Whether it’s personal or well known, which unsolved case makes your brain sound like dial up?

That’s happened a few times. I always put knives point down in the dishwasher.

Thank you for giving me nightmares tonight 😬

Another one that captivates me. Very spooky indeed.

For those interested in the Eilean Mor case, Emma Stonex’s novel The Lamplighters is a brilliant and very creepy fictionalised version of it.

the final photos taken in the kris kremmers Lisanne froon case scare the shit out of me.

I have no idea what happened, and swing between foul play and accident, but the pictures in the dark (where they think she was flashing the camera just to use the light from the flash) haunt me

Brian Schaffer - I think he died in the bar. Maybe drugs? because he didn’t seem like the fighter type, but something happened that night and he never left the bar - as In walked out. I can’t remember all that happened after, but I think his father died when he was struck my lightening a few years later. He dad blamed a friend of his who was around the night he disappeared and that leads me to believe it was drug related. Friend gave Brian drugs, he ODs, friend and others panic and get rid of his body.

Brian’s girlfriend at the time, Alexis, was supposed to go to Florida, I think, with him, the following day. I use to read her blog after he disappeared. She became a doctor (they were both med students) and later married and had kids. We are similar ages and I was worried, as much as you can be for a stranger, that she would never move past his disappearance.

Stephen Clarke in Saltburn. I live in the area and word on the street is that he was never even on the pier that day. The story is a stinking pile of shit and his parents are guilty as sin. See recent interviews and docs on his case. Something happened at home that day and they’re responsible.

Yes I don't believe Stephen Clarke was on that sea front the day it allegedly happened. I hate to say it but I suspect the parents know something. Wasn't there a woman not so long ago who claimed she knew something?

There was a young man who went missing in a dead end after a night out. Was on cctv and there was no way out the street but he went missing

That was local-ish to me - Corrie McKeague in Bury St Edmunds. The conclusion was that whilst drunk he climbed into an industrial bin to sleep, which he had been known to do in the past. The bin was collected in the early hours of the same morning with him presumably crushed inside the mechanism. They tried to look at the local dump for his remains but it was months after the fact and very much like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

Someone/some people know who this piece of shit is and have kept schtum.

It was a great bit of driving by the bus driver.

Could have easily been a tourist.

There was a young lady who fell to her death in Benidorm.

its mind boggling. The story is so weird. There was a video of her asleep and around 30 minutes later she ended up in another room and apparently jumped to her death… have a google.. it’s never been solved.

Croydon or M25 cat killers as no one has ever been found, they were in my area very close and police say but no evidence they could go onto murder eg kids like Dahmer.

Sleep walking would be the most logical solution.

Claudia Lawrence. I saw her father on BBC news years ago talking about her, and he spoke with such dignity although you could see his heart was breaking.

Fred snd Rose West, they definitely murdered more young girls.

The case of Elisa Lam who was found dead in a water tank on a ship always freaked me out as well, especially the footage of her in the lift running from something 😳 so scary

Yes!!

So many on this thread I feel the same way about-

I want a definitive answer about Madeline McCann

Can't remember the estate agents name (feel awful) who went missing

Have read about those 3 children on the beach on Australia-awful

Again-want to actually know what happened to poor JonBenet

Jill Dando

Elisa Lam-footage so scary

I heard a very interesting explanation of the Jill Dando case.

It was a professional hit, but the killer got the wrong woman. He killed Dando on her doorstep under the mistaken belief she was the wife of a Russian businessman, with dodgy connections, who actually lived a street down from Dando. Both women were blonde, slim, same hairstyle, same dress sense.

It was, in short, a case of mistaken identity.

It's the only explanation I've ever heard that makes sense to me.

Snazzysausage · 02/09/2023 22:41

2 local ones to me,first Alan Wood, worked as a gardener and PT in a local supermarket.Tortured in his own home over 3 days then murdered. The police have Dna from the scene and video of the murderers in our local town but it's still no further on. Horrific. Also just after we moved to where we are now, back in 1980/81there was the body of a newborn boy found in the local pond.Never solved but I often think of that little boy, wrapped up in plastic and thrown in the water like a bit of rubbish.

Whapples · 02/09/2023 22:42

The Delphi murders, they aren’t even THAT old in terms of crimes but the whole thing has been bizarre from the get go. The two girls filmed their attacker beforehand but 6 years passed before they managed to arrest someone (who will stand trial in 2024).
The police never released how the girls died which added to the mystery. As well as the fact that lots of other suspects lied about their albums, the girls possibly had contact with a sex offended who wasn’t involved. It’s all just really odd.

I read it last summer. Very good book.

Forgot to mention Cindy James in my post, She was from Canada. She reported over 100 incidents of stalking to the police who in the end believed she was faking them all/doing it all herself.

She would get letters/threats wrapped around rocks thrown through her window, bangs at her door in them middle of the night, phone calls etc

She was later found dead in an abandoned house with her hands and feet tied behind her back, She had been beaten and drugged with morphine. The police ruled it a suicide..

The murder of those three young boys in West Memphis, Arkansas - known to most as the case of the West Memphis Three. If they didn't kill those boys, then who did?

Kate Bushell in Exeter in 1997. Was out walking a neighbour's dog one evening and was murdered. Has never been solved. Not long after, in Cornwall, Lynne Bryant was also murdered while out walking.

I think about the Caylee Anthony case sometimes. I remember seeing advertisement for a Crime+Investigation show a few months ago, that was an interview with Casey Anthony and I couldn’t watch it as I have my thoughts about her involvement.

So did her parents.

Was this the one where the room she ended up in had a group of young men in?
