I’m opening the Prosecco when we get to 1000.

I'm saving the celebrations for a GE (if it turns out the way it needs to). But I will raise a toast tonight.

UniPsychle · 05/05/2023 18:09

It's a beautiful day, hey hey Grin

I bought it to liven up tomorrow but this seems like a better opportunity.

855 with 36 left to declare if the BBC stats are right.

My area is true blue, usually 75% of seats are tory and 25% libdem. I don't think it's ever had a labour seat. If my council falls then I'll start to believe these fuckwits will eventually fuck off.

Did you have elections yesterday?

So that’s why they are making it easier to find non Tory councils.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

DuncinToffee · 05/05/2023 18:16

Did you have elections yesterday?

Yes but I think they're going for the slowest counters medal seeing as the rest of the party have taken all the other incompetency awards.

itsgettingweird · 05/05/2023 18:29

RafaistheKingofClay · 05/05/2023 17:09

687 now and they’ve only declared 2 more councils.

And they're still claiming it's a victory because it's not the predicted 1000 (yet!)

Blossomtoes · 05/05/2023 18:30

883 now. Looks as if it’ll hit 1,000. Yes, it’s a beautiful day all right.

itsgettingweird · 05/05/2023 18:31

No seat losses for the Tories here, which they probably will be claiming as a triumph.
The absence of elections may though be a factor.

Same here. Braverman loves to twattle on another year. But only because she wasn't up for debate!

Omg we've gone libdem and labour won a seat too. 11 con seats to 29 libdem.

We've maintained LD hold.

I could actually cry. I'm not even in the UK but still watching the devastation being unleashed. I can't even begin to imagine the awfulness for the people stuck in the middle of it.

Ds stood for our local area as Green candidate, he came third with Lib Dem keeping their seat & Labour second, it wasn't a target ward which meant he couldn't go door knocking or a budget for leaflets & posters. He still got 800 votes & beat the Tories who only got 312 votes, for a 19 year old standing for the first time he is quite pleased, his friend who was in a target ward only got 478 votes & came fourth. He will stand again next year & it looks like it will be a target ward.

pointythings · 05/05/2023 18:40

@Nat6999 that's really encouraging, and well done to your DS for taking that on.

DuncinToffee · 05/05/2023 18:41

Well done Nat6999 DS, pretty amazing for a 19 year old.

RafaistheKingofClay · 05/05/2023 18:42

Well done @Nat6999

Labour have won Thanet from NOC. Isn’t that Farage’s old stomping ground?

Blossomtoes · 05/05/2023 18:42

That’s bloody brilliant. You did a good job there @Nat6999.

Notonthestairs · 05/05/2023 18:44

That's something to be really proud of NAT6999. 19 and so engaged in local politics. Good on him.
