I want to live by the sea

Any suggestions please.? Id like somewhere with beautiful views and country walks.
Not too remote. I can work remotely so dont have to worry about a commute. Ideally I'd like a 3-4 bed house. I can spend 350-400 k

Well I am currently looking at the sea and have three different woodland walks behind me and am off to the theatre tomorrow so not so remote but north of Scotland so a bit cold at times. Are you looking for England/wales locations OP?

Lulu1919 · 10/04/2023 17:53

As in a home with a Sea view or somewhere that's not far to the sea ?

Omg- that sounds amazing

MarkWithaC · 10/04/2023 17:55

Friends of mine moved to Lyme Regis a while ago and love it. Possibly a bit too un-remote though; they say the beach gets very busy on nice days/holidays.

Member869894 · 10/04/2023 17:57

That sounds amazing budda but it has to be England or Wales. A sea view would be ideal

the coast around Newcastle - Whitley bay, tynemouth, North Shields, even South Shields across the Tyne. Right by the sea and on the Metro for access to Newcastle and the main east coast train line between London and Edinburgh.

KnickerlessParsons · 10/04/2023 18:41

Tenby?

rockingbird · 10/04/2023 18:50

Go to wales, Pembrokeshire way.. absolutely stunning! You'll get more for your buck to!

Tenby?

Exactly.. I did a tour of wales last summer with the kids. It's was absolutely stunning! Tenby was one of my favourites.

LlynTegid · 10/04/2023 18:52

Whatever you consider, visit the place in January or February before committing to anything.

CuriousMama · 10/04/2023 18:57

Saltburn is nice.

I live by the sea but it's not somewhere people flock to. Beautiful walks nearby though.

PicpoulDeMeNay · 10/04/2023 18:57

I was going to say Pembrokeshire too - my favourite place in the world and I intend to move down there once the kids finally fly the nest!

Just a few words of advice.

The East Coast can cold (very) and the winds from the North Sea can be biting.😟

Hunstanton is a dump.

The West Coat is warmer and wetter.🙂

Glasgow has rain nearly every day.

North Wales is full of Scousers

The South Coast has a better climate but you get a whole load of retired folks. Not a problem in itself unless you require NHS services.

Whatisthisanyidea · 10/04/2023 19:10

North Wales is full of Scousers

Why is that an issue? Scousers on the whole are warm and welcoming !

rude

I can't work out whether this post is serious or a piss take.

Why does Hunstanton get singled out? Then a series of random generalisations and exaggerations. Bizarre.

Ilikewinter · 10/04/2023 19:17

Watching with interest!. However the closest location costal location I can move to for work is liverpool, so it looks like i'll be in North Wales with the scousers 😉🤣

AnythingToSay · 10/04/2023 19:20

@Powderandpaint this cracked me up. Assuming it's not a piss-take, where's the sea in Glasgow?

PeonyFairy · 10/04/2023 19:21

Filey, Yorkshire coast. You'd get a 3/4 bed house for that, though not a sea view. Fabulous beach, miles of it.

sidee · 10/04/2023 19:25

The most wonderful area. Rye is utterly charming

I do too
I have the money and I could do it now but just can’t make that leap

fortheloveofflowers · 10/04/2023 19:27

I live in East Sussex. The sea is at the end but of my road and fields the other end.

How incredibly ill mannered. Dreadful thing to say.

They said it was an issue, you’ve all just assumed it is!! It might have been mentioned as a selling point.
