Its just mid term blues, local elections don't mean anything. You wait until inflation is down to 9.7% and the small boats have been stopped. Then you will see that Brexit is getting done and the Tories will triumph again.

All the bots will be busy with the script soon.

1014 Grin

Only 1012 now, the Tory resurgence is starting.

The BBC were trying to convince me on the radio that it would be a hung parliament after the next GE election with the SNP pulling the strings.

Project fear has started.

I think it was in the Telegraph, but there was an analysis of the Red Wall and an interview with a "typical voter" who gave the Tories a chance and isn't doing so a second time.

One of their reasons being "Brexit is done" and so there's no need for the Tories.

It just goes to show how ungrateful the British public are.
Boris got Brexit done and then had to resign due to a few trivial indiscretions.
What has Starmer ever done in his life except have a beer?

That’s my fault. I opened the bottle when we hit 1000. I may have jinxed things.

I may have followed your example.

RafaistheKingofClay · 05/05/2023 19:34

We can take the blame together then.

newnamethanks · 05/05/2023 19:43

Alleluia!!!! Thank you voters all, and everyone on here too who has let me rant on without complaint since these swine hijacked the country. Light at the end of the tunnel. Haven't felt so relieved since 1997.

Apparently Redcar and Cleveland council are stopping counting till Tuesday so we won't know the end result till then but hopefully the other 9 can pull their fingers out and get done today. It's been glorious watching that number get higher and higher today. 😁

When I read that I was a bit concerned that I couldnt maintain this level of happiness until then!

I hope we can keep these threads going til the GE, it will be great to chart the night's progress here.

You don't have to wear a seatbelt if you're driving around your Russian mate's private estate.

Lonelycrab · 05/05/2023 19:59

1066 would be a good end number. The Sun could do a really good headline.

DuncinToffee · 05/05/2023 18:41

Well done Nat6999 DS, pretty amazing for a 19 year old.

He wants to be an MP before he is 30 if possible, not bad for a school refuser who's school told him he would never amount to anything.

Blossomtoes · 05/05/2023 20:11

jgw1 · 05/05/2023 19:05

I'm worried for the level of excitement at the GE next year.

I think I might burst.

Roussette · 05/05/2023 20:22

Nat6999 · 05/05/2023 18:39

Ds stood for our local area as Green candidate, he came third with Lib Dem keeping their seat & Labour second, it wasn't a target ward which meant he couldn't go door knocking or a budget for leaflets & posters. He still got 800 votes & beat the Tories who only got 312 votes, for a 19 year old standing for the first time he is quite pleased, his friend who was in a target ward only got 478 votes & came fourth. He will stand again next year & it looks like it will be a target ward.

Just catching up but congratus to your Son. Well done him x

Roussette · 05/05/2023 20:26

Wow! Just got back and caught up (although I had a WA from DCs telling me over 1000)

I am pissed off its the bloody Coro tomorrow and we can't rub their faces in it

Blossomtoes · 05/05/2023 20:39

We have months to rub it in @Roussette.

countrygirl99 · 05/05/2023 20:59

Well 2 terms of ignoring hos constituents wasn't sufficient for our Councillor to lose. I'm expecting just as many moans about non responses to queries but he still got more than 3x the next candidate the next candidate 🤷‍♀️

SerendipityJane · 05/05/2023 20:59

Redditch have elected an 18 year old Labour councillor ...

DuncinToffee · 05/05/2023 21:01

-1054 with 4 councils still to declare
