So sorry for the delay. I know I promised I'd do another thread after dinner last night.
Then sort of had second thoughts as some posters started commenting on my previous thread that I was enjoying the drama, then tattle started getting involved etc etc.

I have been blocked on social media, as well as family and friends. We've all been turfed out but who cares. I have my lovely shoes back.

Letter was sent signed for today.
Hopefully she receives it tomorrow!

Thanks again for everyone who helped.

A happy ending (and £300 odd short) but that's what I'm aiming to get back now.

I dreamt about this thread a couple of nights ago 🤣 ....lo and behold it's on my email notifications. Any updates OP?

Isanyonereallyanonymous · 23/10/2023 14:51

Shamelessly commenting so I can get notifications of further updates!

LookItsMeAgain · 27/10/2023 13:28

Did you get your shoes back @IDontCareMatthewImSpeakingToRachel ?

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 27/10/2023 15:31

She told us that she had at the beginning of this month. You can find the post in which she said it at the top of each page this thread, because it's the one that she started the thread with.

D'oh! I'm sorry - I had it in my "Threads I'm On" list and I really thought it was an entirely different thread which is why I was asking if she got them back.

Delighted for you @IDontCareMatthewImSpeakingToRachel. Well may you wear them.

Has the friend who flogged them to the Pawn Shop come back with any sort of reconciliation?

ClairDeLaLune · 29/10/2023 09:30

Hey @IDontCareMatthewImSpeakingToRachel any update about getting your money back?

Klopite · 02/12/2023 17:29

@IDontCareMatthewImSpeakingToRachel did you get your money back ?

SunflowersAndSmellyTrainers · 02/12/2023 21:01

Oh for goodness sake.
Old news.

BeyondMeasure · 02/12/2023 21:11

Yeah but it's not if you don't know the ending?

Klopite · 02/12/2023 22:05

Maybe I’ve missed something but the op had given cf till the end of November to pay back the money

Nanaof1 · 03/12/2023 07:40

It would be nice to hear an update on many of the threads.

I would like to know if she is going to take the thieving friend to court or if she has had any more contact with the thief.

Jeneregrettaisrien · 03/12/2023 07:57

It was revealed that this was a fake thread! Posted for a laugh apparently. I always seem to get invested with threads which are not updated or which turn out to be dodgy … So frustrating!

No way, really! ? I missed that. Did the OP admit to it?

I missed this too and am pretty regular on mn. When was this revealed?

I remember that being alleged quite early in but I think OP was able to address that. I might be wrong though,

Highlyflavouredgravy · 03/12/2023 08:40

When was that revealed?

antikkiti · 03/12/2023 12:24

It wasn't "revealed" that it was a fake thread - it was just alleged on a site called tattle.life and I seem to remember that the OP thought it might have been her friend behind the allegation, trying to cast aspersions on the OP's post.

Jeneregrettaisrien · 03/12/2023 16:12

Except then it all died a very sudden death and we never got to hear the outcome regarding the fallout… Who knows!

Someone stops talking about something they are taking legal action about and that to you means it's been revealed to be fake?

Jeneregrettaisrien · 03/12/2023 23:02

That’s not what I said

marcopront · 04/12/2023 03:20

Jeneregrettaisrien · 03/12/2023 23:02

You said it was revealed to be fake.
People questioned when and where.
Your response was it was stopped talking about

The implication was strong

Jeneregrettaisrien · 04/12/2023 04:43

Given the poster made two threads with regular updates and details, why wouldn’t she then update the outcome on 30 November? Happy to have misunderstood the situation.

VedaPierce · 04/12/2023 08:59

If OP was not paid her money (which is likely) she may have served a small claims summons via Moneyclaimonline. The court rules are that you have 28 days to file a defence. If the case then proceeds to court it can take around 6 months to be allocated a hearing - although free mediation is usually offered but then OP would have to be prepared to accept less than her original claim.

If you are not familiar with the court process it can be quite daunting and OP may still be deciding what to do. You should also not discuss court proceedings on social media as often the tabloids will report on posts.

BeyondMeasure · 04/12/2023 11:44

Surely you'd come back and say "hey guys, if I decide to take this further, I can't come and comment, so my absence will tell you everything you need to know and thanks for listening!"
