In the voice of Cpl Jones.

"Don't panic Capt Sunak"

"Hold your nerve"

"They don't like it up em".

We have a choice between extremely bad alternative outcomes

"Can anyone explain to me what he Goldsmith has done in his live to be a suitable person to be a peer?"

Isn't it enough that he was prepared to lend his holiday home to the Johnsons and gave Carrie a job?
What more do you need? Public service or something?

Also he needed something after losing his seat as MP for Richmond - pushback after racist remarks during London Mayoral election

I think that it is terrible that the people of Richmond so dislike freedom of speech that they voted him out for being racist.

Notonthestairs · 30/06/2023 11:23

If all Tory MPs that get voted out now receive peerages the HoL is going to need an extension. Perhaps we should rent a barge or something.

Can you imagine an industry awards ceremony where pretty much just names are put forward with no real rationale highlighted..

Never mind the privilege committee, they have mislead the high court too it seems

We have been waiting for this workforce plan for years…

It is utterly dismal.

It tells us that they are happy with the trajectory of healthcare in the U.K.

They are happy with a smaller NHS & growing private sector

Can’t believe anyone supports such a destructive Party!

Or send them to Rwanda.

ACOBA have agreed Grey can work for Labour (with 6 month gardening leave)

Acoba also expresses its "disappointment" at a series of anonymous briefings to the press, presumably by government:

"briefings of this nature, wherever they stem from, are injurious to a fair and confidential process...."

There has been no evidence provided to the Committee that Ms Gray’s decision making or ability to remain impartial was impaired whilst she remained in her Civil Service role"

(remember, Acoba is chaired by former Tory cabinet minister Lord Eric Pickles)

twitter.com/pickardje/status/1674769899036594176?s=46&t=Uw4lJNwxFZFnX0Xs3doHYg

Another manufactured news story whipped up by Mail, Telegraph etc.
Government is continuing to complain and will issue a written statement blah blah.

Beth Rigby tweeted this, I don't completely understnd it but reeks of desperation

NEW: “ Told a WMA has been laid for Mon - title ‘Prima facie breach of the Civil Service code by former 2nd Perm Sec for the Union & Constitution" > Gov source says it’ll confirm Gray & Lab broke civ service rules cos 4 mths of talks & didn’t tell perm sec or minsters as required

I haven't read the NHS workforce plan and have only seen headlines.
I will give them credit for FINALLY providing a plan and I am hoping that Hunt took something from his time as Chair of Health Select Committee.

But it will fall flat on its face without a resolution to existing issues of pay. Any change to training won't be felt for 5/6 years - we need to shore up staff now.

There is also the dire state of estate & infrastructure.

And there is no point having more doctors if we don't have decent social care or enough hospital beds.

13 years of underinvestment won't be undone that easily.

🤨 why does ACOBA bother reviewing anything - we will just leave Simon Case/Oliver Dowden to decide.

Cornettoninja · 30/06/2023 15:34

@Notonthestairs its a plan they can wave about knowing that they’re on their way out. They can set the bar where ever they like and when they’re the opposition use it to attack whoever’s in power. ‘Oh look what we would be doing’. Shame they’ve done so badly that the majority of the country can immediately see the ridiculousness of the statement.

It is a long term plan, just not the one they’re branding it as.

It did cross my mind the possibility they’re using chat gpt to write speeches now.

jgw1 · 30/06/2023 19:01

I a bit confused by one part of what has been in the headlines about the NHS plan today.
Appararently there will be more jobs for doctors and nurses.
I wasn't aware that the problem was a lack of jobs, but more a lack of doctors and nurses.

itsgettingweird · 30/06/2023 19:25

RafaistheKingofClay · 30/06/2023 09:09

I doubt they are paying for them. Exactly how many of my tax £s are being spent on the government using lawyers to fight things they are guaranteed to lose.

The question should.

Are these the same tofu eating wokerati lefty lawyers they are slating for not allowing them to break human rights laws?

Therapists could double up as dentists apparently so maybe it's a bogof plan

Well that depends on whether the government like the advice they are given. If they don’t like the advice then definitely tofu eating wokerati.

Anyone want to see a video of Rishi absolutely nailing an answer about the workforce plan and dentistry? You’re out of luck. There is this video though.

Grin fuckwit!

RafaistheKingofClay · 30/06/2023 19:53

I doubt Rishi is getting his dentistry done by ‘therapists or wherever they’re called’.

Brave to still have the 5 priorities on the wall behind him though.

Notonthestairs · 30/06/2023 20:55

New figures published by the Lib Dems reveal that more than 6.5 million children in England have not been seen by an NHS dentist for at least a year.

Chairman of the British Dental Association, Eddie Crouch tells ï¼ susannareid100 and ï¼ richardm56 that the high numbers could be down to a 'workforce problem' which has led to full waiting lists.

What, in the name of all that is holy, is he on about? Non trained people doing dentistry??

Honestly, he may not be so blatantly irritating in his lying like Johnson, but ye gods he is useless. I think this PM job is completely beyond him. Not a clue. Because of his background, his massive wealth, him being parachuted into this job,... absolutely clueless.

tobee · 01/07/2023 13:29

I just went to BBC Sport app to see how they summed up this morning's Ashes Cricket and see the announcement that Jonathan Agnew will be interviewing PM Rishi Sunak for the Saturday lunch break interview slot View from the Boundary. I won't be listening.

Maybe Tory HQ should have its bank account closed...
