really don’t want my teenage kids to see it. I tried ‘delete history’ on Safari in setting. Can anyone else help me? Feeling horrified with myself. (A, for looking, and b, for being tech crap). Please help, embarrassed middle aged mum here.

Ok, I've tried deleting history and data, checking in bookmarks. Nothing is budging it. Somewhere on the iPad, something has gone amiss.
I would follow the poster's advice to make sure all systems are up to date, and back up everything and reboot, but I don't know how to do this and it's scary. What if I lost photos or messages?

Sorry to ask the obvious, but have you turned it off (as in powered off, not just put it to sleep) and turned it on again?

Do not do a back up now before erasing your data. You need to make sure that the latest backup was before you went on the website, or you will be back to square one. To check this go into settings and tap on your Apple id at the top left then scroll down, select iCloud and iCloud backup on the right.

@MuttsNutts I've just checked iCloud back up....it's switched to 'off'. So best not to turn it on again now? I have no idea why I would have set it not to back up.
Omg. What will switch the favicon back? 😔

Have you tried going to different websites as it may reset itself?

Oh dear. No, don’t back up now because that won’t help.

Try not to panic, someone more knowledgeable than me will be able to help. And when it gets sorted, remember to turn backup on so that it does it automatically.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling chrome? You might lose your bookmarks etc though.

Can you delete the safari app and use chrome as your browser instead?

Ahem..Click on and hold the orange tab.app A menu pops up, click delete, or any other instructions to remove app then clear history, (don’t ask me how I know.)

@MossGrowsFat i can’t find any page that looks like that. Might be only on a Mac not an iPad? But sound like the sort of thing I need.
@Getoverit1965 it’s on safari not chrome, and yes, I will definitely be too terrified ever again. @bryceQ i would delete Safari but I can’t work out how to do that.

This is awful. My two teens are away for the night and I was going to enjoy watching strictly and having a glass of wine. Instead I’m sitting crying in the kitchen, trying to work this out. My husband would be laughing at me/with me and sorting this out, if he was still here. 😭

Are you on ipad? Just hold down the safari icon and click delete app.

Go to app store and download chrome

@Daffodilsandtuplips by orange tab do you mean the ‘ph’ by Google? I hold that, and it gives me a list which includes close tab, but no clear history.

What other options are you seeing if you hold down on the PH icon?

You'll could take it to the bottom of the garden and smash it with a rock? 😎

@bryceQ if I hold down safari icon on home screen it will let me ‘remove it from home screen’ but says it will still be there in my App Library. Where’s the App Library?!?

I think you've had some sort of app installed which you need to remove as well.
