Yes, Ukraine has already blown a dam up.

Taking the rouble, are we?

Yes, Ukraine has already blown a dam up.

Taking the rouble, are we?

Would be a slightly less embarrassing explanation than actually believing it.

FructoviPresse · 07/06/2023 22:39

What nonsense is this? I am sorry I am in a state. I didn't see anything telling me what I could or could not post here.

Post what you like but when you start of with bull about women being drafted expect to be told what others think of your opinion.

I hate this war, hate the death and suffering. It won't stop until the Kremlim orders the withdrawal of its military.

Just stopping the fighting doesn't work. The abducted children are all from occupied areas of Ukraine. The purges of teachers, academics, civil servants, anyone suspected of wanting to remain Ukrainian...all in occupied areas. That won't stop with the fighting.

All the while knowing what the Kremlin really wants, what it will wait for if necessary, is to take Kiev and erase Ukraine, what they thought they could, and tried to do in Feb last year.

prettybird · 07/06/2023 22:53

Check out what the Baltic states say about appeasement of Russia: essentially don't ever give Putin an inch as he will take a mile. And they were saying this before the February 2022 invasion Sad

The rest of the world's big mistake was letting Putin get away with his annexation of Crimea in 2014. Plus Transnistria, plus South Ossetia, plus Aleppo, plus, plus, plus.... SadAngry

You ALWAYS know when the Russians are in trouble

Like the proverbial bad pennies Hmm

ReleaseTheDucksOfWar · 07/06/2023 23:02

lol

but to address the relevant points why I think this one's yet another shill:

  1. new poster

  2. Trying to make everyone as bad as each other. All large countries have significant flaws, but some are worse than others. Very typical of shills to try to drag everyone down.

  3. Whataboutery "But America!"

  4. "poor brave Ukrainians haven't they suffered enough". Dear God, the number of times I've read that from people who call the Donbas Donbass, and think Putin was provoked.

  5. Lies. Women are 'not being taken". They are volunteering - men have been conscripted but not women.

  6. that all men of working age have been drafted Absolute fucking bullshit and far too many people here have relatives/friends in Ukraine for this lie to have a chance of floating.

  7. Both sides need to see reason and get to negotiating a peace. Ah yes, this. Why don't you suggest that to Putin?

  8. absolute ridiculous alarm mongering about WW3. Absolutely typical of Russian farms.

  9. Every time something significant starts, here we go again. The Russian farms start churning this out. It seems an oh-so-remarkable coincidence that this happens just now, doesn't it. Especially when filled with so many .... inaccuracies.

I have a brother in the Paras and a younger sister about to pass out at Halton.

Would that be the indoor air quality company?

I don’t usually post, but I follow these threads for information and insights. The attack on the dam is horrific, and I want to do something to help. Is there somewhere I could donate? I think I donated to the Ukrainian government early on, but I don’t have the link any more. Thank you!

yes, as @Mb76 said, UNITED24 is excellent.

DrBlackbird · 07/06/2023 23:04

Either Russia loses or Ukraine loses

Russia loses.

Well, that was an easy choice.

L1ttledrummergirl · 07/06/2023 23:05

FructoviPresse · 07/06/2023 22:26

I only followed this one because of the dam. I have a brother in the Paras and a younger sister about to pass out at Halton. I appreciate their choices to be in the forces. I cannot stomach the gung ho military bravado they regularly go on about, even if they are my flesh and blood. I am a weirdo flower power type. Each to their own.

I hate what is going on and I hate anyone bringing up the prospect of WWIII because they're now caring about a thing that has already happened in this war. Yes, Ukraine has already blown a dam up. Did we start WWIII then? NO!!!

Of all the military people I know (daughter, wife, mother of them), none have this gung ho attitude that you say your siblings have. That's usually removed in the first few weeks of training, therefore, I don't believe your statement as it goes against everything I know about the British military.

I also disagree with you about armistice day, and how we remember those who fought for our freedoms. We don't fawn, it's personal.

L1ttledrummergirl · 07/06/2023 23:07

@FructoviPresse, I also think you need to improve your English, but I suspect saying this means this comment will be deleted.

DrBlackbird · 07/06/2023 23:07

And thanks for posting again about United24. My husband and I were talking about wanting to donate again. He commented on how a dam bursting in any other country would have the whole INGO community mobilising to organise humanitarian relief, but silence so far. Disappointing. I mean, no they’re not going to go to a war zone necessarily but at least organising donations.

All great superpowers are exactly the same, in the way of greed, in the way they act, in their psychopathic pursuits. They are also unaccountable to war crimes, genocides past and present, colonisation, racism, poverty. To see it as the good guys vs the bad guys is cable tv simplistic.

Well, there's a lot of problems in America.

But I hadn't noticed them killing 1 in 5 of the population as happened under Stalin https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Excess_mortality_in_the_Soviet_Union_under_Joseph_Stalin#Modern_estimates

Or mass deporting millions. Or starving them through Holodomor and the Qazak mass famines.

Then you have China, and the mass famine there that was man-made. 15-55 million. Plus of course no freedom of press, so young Chinese don't even know about Tianamen Square.

Personally, for all its flaws and for all the serious errors it's made - I think the US is way better.

It's also very clear you don't know anyone who grew up under the Soviet regimé. People had to watch what they said on the street in a way that is unthinkable now, at least in the GDR.

The West acted terribly towards East Germany after the Wall fell. But people were literally willing to pay with their lives to have the freedom of speech that you take for granted.

Just donated to United24, specifically for defence and gave extra as well due to the likes of FructoviPresse.

When I get mad at 💩, I donate.

ReleaseTheDucksOfWar · 07/06/2023 23:19

Now that's a nice idea. Every time we get a shill, all donate 2 euros.

I like the idea of extra donations every time a Shill posts. Smile

I'll be donating extra in the morning Grin

ponders how much extra it will be by then Wink

ReleaseTheDucksOfWar · 07/06/2023 23:29

@Sittwritt I'm sorry - I was harsh there. I do believe you are mistaken, that there are very much shades of grey, but I shouldn't have been so in-your-face.

All I can say in excuse there is that for the last 15 years I've had dealings with Russian bullshit-merchants and it's made me too short of temper even for genuine people.

FructoviPresse · 07/06/2023 23:31

Anyone going to address the part where you called me a shill and I refuted it, or are you all going to quietly ignore it?

I've reported posts that have outright attacked my nature. Disgusting behaviour.

DrBlackbird · 07/06/2023 23:31

Thanks for suggestion @MissConductUS we’ll donate to United24 and donate to u hearts to help fill the cookie jar in honour of the guests Wink

Really? yet another mistake of yours is it?

because most Ukrainians recommend -not- giving to the Red Cross ;) and giving to UNITED 24 instead.
