Welcome, @Ladyof2022, and thanks for sharing your news. Congratulations on your almost completed book. That's quite an accomplishment.
Havoc, I call the ones with the orange flesh sweet potatoes too. We only have them on Thanksgiving.
Silkie, I feel your pain re your DS's room. While my DS was in Boston for the weekend, I decided to hoover his room for the first time in months. I wound up with a pile of laundry to do, as clothes were strewn everywhere, and I had no idea what was clean and what was not.
Iwandered, Instagram is not a reliable source for anything, much less nutritional information. Fruit contains some natural sugars, but not enough to be a problem unless you eat it. Fruit is also a great source of digestive fiber and micronutrients.
We visited two venues today with the WP. One was lovely, but we would just be renting the space, so would need to bring in a caterer. That is certainly doable, and in some ways is an advantage as we wouldn't be stuck with whatever menu choices an inn or hotel has to offer.
The other is an old abbey that was sold by the order when they ran out of sisters. It's been converted into an inn, restaurant, and event space. It was lovely and had great views, but the "ballroom" is the old church sanctuary. So it's a long, narrow space and a bit dark. That's where the tables would be set up for dinner. It's also just barely big enough for the number of guests we anticipate.
The WP is going to talk to DD about the options Thursday evening, and we're going to give her our input tomorrow.
