When does terrorism become war?

Looking at the news this morning I think the media are finding it difficult to register Palestinian attacks as a terrorism event or simply an attack of one state against another.

I suppose whether you view 5000 tickets as a terrorist atrocity or a declaration of war is dependent on your views on whether Palestine can ever be a functioning state. We plainly in Europe would describe such events as terrorism in that civilian populations have been targeted but in the eternally challenged middle East the use of such a word has political connurtations.

Is this a terrorist attack on Israel?

The hostages have been taken in order that Hamas can demand Palestinians held by Israel be released.I believe that they now think enough have been taken to secure the release of the people they want, in other words they have a list .

My opinion is Hamas is as bad as the Israeli government in terms of civilian atrocities, the difference is that Israel (government) can murder on a much grander scale.

Are you honestly saying that the Israeli government and the Jewish people are one and the same, and you can't question the actions of the former unless you have some kind of hatred for the latter? What about the Jewish people who oppose the government's actions? Where do they fit into your black and white view?

I have lots of sympathy for ordinary Palestinians, who like me, you, ordinary Israelis and everyone else, just want to live their lives safely and in peace.

I have no sympathy for the Palestinian leadership or anyone who is a member of Hamas, which is a proscribed terrorist organisation.

Yes you’re probably right. That was probably a big factor in the Israeli government’s long term plan, hoping Palestinians would reach their limit and leave the land off their own backs by crossing over to Egypt illegally. I don’t think I would in their situation though and understand why they don’t, I would feel like a traitor to all those who sacrificed so much before me.

Because of your refusal to condemn Hamas and Fatah for their attacks on their own people. Your concern about attacks on Palestinians seems strangely selective.

It's therefore logical to assume that if you don't care about attacks on Palestinians when you can't 'blame the Joos', that actually you don't really care about Palestinians at all, and are just using them as a tool to attack Jews.

I care about any innocent people being unfairly attacked and oppressed and I certainly have no issue whatsoever with Jewish people, it's disgusting that you keep making those kinds of accusations against anyone who disagrees with your very narrow viewpoint.
