Just a reminder that the first cost of living payment of £301 will start being paid from today. Any time up until May 17th. Keep an eye on your bank accounts!

Fingers crossed it's in today for you.

Trinity65 · 27/04/2023 23:16

Evening all

Checked again just now and mine is there, though wasn't there about midday so keep checking, folks.
Hope it works out well for those still waiting.

Can I ask why you get 2? Surely you have a joint claim?

No. We are separated.

Still nothing. I'm starting to get a bit bothered about it tbh. It was far more prompt last year. I don't like this. They DO cock up after all.

Same here nothing. I'm wondering if I'll even get it this time

Same here. I'm wondering what to do. Was beginning to really bank on it 😱

Ostryga · 28/04/2023 07:47

No need to worry until after the 17th of May. There’s millions of payments to get out and they’re random, so just because you got them early last time doesn’t mean it will be the same this time.

If you qualify you will get it.

This is what's worrying me. I mean it's the DWP. They're hardly a bastion of efficiency at the best of times.

I definitely do qualify. I'll just have to keep 🤞🏻

Sadless · 28/04/2023 08:20

There was something about payments being paused last night. Google it think it has something to do with bank holiday. So if you haven't received it today it won't be till at least Tuesday now.

Cherylliam86 · 28/04/2023 08:33

Yes that’s right @Sadless i read this too… so no payments today (Friday) or Monday the bank holiday… so back to checking banks Tuesday 😊 xx

Eightiesgirl · 28/04/2023 08:43

@Beachbreak2411 I'm so sorry to read of your situation. Is there a local Facebook page you could post on asking for help anonymously (people could then private message you)? Someone on my local Facebook page did this last week and the response she got was amazing. We all struggle at times and ive been where you are. Please ask for help, you can't go without food.

I definitely qualify as I've checked, triple checked and been reassured I do.

Just hard when bills are mounting up. Thankfully rent has been paid 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Fingers crossed for next week.

Please could someone help me; am I eligible for this? This was my first assessment period. Thank you!

HistoryFanatic · 02/05/2023 11:20

@whammam Your payment had to be between end of January-end of February so no you won't be eligible. Hopefully the next one you will be.

I don't think so as you had to have got some better 26 jan and 25 feb

Unless you were getting tax credits during those dates then that might make you eligible but I'm not sure how it works if you've changed over

Oh no. What a shame! Thought it was just the assessment period not there actual payment.
