In the UK it is now the 24th November....so happy Thanksgiving to my friends in the USA ....

Even though you are only having Thanksgiving Eve at the moment 😅!

I hope you all have a lovely day x

Silkiefloof · 23/11/2023 00:07

Hope it cheers you up Mouse ours went up early as cat wanted it, was knocking a bauble around, and to cheer us up and seems to be working though Floof is now zooming around at night chasing the robins on the tree and trilling.

Sorry about the work Bizzey hope it's sorted quickly.

Emma Didn't see hedgie tonight but looked it up and says they can travel 2kms a night or 3kms if seeking a female so sounds like they roam. It's the first time we've seen one though we have lots of leaves from our holly trees which may be attracting them or maybe they like the new painted house. Cat biscuits are out for them.

Quiet day today. DD just returned from work. I am feeling slightly ill again so just taken meds again but hopefully will pass with a sleep, insomnia and Floof permitting.

Hope your Christmas tree is up soon Havoc So exciting to be this close to Havocversion2.

Congratulations Sprouts

Have a lovely Thanksgiving MissC and Math and anyone else celebrating.

Mouse I've got IPL but haven't started it yet, going to start in new year. Did it take long to see results?

That was nice of them Tilllly.

I always aim for Christmas decorations up on 1st Dec. I can't think about Christmas earlier than that and I want to enjoy them for the whole month so I don't like to leave it later.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 23/11/2023 00:20

Sounds like things are humming along for everyone! ☺️
Miss, glad your dd made it safely.
Silkie, wondering if I will change my user name...🤔
Sprouts, congrats re the course! 🤓Is Luminate a Christmas lights display?
Mouse, definitely put your tree up! 👍

I prepped a wall for painting while Havoc napped then decided to fix a couple of wall dings in the bathroom and painted that wall, baseboard and ceiling !!!! Will resume hallway painting when Havoc is asleep tonight or napping tomorrow. 🥳 It's nice to have a bit of energy back. ☺️

I'm on week three or four and can already see a real difference. This is with zero other hair removal since last Sun when I zapped it!

I've added a pic of my test patch so you can see the difference! Only problem is now I'm going to have do my full arms now 😂

I have to go and buy one first but have some lights up and it's amazing how much brighter it made me feel!

Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news 27: Calmly through the day
bizzey · 23/11/2023 00:41

The plastic bag is not normally there !

Iris by the bins and just fell out 😭

bizzey · 23/11/2023 00:47

Ohh ...that is a screenshot shot of picture last year !

Couldn't post properly did it as a screenshot.

EmmaEmerald · 23/11/2023 00:49

Happy Thanksgiving!

So jealous of people with hedgehogs!

@Silkiefloof I hope you feel better asap'ly.

bizzey · 23/11/2023 00:56

@EmmaEmerald ..
Last year I went on holiday for 5 days.
I think my little hoggie missed me because when we came back I found him in my BEDROOM !!

He ..or she ? came in through a cat flap that I didn't know was open...and ended up upstairs 🤣🤣🤣!

bizzey · 23/11/2023 01:05

It was one of those weird scenarios that if it wasn't for the fact I had witnesses..that I thought I might have dreamt it 😅!

I may have let out a bit of a loud squeak when I saw it .
DS put his head round the door to see what the fuss was..a few " bleeps " from him ...and we got other Ds to wrap him in a towel and put him out side .

I keep saying him 🤔.

I am thinking now it is a she as I have seen baby hogs as well ?

Silkiefloof · 23/11/2023 01:07

Yes you may need to change username Havoc but don't change it too much so we know it's you. 😆

Very cute hedgie Bizzey and wow at them coming upstairs, they must love you. Not sure what Floof and hedgie would make of each other, Floof thinks everything is a cat toy. I was also wondering how you tell male from female and whether to call ours her or him. 😂

Thanks Emma The plan for rest isn't going too well, it's 1.06am and DH got up for a drink which set Floof off trilling, he's so lovely and you can't be cross with such a happy creature.

EmmaEmerald · 23/11/2023 01:25

@bizzey That is amazing! I'd love to see them climbing stairs. Wonder how long that took. Baby hogs too, lucky you.

@Silkiefloof Hopefully you're asleep by now...I'm a late person but also an insomniac which is such a pain.

I came downstairs one morning in the summer to find my two dogs going frantic in the living room. Found a hedgehog curled up in the corner. It must have come in through the dog flap, but I don't know how it got into my garden in the first place, as it's walled all round. I've lived here 30 years, and never seen one before.

sueelleker · 23/11/2023 09:02

Silkiefloof ; Is trilling a Maine Coone thing, or floof-specific?

Tilllly · 23/11/2023 09:51

I'm only posting cos there's 666 messages 😱

EmmaEmerald · 23/11/2023 09:51

I love floofs that trill and mrrp. I never know how you'd get one.

that said, I was cat sitting for a neighbour recently and I did wonder how I'd cope with the reality of a cat. Not an issue now as I'm in a small flat....tbh I might go straight from here to an over 55s in 8 years, so I'll not have a cat there either because all my money would go on their services!

Silkiefloof · 23/11/2023 10:11

All Maine Coons trill and our trills, purrs, chats a lot, sometimes it feels like for hours non stop. Its so cheerful you can't really do anything but smile but sometimes at 3am you do think Floof shut up. 😂

Silkiefloof · 23/11/2023 14:34

Glad your colleague got you wine Tilllly

Had 2 meetings today, both became online as two at same time but that suited us. First was for DS to see what free IT he could get from the LA, only taken 5.5 years to be offered but they are doing an ipad with text to talk and an itunes voucher. DD said I hoped you asked for everything possible and I will take it. 🤔Floof crashed the call in the first 5 seconds jumping on DH's head and tapping him with a big fluffy paw in a what about me? display. The guy thought he was very cute. Then a quick call with oncology re hormone tablets.

Hopefully swimming tonight.

MissConductUS · 23/11/2023 17:09

Happy Thanksgiving to one and all!

The apple pie, holiday mashed potatoes, and assorted appetizers are ready to go, and we will leave for my brother's house shortly.

It's a lovely sunny day for the trip. This will be the first time we've had Thanksgiving with them since before covid, so it's quite a treat.

Have a great Thanksgiving, Miss!
(and wear elastic-waist pants! 🤣)*

*trousers, for the UK 😂

Silkiefloof · 23/11/2023 18:19

Have a great Thanksgiving meal MissC and all celebrating. I just said to DH when he said we are not going swimming well it's Thanksgiving in the US and I am sure Floof would appreciate a roast turkey. I turned round and Floof eyes were huge gazing at me. Yes Floof wishes he lived in the US tonight.

MallardsMoorhensAndLethe · 23/11/2023 19:37

I'll be sure to test somewhere inconspicuous Mouse!

Enjoy Thanksgiving those who celebrate it 🎉

Emma if you wanted a no-commitment option it's possible to provide a temporary foster home for a cat from a charity who's awating adoption. The charity pays the costs sometimes so all you do is look after it and report on its behaviour etc so it can be matched with a suitable cat adopter.

Glad you got some IT equipment Silkie.

Bless your hedgehog coming upstairs Bizzey, I'm surprised it could even climb up there!

Christmas shopping today. Broke again now. Never mind, payday soon.

MissConductUS · 23/11/2023 19:42

Thanks, Silkie. My SIL has made a massive turkey for the five of us, and there are no cats in the house, so there would be plenty for Floof. As a Maine Coon, he does have America heritage and possibly some genetic memory of Thanksgiving.

DD FaceTimed with us from Florida. They went to the beach this morning.

I’m having some Brie cheese on French bread while waiting for dinner.
