Just a reminder that the first cost of living payment of £301 will start being paid from today. Any time up until May 17th. Keep an eye on your bank accounts!

@happyinherts you have been told wrong.

From gov.uk
If you live with your partnerYou will both need to claim for Universal Credit. You must make a joint claim for your household, even if your partner is not eligible. How much you can get will depend on your partner’s income and savings, as well as your own.
If one of you has reached State Pension ageIf only one of you has reached State Pension age, you and your partner can still claim Universal Credit as a couple. Your Universal Credit claim will stop when you both reach State Pension age.
If you’re getting Pension Credit, it will stop if you or your partner make a claim for Universal Credit. You’ll usually be better off staying on Pension Credit. You can check using a benefits calculator.

Check your State Pension age

Work out your State Pension age and Pension Credit qualifying age

Thank you so much, @Highworth. All seems a bit odd, but I'll try it. Grateful x

Mines hit my account today. Standard UC claim. Surname is at the end of the alphabet so maybe working backwards this time.

Oh fuck, my surname begins with an A 🤣

ladygindiva · 25/04/2023 14:58

itsgettingweird · 25/04/2023 14:20

Got mine.

Surname begins with B!

Oooh that's reassuring

RaininSummer · 25/04/2023 15:03

As above can claim as a couple if one getting state pension and one not. However unless there is rent on the claim, the pension will probably wipe out any entitlement.

Outnumberedmummy2022 · 25/04/2023 15:03

I’m B too. Nothing in my account x

Eightiesgirl · 25/04/2023 15:45

Can I please ask to those who have received it, does it only go in overnight or can it appear at any time during the day?

Melodybogwot · 25/04/2023 16:03

I think it's usually after midnight @Eightiesgirl I checked last night at half twelve and two am, and then earlier. Not desperate or anything 😥😂

Eightiesgirl · 25/04/2023 16:11

@Melodybogwot thanks, I'm exactly the same, I checked after midnight and then I keep checking throughout the day. I'll leave it now till tomorrow morning.

I got a letter for between 2nd and 6th. On tax credits

I got the letter from tax credits saying between 2nd and 6th.
Last time I got my payment from the DWP and not tax credits. I still get esa.

SausageMonkey2 · 25/04/2023 16:23

Is this the same one if you just get DLA / CDP in Scotland?

FatGirlSwim · 25/04/2023 16:32

I got a text saying from 25th April. Legacy benefits but not just tax credits - income support etc. Surname at start of alphabet.

That's later in the year. (Not sure if a date has been announced yet)

Not got mine yet. But got it last as the same date as my ESA which I'm due on Thursday.

Mjh17 · 25/04/2023 16:53

Chelbell2017 · 25/04/2023 17:15

Chelbell2017 · 25/04/2023 17:16

@Mjh17 are you with monzo just wondering as I've not had a notification yet probably means mines not Thursday 😭

Mjh17 · 25/04/2023 17:33

Chelbell2017 · 25/04/2023 18:59

wholerhubarbcustard · 25/04/2023 19:43

Me and my sister twins same initials: she got hers I didn't get mine? I'm voting it's just random. Last payment I got mine a week before her 🤷‍♀️

wholerhubarbcustard · 25/04/2023 19:44

Also both on UC

DeadButDelicious · 25/04/2023 19:54

Hasn't landed yet, it was a few days the first time and the first day the second so I'm not too worried, the energy bill can bloody wait till it comes. Got a payment in February so I know it's coming. Surname is towards the beginning of the alphabet.

My surname begins with A and got mine today so I don't think it's to do with surnames

Melodybogwot · 26/04/2023 03:37
