Things people do that make you cringe?

People posting photos of their holiday on social media with a caption like “this is how my Monday morning is looking”. Like calm down Joanne, you’ll be back in the office by next Monday.

Middle management telling me they pay my wages.

People thinking that are different and edgy because they wear Dr Martens (I do still love the boots though)

OP posts:

People talking with mouth full. ( Especially strangers on next table in a restaurant. )
People talking very loudly in public places. ( Had a bloke today in dentist sat next to me filling in a form and answering the questions by talking .. so we all knew his personal buisness..but he was so bloody loud).

FedUpOfInstaMum · 10/11/2023 19:42

People posting pictures from recent hoilday with the #takemeback

Thethruththewholetruth · 10/11/2023 19:43

My boss plays the fake piano to songs on the radio, it makes me want to die for him! Stop it

Squiggles23 · 10/11/2023 19:43

People on LinkedIn posting gushing cringey posts! Makes my skin crawl.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 10/11/2023 19:46

Adults liking Disney.

People posting photos of their absolutely minging dinners on FB. Like a bog standard curry or Sunday dinner. Why???

SM4713 · 10/11/2023 19:47
  • Work whatsapp group that 1 women has morphed into her personal facebook, and assumes we are all very close friends- we are not . NO, I don't want to see pics of your post opp bruising or wound, NO I don't want to see 20 pics of random places and people you met on holiday, NO I don't want to know what you ate on Saturday, NO I don't need to know your granddaughter got her period or your daughter has thrush! 🙄
  • MIL who says 'The Covit' and chews and speaks with her mouth wide open - to the point that things fly our when she speaks! 😝

When men wear really tight trousers.

Gall10 · 10/11/2023 19:48

People allowing their children to stand in shopping trollies….especially if their shoes are minging dirty (actually even if their shoes aren’t that grubby it’s still totally unacceptable in my book).

Eh?
What's wrong with this?

This! I'm with you. It's so wrong

When people say as part of a sentence.... "I'm here for it"

Abso-bloody-lutely!

Namchange101 · 10/11/2023 19:54

People who say Nom Nom/holibobs etc
People who eat loudly
People who overshare - an ex friend used to tell us (school mums) when she and her DH had had sex/how many pubic hairs her DD9 had etc etc 🤢🤮

Chewbecca · 10/11/2023 19:55

TheShellBeach · 10/11/2023 19:49

Er, because trollies are for food. No one wants the debris from shoes on their shopping. Children too big for the built in seats should walk.

FuckingHellAdele · 10/11/2023 19:55

A work one- when on Teams calls, someone suddenly experiences 'connection issues' when they realise they have a question, or an action to feed back on coming up.

One guy does it a lot, then puts a note in the chat that he's going to 'switch off his router to see if that works', then rejoins in the last minute when everyone is dialling off. It's SO lame, I'm embarrassed for him

Nose pickers

Recently I was on a plane and everywhere I looked someone was having a good dig and flick
Then in the hotel restaurant- parents who loudly talk to their kids as if we all want to hear, then FaceTime daddy to tell him everything they have done ( and argue with daddy for going out with mates whilst the rest of the family is on holiday with mum and dad), nose pickers in the restaurant ( did we learn nothing from covid??), Germans putting towels on the sun beds ( despite the signs saying not to in 3 languages), loud middle aged white men holding court with the young receptionist when we tried to check out ( ‘oh and another thing you might be able to help me with’ 🙄)

But it was a lovely holiday 😂

cardibach · 10/11/2023 20:00

@Cleanfreshsheets i wear DMs because they are about the only things that fit my huge feet/are comfortable in winter. I wear Birkies all summer for 5ge same reason. That ok with you?
I know nobody who wears DMs to be cool and edgy. Don’t even see how that would be a thing.

LifeofBrienne · 10/11/2023 20:00

“People posting photos of their holiday on social media with a caption like “this is how my Monday morning is looking”. Like calm down Joanne, you’ll be back in the office by next Monday.”

Sounds like your problem is that you’re friends on social media with people you don’t actually like? I can’t see what’s cringey about posting that you’re happy to be on holiday and not in the office.

It's disgusting

Atethehalloweenchocs · 10/11/2023 20:03

Holding your fork in a fist and shoveling your food in with it. Pronouncing the g at the end of words ending with ing as a k sound.

H34th · 10/11/2023 20:05

The mum on the WhatsApp year group asking if it's PE day every day.

GoldenKiwi · 10/11/2023 20:07

When people relate food to sex. Eg 'that meal was foodgasmic!' and insert a drooling emoji.

Yuck yuck yuck.

Balloonhearts · 10/11/2023 20:07

And dangerous. I've seen a child crack their head open from standing in a trolley. They reached for their mum and the trolley tipped. It's not designed to be stood in. Ambulance was called, don't know if they had any permanent damage.

Also seen one have her front teeth knocked out from riding on a flatbed trolley. Dad pulled it over a speed bump in the carpark, she was jolted forward and smacked her mouth on the bar. Trolleys aren't for riding on, sit them in the seat or they walk. Parents who stand them in the basket are fucking brain dead idiots.
