Beat me to it!!! Just came to post that. Saw it on sky breaking news.

Just makes the plot thicken even more.

We know it won't show him in good light.

My guess is that more so it'll throw some current government members right under the bus with him and this is as much revenge as him saying "I think I was right and always did the best I could".

He can't seriously be deluded enough to think the enquirers won't show he made massive bad decisions at the time?

I would be most surprised if the enquiry found that Johnson made bad decisions.

I thought the entire problem with him was that he refused to make any decisions until all the options ranged from bloody awful to bodies piling high?

StormShadow · 02/06/2023 18:52

I wonder if the enquiry will look at issues like this?

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/may/31/black-people-england-wales-more-likely-issued-pandemic-fines-police-study?CMP=share_btn_tw

It was after all an inevitable consequence of the Tory decision to treat a public health emergency as a criminal law matter, and to give the police such new and wide ranging powers.

Surely everyone knows that its only poor people who commit real crimes.

Rich people don't really commit crimes, or at least not ones that count. For example a bit of cake and wine on your birthday is fine as long as it is champagne, but if it was beer that would be bad.

And black, if these figures are anything to go by.

A so-called Section 19 application seeks to give ministers a fall-back should their judicial review fail

Well they are probably illegal anyway.

DuncinToffee · 02/06/2023 19:29

Sunak must be so happy with the whole Schofield affair to distract from the question 'what is he hiding'

I don't think there even is a thread on here.

I'd like to know what they are trying to hide that we don't yet know. What on earth could be worse than what we already know?

There is always worse...

My money is on there being discussion about how to personally take financial advantage of the situation for them and their mates. Like discussions on how to set up new companies to get PPE money and who would be best to be in charge of track and trace in terms of making money out of it.

DuncinToffee · 03/06/2023 09:17

The Tories deleted this video.

- They spent OUR money on their propaganda (No. 10 account)

- Completely and purposely misrepresented what the country’s priorities are.

- And then obscures any reality of how it’s addressing them anyway.

Stop the boats? We’re out of eggs FFS.

I guess the King want thrilled to be used in a party political broadcast. That, and the video was total nonsense.

DuncinToffee · 03/06/2023 09:38

Either he had a word or they realised their mistake with the 18million Japan deal.

The other lies wouldn't have bothered them.

Exclusive: Govt in fresh legal bid to stop Covid inquiry from publishing WhatsApps + other documents

A so-called Section 19 application could allow the Cabinet Office to keep even redacted messages secret, should their judicial review fail

When the Covid Inquiry holds a preliminary meeting on Tues, sources expect it to confirm Govt considering the draconian step of a Section 19.

If successful, key participants in the inquiry would not be given access to the documents - and they would not be made public for years.

Someone tweeted this...

"Here is a question
If Johnson has not voted 187 times of 190
If Dorries has voted less than a dozen times since July 2022
Why do we have to pay salary and expenses
Office space can be reduced - maybe number of MPs needs to be as well as some are just not there"

Why in god's name are we paying these people? They are not representing us.

Notonthestairs · 03/06/2023 10:37

I can't work out whether the Chair of the Inquiry decides whether or not to apply s19 restriction OR whether a Minister can override the Chair and apply a restriction.

Well we can see why Mogg didn't want MPs clocking in & out!

It's just not easy to remove lazy MPs. But I can't understand why constituents are not up in arms - they are basically left i without representation.
I think our standards have just dropped so low we don't demand better.

I think he has realised how humiliating it will be to lose his seat in Uxbridge because he has paid them a visit.
And is tweeting about re-opening Uxbridge police station which he was instrumental in closing down as London Mayor.

Someone tweeted... " we ought to let the Police know, there's a fat bloke with blond hair who keeps approaching people in the town centre. Well dodgy" 😂

StormShadow · 03/06/2023 12:17

I get the impression he doesn't want to contest Uxbridge and is eyeing a safer seat.

newnamethanks · 03/06/2023 12:18

What is the safest Tory seat in England? Does anyone know?

I want him to stay in Uxbridge and get beaten.
Because there was a rumour my constituency might be put forward for him.... please no... I hadn't planned to move at my age 😂

newnamethanks · 03/06/2023 12:34

Oh Rousette, not after putting up with Tufton Bufton for so long, life couldn't be so cruel, I hope.☝

Not England but Banff and Buchan is the safest in England, Scotland and Wales combined.
