Looks so beautiful 😍 @Silkierabbit

Silkierabbit · 13/10/2023 14:55

Thank you WmFnKdSg1234 and Bizzey 😻

Silkierabbit · 13/10/2023 15:42

Argh just heard from kitchen guys they are not coming this afternoon as they are waiting for tiles to dry. No date when they are coming. And we have people starting work on outside of house on Monday for 3 weeks including doors and windows. Its only half a day left but gosh it's painful getting them to do that half day.

mathanxiety · 13/10/2023 15:55

Whyy yes, five. The youngest is 22 so I'm pretty much out of the woods, though there were definitely times when my mind would go back to the days when it was just me and DD1 and wonder why I thought a sibling would be a good idea, and then even more...

MissC I told my DCs that their weddings, if any, would be entirely up to them to plan and fund, and I admit I recommended elopement too Smile. I have two friends whose DDs have got married since covid, and have provided a shoulder to cry on a few times when relationships were fraying. The weddings themselves were lovely and all's well now between the mothers and daughters.

Silkies your kitchen looks adorable. The colour of the cabinets alone would make me want to get up in the morning just to go downstairs and gaze at them while sipping my tea.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 13/10/2023 18:51

Silkie, love the colour of the cabinets! The tile and features tiles look great, too. 😍
Math, it must be lovely to have a large group of kids. 🥰
Miss, one thing I can count on for US Thanksgiving is that Miracle on 34th Street will be on tv, I think, as well as Wizard of Oz. 🥰
Bizzey, managed any painting yet?

When Covid was really bad in '20 we celebrated whatever holiday was happening to lighten things up. I made a US style Thanksgiving dinner for my neighbour who was originally from there including green bean casserole and candied yams on American Thanksgiving day. It was fun!

Silkierabbit · 13/10/2023 18:55

That's impressive Math bringing up 5 children.

Thanks re the kitchen, am very happy with that colour, our old kitchen was the other way round, cream painted units and pale blue walls with oak worktops and I loved how calming it was.

DH is going away for the weekend.

Silkierabbit · 13/10/2023 18:56

Thanks Havoc That was a lovely thing to do for your neighbour, very kind.

MallardsMoorhensAndLethe · 13/10/2023 21:06

Glad your had progress Silkie.

I've been doing crosswords. I'm not very good at them!

Mumtobabyhavoc · 14/10/2023 02:31

Diabetes test was good. Doctor can't explain my symptoms and low blood sugar swings, though. I am to test my glucose when I feel symptoms and let doctor know. 🤷‍♀️

Have had ultrasound and have a cute baby foot pic. Little one was shy and lying curled face down and inward, so no classic foetal pic. Next aging is in 2 weeks.

Hope everyone had a good Friday evening.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 14/10/2023 03:41

Meant, next imaging.
🤷‍♀️

MallardsMoorhensAndLethe · 14/10/2023 04:17

A baby foot pic is sweet Havoc 👣

HelenaJustina · 14/10/2023 09:03

Kitchen looks gorgeous silkie and glad scan went smoothly Havoc

I’m waiting for DC2 to finish swim training, have been for first really autumnal feeling run (I needed a top layer on for warmth) Lots to do today DC2 has dance, DC4 has football and a party. I need to get DC2 and DC3 some sportswear. And DC1 should be doing some revision for mocks… Plus housework and laundry.

bizzey · 14/10/2023 10:01

Helena ..I am having my first cuppa of the day ...and am exhausted already just ready in reading your list for today !!🤣🤣

whyyy321 · 14/10/2023 10:21

I am so wildly impressed by all of you who have managed to go on to have more than one child! I assume I'll get there at some point 😂

Back still sore, feeling sorry for myself and fed up. Get so little time with DS it's a shame to be unable to really play with him this weekend.

On our way to visit a friend, have decided to take the train - DS keen at first but fast becoming bored!

MissConductUS · 14/10/2023 13:53

Silkie, your kitchen is gorgeous. I love the penguin tiles. I wish we could afford to redo ours, but it's pretty far down the list.

DH has wisely decided we need a wedding planner. There's just to much to do in too little time, and with DD two hundred miles away, it's just not practical for her to do a lot of the work. DH spoke to one yesterday who sounds fab and is going to give us a proposal on Monday. It's another expense, but I think she can probably get us better deals on some services than we could, and will keep us from making any expensive mistakes. We have a call in a few hours with the groom to be's parents in California.

If you all get bored to tears hearing about all of the wedding business, feel free to tell me to put a cork in it. 😀

bizzey · 14/10/2023 14:20

MissC ...I don't think any of us will get bored of the wedding planning !

Bring it on 🤣🤣!

We will be with you all the way !

Wedding planner sounds exciting!
I only know of them from films.

We just nipped to the registry office for ours 🤣

Trouble is the only wedding planner that sticks in my head is that crazy one from The Father of the Bride film with Steve Martin in it 🤣🤣

Silkierabbit · 14/10/2023 14:22

Hope call goes well MissC and its very interesting to hear all the planning.

Thanks Mallards How did the crosswords go.

Thanks Helena That sounds a very busy day but good to keep active.

Lovely to have a pic Havoc

Have a lovely visit why

DH has gone to France for a piano hobby weekend coming back tomorrow night.

DD is working in her punting job but got all her predicted grades now, all at A star so she's happy with that.

We had a start date for outside of house at Tuesday. Still awaiting a date for final kitchen work which is minimal but would like done - latest excuse is waiting for tiles to dry.

bizzey · 14/10/2023 14:25

Havoc ....
Painting you say 🤔🤔😟😟🤣!
Box of stuff is still in the hallway !

Had a busier than I thought week .
Mojo has gone now!

I wanted to do it all in one day, but think I will have to be realistic and spare 2 half days instead.

Determined to get it done by Friday though.

Plus ...I am the biggest procrastinator going ....

I need deadlines to get going !!

bizzey · 14/10/2023 14:26

Though everyone's lovely photos of their lovely houses are helping me get some motivation 😃!

Silkierabbit · 14/10/2023 14:50

DH is like that Bizzey everything is always getting done tomorrow which is always a shifting tomorrow. 😁

Resisterance · 14/10/2023 15:04

I'm in bed with raging period pain but also have to finish writing an essay for a professional qualification so am tapping that out on my laptop. I may make some pasta later and watch the new series of Ghosts on the BBC.

Pretty much everyone I know is at Filia in Glasgow being an ardent feminist and hanging out with mates. Life feels very dull here today.

HelenaJustina · 14/10/2023 17:43

Have achieved lots today, trying to remember that when I think about what’s left to go.

DC1 and DC3 spontaneously walked up to the ponies to meet DH DC4 and a friend who were already there. It’s about 3 miles cross-country but the fresh air and sunshine will have done them so much good.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 14/10/2023 18:45

Good morning everyone. 😊☁️
slept in until almost 9am! It was quite dark when I woke up and chalked that up to the clouds thinking we might be getting a downpour, but then remembered the eclipse was taking place, so put the NASA channel on for a bit. Very interesting! 🤓
Put together a breakfast of panettone, strawberries, grapes, banana and a latte. Havoc also had yoghurt.

Bizzey, start by removing any fixtures on the wall then wash the wall first. Tape the border, including ceiling as next step. Just break it down into stages. 😉

Why, can you get in to see a physio for an assessment to make sure it isn't anything serious? I understand you've got quite a wait there, so maybe a private appt?

Pic below isn't as clear after enlarging, but you'll get the idea. It's nice to share after being quiet about pregnancy these past 6 mos. I'm cautiously optimistic that we're out of the woods 🤞

Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news 26: Calmly through the day
Silkierabbit · 14/10/2023 18:49

Aww that pic is so sweet Havoc Just been hoovering after Floof here.

mathanxiety · 14/10/2023 18:49

I don't know if impressive is the right word, Silkies. There were many times when it all felt like the proverbial sausage factory. Or being bounced around in a rock tumbler.

Resisterance really hoping your period pain subsides. What misery.
Best wishes for your professional course.

MissC would it be helpful or a complete pita to have the parents of the groom involved in the planning/ financing?
