My db was a bus driver in Cheltenham that week. He had to work and was ill a couple of weeks later. There were no covid tests then.
Fortunately he had mild symptoms but I remember being fucking furious that he, and others, had been put in harms way for no reason other than greed.

I'd love to see the wa around that decision.

Chris Patten, "We criticise China for trying to cover up where the corona virus came from. It would be lamentable if we tried to cover up what was happening in this country." #BBCQT - follow for more

Oh my goodness, your poor dB, what a relief he came through it.
The spike from that Festival was horrendous.

His team say he was given security advice at the time never to turn the phone back on.

Did he think he was in a Mission Impossible episode?

DH, a scientist, says it would be a much more serious exposure than inhalation as it would get into your blood and therefore organs much faster.

As a largely cardiovascular disease, it’s probably not something you’d want to try.

You’re essentially by passing all the bits of your innate immune system that fight of viruses you come into contact with.

Apart from anything else can you imagine the damage that would have done to the vaccine program if he’d done that and it had gone seriously wrong?

All the definitions I've just looked up of messages tell me that other people receive them. So Boris Johnson "losing" his phone does not matter. Because a record will exist on the recipient's phone.

Your WhatsApp messages are also accessible via WhatsApp web - don’t even need a phone!

Please confirm whether in March 2020 (or around that period), you suggested to senior civil servants and advisors that you be injected with Covid-19 on television to demonstrate to the public that it did not pose a threat?

Fuck me. Did we know about that? I know ‘Let the bodies pile high’ Dom let out the bag.

The same covid 19 he apparently nearly died from and it was so serious they were discussing what priest be called to his bedside 🤔🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I thought the latest story twist was that he needed a tracheostomy 🤔

(laughed at by medical people)

I haven't heard the Duncin but they talk so much crap it wouldn't surprise.

My the end of this enquired all his defenders are doing to have him having had all limbs amputated as a result and think we believe it just because they said it.

They really do hold the general public in such contempt.

We have had some terrible PMs and governments in the past but this has to be the worst?

Roussette · 01/06/2023 21:03

"We have had some terrible PMs and governments in the past but this has to be the worst?*

Yep. Some have worried me, some have frustrated me, some have angered me, but I've never had that all in one government

All of the crap has been normalised since 24th July 2019. So we've been brainwashed into accepting lower standards.

Yes

Yes. Johnson. Truss. Sunak. They all got their hands dirty proroguing Parliament, supporting Paterson & Pincher (until it suited them not to), went along with the Partygate lies, swore blind there was an Oven Ready Deal, resisted publishing the Russia Report, handing out public money & contracts to stooges.
All still at it.
They are the Blob.

That’s the family photo they wanted to release officially but couldn’t because it showed them not social distancing. So Boris was told at the time that it showed them breaking the rules.

Notonthestairs · 02/06/2023 08:52

Robert Peston has asked a sensible question regarding Johnson's phone - why on earth hasnt it been checked since April 2021 for hacking? Why wasnt it handed over to the Security Services then?
It might have been useful as part of the Partygate & Privileges Committee investigations. Surely it would have exonerated him?!

Notonthestairs · 02/06/2023 08:56

From the Conservative Party's 2019 general election manifesto:

"We will ensure that judicial review... is not abused to conduct politics by another means or to create needless delays."

Oh yes. This one is all about delays.

DuncinToffee · 02/06/2023 09:01

We have a few old phones lying around but all the things on there have either been transferred to the new phone or backed up elsewhere.

Surely nobody buys Johnson's lie excuse

And a reminder that Bethell also replaced his phone in 2021

https://twitter.com/carolvorders/status/1664542106839310337?s=20
This Tory government disgusts me.
Bethell was the Minister in charge of Covid Contracts. He was a close ally of Hancock. Bethell did a lot of dealing on his phone. Guess what? He replaced his phone in 2021 cos the other one was "broken".. Well well well who'd have thought it?
