I’m 4ft 10” & a bit creaky but can still throw a punch if required (starts limbering up)

IClaudine · 12/09/2023 10:10

I could make the tea! I have quite a strong kick, too.

In response to the announcement the government said: "The volume of sewage discharged is completely unacceptable. That is why we are the first government in history to take such comprehensive action to tackle it".

Hmm

They want a pat on the back for tackling the problem they caused

Sewage pipes into sea

Government may have broken law over sewage - watchdog

The UK's independent watchdog has been investigating Defra and the EA for failure to meet environmental law.

@DuncinToffee sssshhhh that’s the bit you’re not meant to say out loud.

I’m now imagining all government statements being sheepishly mumbled by the bowed head of Rishi.

RafaistheKingofClay · 12/09/2023 10:47

I have more than one issue with that. Firstly they are the first government in recent history to need to because of their own actions.

Secondly, I’m not sure it’s entirely historically accurate given 19th C public health reforms. Which does raise the question of why 13years if Tory rule has taken us back quite that far.

Errolwasahero · 12/09/2023 11:01

Fwiw, I can give quite a vicious glare if crossed… I might manage a few raspberries a la Monty python style?

I also have two dogs that could lick them to death.

And not just Sunak. The entire front bench was squirming. They know the game’s up now and they’re not even trying to hide it.

MrTiddlesTheCat · 12/09/2023 14:50

So why wasn't Britain party to that agreement?

You were only meant to hear and digest "first government in history" and "comprehensive".

They don't like us to remember they've been causing the issues for 13 years.

We just have to know that all the issues they created have been dealt with with world leading/ beating historical comprehensiveness!

DuncinToffee · 12/09/2023 08:42

Just look at Sunak's body language

https://x.com/Haggis_UK/status/1701265323469500823?s=20

Keir Starmer - "Something was missing, where was Britain.... a new agreement has been reached .... to deliver economic security & Britain is not involved... the PM owes the House an explanation... "

(Sunak wouldn't stand a chance with Zonder's cat, or other posters cats Grin)

He looks like the kid called to the HT office knowing they can't deny what they did and the HT witnessed it!

itsgettingweird · 12/09/2023 16:48

MrTiddlesTheCat · 12/09/2023 14:50

So why wasn't Britain party to that agreement?

That's what Starmer was asking.

Zonder · 12/09/2023 17:16

This is appalling. How dare he pretend he is far too busy and important reading the paper in front of him than listening to the question from the leader of the opposition. My cat will definitely be looking judgey at him.

He’s just phoning it in now. What is the point of him?

Piggywaspushed · 12/09/2023 17:25

In terms of skills for warfare, I do great Teacher Voice.

Notonthestairs · 12/09/2023 17:37

Sunak avoiding looking at Starmer - very obviously doesn't want to provide the answer.

Can the coup wait a few days? I have covid but would like to join in.

Otherwise I'll just bring up the rear sometime next week.

Cornettoninja · 12/09/2023 17:47

@Notonthestairs you could go undercover in the HoC cafeteria and deploy germ warfare licking all the cutlery... then we can strike!

I genuinely think you could make Rishi cry at the moment. There’s a very fine nerve balancing his composure.

BIossomtoes · 12/09/2023 17:50

I wonder if Starmer misses Johnson bellowing at him across the despatch box? It must be quite unnerving being greeted with scared faces.

Cornettoninja · 12/09/2023 18:05

I reckon it brings out the legal instinct in him. He’s probably faced that reaction a thousand times and knows that means he’s right and onto a baddun.

Roussette · 12/09/2023 18:57

Where is the braying, the shouting down of KS, the jeers from the tories?
Collective squeaky bum moment.

(I am good at lobbing eggs. Some will be hardboiled!)

Oh no. Hope you do t feel too rough with it.

itsgettingweird · 12/09/2023 20:17

My skills probably align somewhere with piggy's not a teacher - Im behaviour support specialist. I could do a fine kind, gentle but firm voice if "I thought we talked about this and you were going to try really hard in this situation in future" Grin

RafaistheKingofClay · 12/09/2023 20:44

What have I started? As it happens, looking at Rishi I don’t think we’re going to need the army.
