People posting photos of their holiday on social media with a caption like “this is how my Monday morning is looking”. Like calm down Joanne, you’ll be back in the office by next Monday.

Middle management telling me they pay my wages.

People thinking that are different and edgy because they wear Dr Martens (I do still love the boots though)

Face, neck or hand tattoos.

People who post on here saying DH, DC etc.

I recall when Vimto was unheard of outside our bit of Lancashire, my cousin who had 'emigrated' to Hampshire would takes a case home every visit and I recall taking 2 2litre bottles in my hand luggage to New Zealand! My Mum used to make lollies from it and we would have a flask of hot Vimto at the football in winter!

Hooves is perfectly correct though - either hoofs or hooves is grammatically sound.

People who call Birkenstocks Birkies. Ditto shortening perimenopause to peri.
Both not only make me cringe hard, but bug the hell out of me for reasons I cannot explain.

I get irrationally angry at Alexander Armstrong, an expensively educated man, who says on Pointless 'if you can score less than.....' .

Well no I'm not small minded. I'm autistic, and have very black and white thinking such as past tense language should be exactly that.

The way people speak can be extremely cringe, colloquialism or not.

Another example of speech being cringe is when people say "Hi, how are you doing?" Then continue to barrel on with whatever it is they want to say when they just asked a question without it being something that is inherently obvious as rhetorical.

This has always bothered me as well.

As soon as someone says Can I get... I just want to say I don't know, can you reach?

People saying "on a daily basis" when they could just say "daily".

Can't believe nobody else has mentioned this but people typing 'then' when they mean 'than' aaaaaargh! I see it so much!

There's a different way to to pronounce the letter J?

Actual cringe, not just things that annoy me:

People talking really loudly in public or showing off and drawing attention to themselves

Non-professionals singing or dancing for an audience (I’m totally unreasonable but the second-hand embarrassment is almost painful for me, no idea why)

People who get words wrong and keep saying them. I had a colleague who said ‘segue’ like ‘seeg’ and ‘diaspora’ as ‘dye-a-spORA’ in meetings on multiple occasions. I wanted to slide under the table.

When men (it's mostly American men that are guilty of this) refer to the lady they fancy as "this woman" or "that woman" e.g. "I think I am falling in love with this woman"
or "I'm developing feelings for that woman".

People that talk about their dogs as if they're human. Especially when they talk about the dog as the brother/sister of their human children. Can't stand the whole furbaby bollocks.

When people misuse terms like "attacking" "threatening" or "gaslighting" when none of these are happening it's just a difference of opinion and not a personal attack. Yes I am a survivor of actual abuse and do know the difference.

When people check in to hospital on Facebook Then when someone asks what’s up they say “I’ll dm you”
