She is a woman without shame.

& a PM without any political sense.

And this

https://twitter.com/Haggis_UK/status/1671876091169112064?s=20

Rishi Sunak tells the public not to panic about the interest rate rise because he's "totally 100% on it, & it's going to be okay.... "

Well colour me reassured.

45 days in the job and you get rewarded
Hopefully someone will put a stop to it.

Dear Bank Manager,
Don’t worry about this month’s mortgage payment. I haven’t paid it but Rishi is 100% on it and it’s all going to be fine.

I couldn't understand why Rishi was saying that he wants to help people. Couldn't he start by paying at least the same proportion of his income in taxes as a nurse does?

RafaistheKingofClay · 22/06/2023 17:34

Nurses are slackers who go on strike though. Do we really want our PM to emulate that?

Not sure how you’d tell if the government was on strike tbh.

Why should she be able to draw a salary when she's not doing the job - AND blocking anyone else from doing the job?

It's the opposite of public duty.

And what's worse is that nobody from the party is prepared to stand up and say "No you can't sit on your arse for the next few months crying over the honours list, shift."

Wasn't the Prime Minister on strike on Monday?

Fantastic! I was looking for that a few weeks ago and no platform had it without paying for it!

This does feel a little bit as if someone in the BBC is trolling the government.

There's loads of things that should be learnt in the way parliament and the government conducts itself since Boris Johnson became prime minister. Loads of things that relied on a ridiculous Victorian gentleman's agreement code of ethics that needs serious looking into.

The aptly named Cleverley was on the radio this morning. Oddly he seemed keen to tell us that the Prime Ministers plan to reduce inflation by the end of the year was to do with apprentices. No really he did.

Easy, innit? We can save a fortune in salaries by using apprentice doctors and surgeons, apprentice policemen, apprentice train and bus drivers, apprentice firemen, apprentice judges, apprentice prison guards, apprentice sewage engineers, apprentice pilots and ship's crew. What can possibly go wrong?

Is that also his plan to have a high wage economy?

itsgettingweird · 23/06/2023 07:23

I wouldn't put it past them to lower the wage of many by increasing apprenticeships so the poor wages else where don't look so bad.

InMySpareTime · 23/06/2023 07:48

With the bonus of having a load of people with completed Apprenticeships just in time for it to be Labour's problem.
I assume people on Apprenticeships don't stay on low wages forever and the Workfare strategy of sacking them at the end for a new batch of Apprentices doesn't work any more.

We already have volunteers working as police officers. No salaries to pay at all there...

Makes it difficult to move jobs too. Tried to move upcountry to be nearer my sister a few years ago. Should have been relatively simple to find a job in one of her local hospitals. Nope. All of the externally advertised equivalent jobs in her hospital were being offered as apprenticeships. Nothing if you already had the qualification.
