CF sold my shoes part 2!

So sorry for the delay. I know I promised I'd do another thread after dinner last night.
Then sort of had second thoughts as some posters started commenting on my previous thread that I was enjoying the drama, then tattle started getting involved etc etc.

I have been blocked on social media, as well as family and friends. We've all been turfed out but who cares. I have my lovely shoes back.

Letter was sent signed for today.
Hopefully she receives it tomorrow!

Thanks again for everyone who helped.

A happy ending (and £300 odd short) but that's what I'm aiming to get back now.

Glad that the shoes are at back. Sorry for everything that OP has been through. Unfortunately, there are some people who just take advantage of others.

A former friend of mine didn't steal from me, but she was constantly borrowing and took advantage of me in other ways. It wasn't until I finally decided to let the friendship peter out that I discovered that she'd borrowed money from every other person in our department at work. She wasn't short of money - she and her husband both had decent jobs - but she did smoke a lot. Whether that caused her money woes or not, I'm not certain.

More than 4 years after the last time she borrowed money from me, she contacted me on social media to say "I have your money for you."

I messaged back, telling her to keep it. To be honest, I could have done with its return, but I didn't want the whole sorry tale to start over again. (She'd borrow X. She'd return it. The next time, she'd borrow X plus Y.)

When I read about the CF and the way she'd borrowed from OP's circle of friends, it just rang a bell.

I hope that you also get your money back, OP, but I'm delighted that you at least have your beautiful shoes.

To add insult to injury, I wonder if she faked the whole story of needing them just to get an expensive pair of shoes from you that she could take to the pawnbroker... OP--they look pristine. Did you get the bags and box back too?

I'd still take her to small claims, so she doesn't get away with this crap any longer. If she doesn't pay, she'll have a judgement against her which will come into play when she least wants/expects.

Do you have a ballpark figure on the total amount she grifted/scammed from people, including your DB. Did she scam your DM (I was worried about her).

They are definitely my shoes. I haven't had them rehealed, they've only been worn a couple of times.

They still sell that particular style but not in that colour.. I don't think anyway. My brother was under the impression they were limited edition. It's one of their classic shaped shoes though so the actual shoe is still on sale and always will be.

It's sad that people need to google / reverse search my images to make sure I'm not trolling everyone but I guess this place is filled with trolls so I don't blame anyone.

Wonder if any of the tattle readers are on here yet!

I am sure they are, just look under any piles of dog poo in the garden or the mossiest rock and you'll see them peering out, drooling, hoping for the next "ah-ha" moment.

OP--read my other post above as I did have a couple of questions for you and put them there.

So happy you got your shoes back and they are beautiful! If the heels were 4" shorter and the shoe 3x as wide, I'd love wearing them!

Don't let this go now that you have the shoes back. Don't let her get away with this as she will do it (and probably has) again.

Soon the new Trolls movie will be out and maybe that will keep them busy. Maybe by then, their bridges will be repaired, and they can go home again. 😉

Honestly, they don't look like LE shoes but your DB could have been led to think that, as salespeople will lead people in whichever way will get them the sale.

They are still beautiful, still precious to you and most of all, YOURS!

I cannot believe people are telling OP to write the money off. I would suggest a small claim against CF using
moneyclaim . gov . uk

It costs £35 for a £300 claim (which is added to the claim) and is quite a simple process once you have registered. A claim against the pawnbroker would be more tricky - there may have been a contract in place between CF and PB.

If CF does not acknowledge the claim you can enter judgement and win by default. Come back on here OP if you need any help with it. I have had to send bailiffs in before, having worked too hard for my money to allow entitled people to take advantage.

This is such a lovely post!

I think the CFer is finally going to learn a lesson. Too many have let her get away with too much for too long. This will be her wake-up call. If she doesn't pay (who really thinks she will?), there will be a judgement against her that will trail her as she grifts, I mean drifts, along.
