Welcome to all regulars, lurkers, and new contributors! Everyone is welcome to join.

No dull news here. But I do have a high vis sighting. DH and I are both off work today. I was pulling out of the garage when I heard two loud bangs. I thought something was wrong with the car.

A tree had come down just down the road from our house. That brought down the electric wires and caused the transformer to explode and catch fire.

DH and DS set up the generator, so we have limited power, but no internet, so I'm posting from my mobile.

There's no estimate yet on when power will be restored. Our internet provider is estimating a day to get service back.

Crikey.

Yikes, Miss! We have a warning for same here as winds gusting to 50km/h this weekend.
I keep looking at small generators to buy. I'm mostly thinking for cooking/kettle/heating/phones bottles. We're lucky where I am as we don't lose power often, but now I've probably jinxed it...

I feel very guilty today with the amount I have used my tumble dryer !

It is normally 1 week / emergency sort of use.

But today I have got so much done ,washed,put away, beds remade,...loads ...

I apologize to the environment...but I decided my mental health was more important today .

Everything is washed , smelling nice, and disappeared , either back on the beds,wardrobes or airing cupboard..

One more quick dry to do ...then every washing basket is empty and ...I can breath !

Really helps me move on to the next task,if one task is completed.

Loved , loved , loved having D's away so I had the extra room to get organised in without a time limit !

Havoc, get a Honda generator if you can. You’ll pay a bit more but nothing else comes close for reliability. Our is 15 years old and runs like the day we bought it. You’ll need an electrician to install a sub panel for it. Ours powers the garage doors, freezer, fridge, furnace, gas stove, water heater and some lights and outlets in the house. It’s enough to get us through until the power comes back on. It has been so worth the investment.

That looks quite worrying, MissC - so lucky the tree didn’t fall on anyone.

I have just been on a thread giving housecleaning tips 🤣🤣🤣!

I am just so enamored with this new cleaning stuff I got ..in fact I am wondering if if has some addictive drug /smell/ in it or something..

I see it on the side ...and feel the need to wipe down my cupboard doors again 😮🤔🤔!

I don't feel like I am cleaning when I use it !

Bizzey, what is this magical cleaning device you've been raving about? I've also got a tonne of laundry to do. And a bed to make. And a whole long list of things waiting to get done. 😵‍💫

Did errand - success. 😀 Then we went to beach to walk the seawall, pier and along the beach. It was a bit rainy and windy, but not too bad. As they say, weather for ducks (which we saw, along with sea gulls and a massive flock of cormorants) 😄

Though ds1 would have collected nearly all those pebbles/stones /things .
" dounne" / stone was his first word !!

He would be in the pushchair going to the shops ...
and by the time I had got to the shops ...the shopping trolley bit underneath would have been full of his "douunes " that I had to keep picking up and collecting for him ..cos I was a big softie who never said NOOO ! 🤣🤣

Ohhh ...he had a delayed "st " and "s " pronunciation!

Ohh and "dounne " collector went on to do a geology degree !!

In was obviously in him from the first time he saw a st"douune " !

The word doesn't work when you spell it !

It is stone ...but replace the st with a d .

But it doesn't become ..."done" word

Bizzey, that's cute. 🥰 Mine inserts an "n" in middle of name and says, Come bye down? For come lie down. 🥰🥰😘😘It's so frigging adorable and sweet I could burst. 🩷🩷🩷

Word mispronunciation has still continued into adulthood ! 🤣

Vanilla ice cream is still Vammilla !

And crisps are still crips 🤣🤣

bizzey, I had to google Purdy and Figg. The products look fab. I don't think we have anything like that here.

Our power was restored around 8:30 last night, but we still have no internet, phone or TV. There are trucks out there working on it, but they belong to another internet service provider, not the one we use. 😢

It must be a laundry day all round! I've changed my detergent today to a coconut one, everything smells tropical like holidays and suncream......bet im itchy and regretful by monday ha ha

Had a lovely day at a book fair with friends

I too have done some laundry and hung it out. It was dry and moderately sunny, but is still damp. I refuse to use the tumble dryer unless essential however so have hung the damp clothes on the airer after ironing them.
Went for a short walk before kick off this afternoon at our away match.
DS had a selfie with Jac Morgan, he was thrilled!

A lump of my ceiling has just fallen down ! 😮😮.

Just as I had Purdy and Figged the whole upstairs 😞🤣🤣!

Sweeping it up now ...but carpet is going to need a lot of work to get clean again !

Got someone coming on Monday to look at it /start fixing it ?
