So sorry for the delay. I know I promised I'd do another thread after dinner last night.
Then sort of had second thoughts as some posters started commenting on my previous thread that I was enjoying the drama, then tattle started getting involved etc etc.

I have been blocked on social media, as well as family and friends. We've all been turfed out but who cares. I have my lovely shoes back.

Letter was sent signed for today.
Hopefully she receives it tomorrow!

Thanks again for everyone who helped.

A happy ending (and £300 odd short) but that's what I'm aiming to get back now.

Gorgeous shoes!
Also some people have said not to pursue this and write it off. Nope, £300 is a lot of money! Too many people get away with shit like this. She needs to cough up.
Glad you've got crime ref etc. Please do let us know the gist of what the letter says!

itsalongwaybackfromsorry · 02/10/2023 21:51

Glad you got your shoes back and that all your friends have now compared notes and are on to her manipulative ways.

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 02/10/2023 21:55

Op what did you say in your letter?

Picoloangel · 02/10/2023 22:06

Oooh you’re back! Been looking for this thread all day. Glad you got your shoes back. They are gorgeous!

Off to Small Claims Court - see my previous post for what to do. 😊

Agreed.

Her and her posse are no loss, it's great they've exited stage left.

Do we know if she actually wore your shoes, OP or was a ruse to pawn them? Horrible betrayal.

Crazyjanes · 02/10/2023 22:07

Not me searching the wedding photos of everyone I know to find out if I know you

VedaPierce · 02/10/2023 22:07

Wow they are beautiful!

I cannot believe people are telling OP to write the money off. I would suggest a small claim against CF using
moneyclaim . gov . uk

It costs £35 for a £300 claim (which is added to the claim) and is quite a simple process once you have registered. A claim against the pawnbroker would be more tricky - there may have been a contract in place between CF and PB.

If CF does not acknowledge the claim you can enter judgement and win by default. Come back on here OP if you need any help with it. I have had to send bailiffs in before, having worked too hard for my money to allow entitled people to take advantage.

Thelaundryfairyhasbeenassassinated · 02/10/2023 22:08

So glad you have your lovely shoe back xx

Pipsquiggle · 02/10/2023 22:12

Glad you have your shoes back.

I really hope CF pays you back

Playingintheshadow · 02/10/2023 22:17

Do not let CF off the hook and never lend out your amazing shoes again!

MadeForThis · 02/10/2023 22:18

I would definitely take her to small claims. He obviously makes a habit of this.

Sallyh87 · 02/10/2023 22:22

They are beautiful! However, I would topple over the second I stood in them I think.

Well done on getting them back and lesson learned. Hope you get the money back!

ramblinclampin · 02/10/2023 22:28

Each to their own - I am very glad you have got your shoes back, but jeez they are "interesting" - I'd pay someone to have them off my hands (lighthearted OP)

Whatsinthefridge · 02/10/2023 22:37

What was in the letter then?👋

Tomeeornottomee · 02/10/2023 22:38

They are beeyoootifull. Glad you got them back and now put on your invisible valkyrie helmet and get your money back. Good luck!

Puzzledandpissedoff · 02/10/2023 22:38

I have been blocked on social media, as well as family and friends

Well, yes - when she moves onto her next marks she can't afford to have comments from decent people revealing what she is

Anyway, so pleased you got them back OP; they are indeed gorgeous, though with a leg full of metal my days of wearing shoes like that are well over Sad

TooOldForThisNonsense · 02/10/2023 22:39

Stunning shoes, so glad you got them back. Sorry if I’ve missed it in the long thread but won’t the pawn shop have to give you the money back?

EllaPaella · 02/10/2023 22:42

This thread deserves a true crime podcast.. I'm riveted 👀😁

SíDoMhamóí · 02/10/2023 22:46

May you always love you're shoes and have them forever xx

ilovesushi · 02/10/2023 22:50

I'm glad your lovely shoes are back and that this woman has revealed her true colours before she can cause any more harm in your life.

PreetyinPurple · 02/10/2023 22:51

Good you all know now what she was doing behind each others backs. Unbelievable.

MoiraRosesBaybay · 02/10/2023 22:53

What a ride those two threads were. Beautiful shoes but they would look a bastard on me, and I’d fall over.

PyongyangKipperbang · 02/10/2023 22:57

They are stunning! As a fellow shoe lover, I would be all over those!

People saying "write it off and move on" well thats exactly how these fuckers get away with it, no one ever gives them consequences! The thought of chasing thieves down to get paid back is so big that they think "Oh I give up, I wont see a penny so whats the point?" The point is that every single time they get a judgement against them in small claims it can be taken to a CCJ and baillifs. And then it really does have ramifications. So then they stop and think about whether to do it again. Its not just your money you are protecting but the next victims. She is self employed and has a mortgage....how would that fly with a (stolen) handbag full of county court judgements?

She has clearly never had anyone actually report her for shit like this before and probably isnt expecting the OP or her friends to do it either. People like this only stop when they get negative consequences, think of it as the OP doing her a favour by teaching her an important life lesson.

OP, if it does go to court, I really REALLY need you to wear those shoes to the hearing!

WtP · 02/10/2023 23:03

Bloody hell they really are a pair of shoes!!
My late wife was a textile/clothes designer and really admired some of CL's designs, though she was never brave enough to walk in anything like that!
I would also like to say you have a gem of a brother ❤

IDontCareMatthewImSpeakingToRachel · 02/10/2023 21:14

@HundredMilesAnHour thank you for this, I've been calling them 'red bottoms' ever since setting my eyes on them. Oops!

A lot of people must've thought I had a very red bottom on my wedding day!

Your shoes are lovely.
Your brother sounds amazing.

And you probably got the phrase red-bottom heels from a Jason Derulo song, Swalla.
