The thing about them not checking the rules is too perfect. Always funnier when they do it to themselves.

A couple of noticeable absences from this thread. I do hope their heads don't explode during re-programming.

There’s a bit where Piers Morgan asks her whether Boris might have misled her and she’s absolutely adamant he wouldn’t do that.
I’d be pissed off too. It’s not like there’s any other way she’s going to end up with a place in the HoL. No one else is mad enough to give her one.

I don't know why your post made me laugh but it did! Yes, I agree.... she knows the ship has sailed. BJ promised her something. He lied. Normal.

She won't have another bite of the cherry, no one would be mad enough. Her political career is over. And quite possibly BJ will ditch her too, I imagine he moves on from people who can't boost his ego fairly quickly.

About peerages, Charlotte Owen

https://twitter.com/MartinRemains/status/1667963696067354624?s=20
She will be Lady Owen. She has not yet distinguished herself in any public service in any way whatsoever. She may yet do so but she should not be entering the House of Lords now. Something is wrong. Surely, this needs to be investigated.

There's a degree of sniggering on Twitter about references to her working under Boris.

DuncinToffee · 13/06/2023 09:51

To be fair to Dorries, at least she has experience, especially compared to Charlotte Owen.

It must hurt that she has been replaced by a newer model.

They're busy trying to derail the other thread about the Privileges committee.

Johnson constantly claimed that leaving parties were essential for keeping up morale. Which doesn't say a lot for working conditions in no. 10.

I constantly wonder about these claims that he's so bright. Surely it doesn't take Einstein to work out that actually no, a leaving party is never going to be reasonably necessary for work purposes? Everyone else outside no. 10 managed it.

L1ttledrummergirl · 13/06/2023 10:19

Thanks@DuncinToffee, I'll try and catch this through today.

DuncinToffee · 13/06/2023 10:29

It's hearbreaking and very difficult to watch.

The whole thing is just Boris Johnson’s tenure as PM summed up but screwing themselves over instead of us. It’s amazing. The fact that they are so furious about it makes me smile every time I think about it.

So this is what those of us in the nhs were doing wrong. We should have been having leaving parties and it would all have been fine.

The rate staff are leaving we could have had loads.

It is so pathetic and goes along with all these stupid nicknames he had for the ministers. He just wanted to be everyone's friend all the time and leaving parties going on when they shouldn't be just made him a cool dude I suppose

Daily Mail's new approach

https://twitter.com/AdamBienkov/status/1668489678813626369?s=20

So it turns out that everything that's gone wrong in the last 13 years is the fault of a future government that doesn't yet exist, rather than the current one which does

Saucery · 13/06/2023 12:44

Shows the Mail is running scared. And arf at the sinister forces preventing Nads from entering the HOL.

Interest rates likely to hit 5.75% spelling misery for millions of home owners in a cost of living crisis. A "sign that markets think the UK has the worst inflation problem in the rich world."

https://www.cityam.com/bank-of-england-to-hoist-interest-rates-to-5-75-per-cent-as-experts-warn-uk-inflation-is-out-of-control/

This cannot be true.
Sunak pledged to halve inflation by the end of the year, and achieve it he will, much like he has stopped the boots and brought honesty integrity and lying to the centre of government.

Ah, so Nadine is far smarter than the rest of us.
This whole performance has been to demonstrate to us the utter absurdity of the HoLs and to garner support for Labour's policy of abolishing it.
