In the voice of Cpl Jones.

"Don't panic Capt Sunak"

"Hold your nerve"

"They don't like it up em".

There will be a debate on the Privileges Committee Special Report on 10th July.

Notonthestairs · 29/06/2023 11:51

Maybe Sunak & ministers will turn up for that one.

I presume we can expect a return of the Johnson fans on that date to enlighted us as to why Keir's been is important.

I am just angry at how much time, energy and money is being wasted as they drag out what we know is the end game. Party before country every time.

This. Self before party before country in such a blatant way.

BREAKING: Rishi Sunak says he will appeal to the Supreme Court against the finding that his plan to deport refugees to Rwanda is unlawful.

He says the Rwandan Government has "provided the assurances necessary" that there is no risk to the refugees he sends there.

Have I understood Sunak correctly.

Sending migrants to Rwanda will deter other migrants from coming to the UK, because they won't want to go to Rwanda.
Rwanda is a lovely country so why wouldn't people be happy to be sent there.

What am I missing?

Here is his statement, the wording is quite strange

https://twitter.com/RishiSunak/status/1674378165261680640?s=20

It is this country – and your government – who should decide who comes here, not criminal gangs.

My statement on today’s ruling

Is he saying that a criminal gang has deliberately underfunded the asylum system thus losing control of who comes here?

Nah, that would be truthful and accurate.

L1ttledrummergirl · 29/06/2023 13:48

As well as illegal, the bill goes against every British value. You'd think that the Prime Minister would understand that.

Cornettoninja · 29/06/2023 13:48

They single out Nadine Dorries, Michael Fabricant, Jacob Rees-Mogg, Priti Patel, Mark Jenkinson and more

Shock/s

Everyday seems to bring another blow to the Tories. Poor loves

they’re massively overdue their ‘are we the baddies’ moment .

Anyone wanting an interesting read have a look at Bravermans latest Facebook post and the comments.

newnamethanks · 29/06/2023 23:20

Church eh? God gets all the best people. Poor thing.

DuncinToffee · 29/06/2023 23:42

Daily Express

Rishi Sunak is planning to SACK Suella Braverman in the next few weeks as he tries to save his govt with a Cab reshuffle

Tory source: “At the moment he is on course to miss all five of his pledges. Somebody has to take the blame and it won't be him."

Question time tonight. Who supports the Rwanda plan?

Question time tonight. Who supports the Rwanda plan?

Isn't it rather exaggerating to call it a plan?
Surely it is more of an idea or notion, plan suggests it has been thought through.

Notonthestairs · 30/06/2023 07:43

Government back in the high court today - this time to argue that they should have control of Johnson's diaries.

They just love paying lawyers don't they!

RafaistheKingofClay · 30/06/2023 09:09

I doubt they are paying for them. Exactly how many of my tax £s are being spent on the government using lawyers to fight things they are guaranteed to lose.

Zac Goldsmith has resigned

DuncinToffee · 30/06/2023 10:23

The report doesn't mention that the National Audit Office made near identical observations 10 years ago - and the Conservatives have done little to remedy it.

They aren't interested in fixing the system.
They just want headlines.
(Although only certain sorts of headlines - funny that the Home Office Inspection Report was released yesterday on such a slow news day. Coincidence? I think not)

Zac Goldsmith has resigned

So he found his conscience the day after the Privileges Committee report where he is named as one of those trying to intimidate the Committee.
🙄
Apparently he was told to apologise.
He went a different way.

Let's hope Mogg/Cruddas and maybe even Dorries are next!
