HoC are only sitting between 4th -19th September. Then Conferences until 15th October.

Quite a short window to fit in a by-election...

Oooh. my birthday is in mid September. That'd be a nice pressie.

RafaistheKingofClay · 09/06/2023 19:11

Conor Burns? Is he known for anything

RafaistheKingofClay · 09/06/2023 19:12

Half of my post has disappeared. It could stay as it is but should have finished

is he known for having done anything other than walking in on Carrie and Boris in the office.

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 09/06/2023 19:13

@Piggywaspushed Be careful what you wish for.
BJ could still play musical seats, and I really don't think swapping ND for BJ would count as an improvement.😱

@Piggywaspushed 👋🏻 🍾
She can't just quit...UK parliamentary by-elections - Wikipedia
Not sure how long it will take for the writ, but they generally don't do anything in July or August and most of Sept which is conference season.
I'd say min 6wks to organise, so you might be waiting now until Sept/Oct.

I thought she had quit doing anything useful as an MP ages ago?

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 09/06/2023 19:15

@RafaistheKingofClay were they playing tiddly winks? 🤣

"Ambushed by cake"
He also said there wasn't a cake. Confused

Oh I had thought that was Williamson (Lord). But I can't remember why I thought that!

Sorry, Sir Williamson.

Chiltern Hundreds for Dorries?

My autocorrect tried to make that Children Hundreds. But that sounds more about Boris Johnson.

Yes, some time in 2005, I think it was...

Was that the last time she gave a coherrent speech in parliament?

🤯 WTF is going on?

RafaistheKingofClay · 09/06/2023 20:11

I’m guessing the privileges committee report is bad.

Notonthestairs · 09/06/2023 20:12

Boris Johnson on Privileges Committee:

'It is very sad to be leaving parliament - at least for now - but above all I am bewildered and appalled that I can be forced out, anti-democratically, by a committee chaired and managed, by Harriet Harman, with such egregious bias'

Boris Johnson:

'I am being forced out by a tiny handful of people, with no evidence to back up their assertions, and without approval even of Conservative party members let alone the wider electorate.

'I believe that a dangerous and unsettling precedent is being set'

Possibly as an independent?

tobee · 09/06/2023 20:13

Please no to Dorries seat

tobee · 09/06/2023 20:14

So if he's innocent why is he being "forced out"?

Waaaaaaaaahhhhhh! It’s their fault they are being mean to me.

Blossomtoes · 09/06/2023 20:16

He’s resigned his seat.
