If I were HOLAC I'd just point to the transcript of the Select Committee where she lied about Ch 4.

I like the bit where she says her office is functioning as usual serving the people of her constituency. I'm sure they wouldn't notice the difference if it were shut.

She's probably put all the notes for her 17th novel to one side and is in negotiations with her publisher about the tell-all memoirs she's suddenly decided to write instead.

Oh my, WTF is Dorries doing? I don't think she actually knows. She flounced with immediate effect last week and now seems to have announced an inquiry into why she hasn't got a peerage - because she was shit and did fck all perhaps?

So it appears she's still there, and I assume doing nothing for her constituents while she has a 'where's my honour' tantrum, and presumably we're still paying her for the privilege? I despair!

Also I know what you mean about Johnson not wanting to be LOTO, but I just feel we'll see him again somehow, like the proverbial bad penny.

I wonder if the "Big Dog" posse thought there were going to be lots of resignations so Sunak would need to pacify them. But the resignations didn't materialise so the early movers (Dorries/Adams) look stupid.

Dorries thought she was still going to be in the thick of it and now she's realises that no seat in the commons or the Lords means she will fade into obscurity. Which she doesn't want.

What is there to investigate?

I thought HOLAC had made it clear that there is no such thing as a deferred appointment to the HoL?

Even if Sunak had implied that he would nominate her for a peerage if she stayed in her seat till the next election, she still wouldn’t be on this list.

I think many of them are in politics for the parties, and the consequent opportunities for advancement.

Imagine if Boris had put as much effort into being PM as he had scrutinising the privileges committee report and doing a lone be line rebuttal. He probably wouldn’t have this problem for a start.
