Just come up on BBC News. He was 67.

😢

Absolutely devastating news and really shocking - especially as he's the same age as me and I have only just started living my best life.

I really hope he is up there now having lots of cuddles with Buster and Olga. ♥️

Thats a shame. RIP.
Also shocked that anyone watches the bbc …

Why? It's the national broadcaster, very much watched/ listened to.

It is difficult when someone the same age as us dies......I hope you have many years to live your best life; it's never too late to start.

I don't usually cry when a celebrity dies but I have cried this morning about Paul. He did seem like such a good, funny and kind man, down to earth and who cared so much about animals. The world feels like a dark place at the moment which makes it feel even more of a loss in way, to lose somebody who did so much good and made people laugh so much, like a bright light going out. We need people like him. This is so beyond sad. 67 is far too young to say goodbye.

JadeSeahorse · 29/03/2023 10:15

@Venus7 👍

AppleandSpice · 29/03/2023 10:17

This shook me when I saw the news this morning, I don’t normally get sentimental when a celebrity dies but my heart took a massive nose dive this morning. Such sad news!

longtompot · 29/03/2023 10:25

Such sad news. I wasn't an avid follower of his, but always enjoyed him when I saw him on the telly. I did see him a few times on FTLODs and his absolute love for dogs was very evident. Lots of lovely tributes to him on Twitter. RIP Mr O'Grady, hope you are over that there rainbow bridge with all the dogs🌈

Onlyhope · 29/03/2023 10:37

Christ. We saw him in annie at the weekend. Real shock

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 29/03/2023 10:38

He always stuck up for the underdog in any situation.

Be that 2-legged or 4-legged.

A kind, funny, mischievous man.

RIP Paul O'Grady
AndrexPuppy · 29/03/2023 10:39

Ah, my mother loves him. She’ll be very sad.

A good man, taken too soon, a world without Paul O Grady is just crap. His autobiographies are really good if anyone is interested.

Just so sad to hear this... definitely recommend his autobiographies, as his voice shines through the pages. I love autobiographies and his were definitely my favourites!

SlipSlidinAway · 29/03/2023 10:51

@Elderflower14 - thank you so much for sharing that link. So funny and touching. What a lovely, lovely man.

MelsMoneyTree · 29/03/2023 10:53

I was genuinely shocked when I heard it this morning. 67 seems too young. Sending love and condolences to his husband and loved ones. RIP.

parklimes · 29/03/2023 10:54

What??? No, that's awful.

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 29/03/2023 10:54

@Elderflower14
Wonderful clip. Thanks.

kizzywizz · 29/03/2023 10:56

So very sad to hear this sad news.

It speaks volumes that we are 8 pages into a thread and no-one has had a bad word to say about him, just shows what a truly lovely man he was.

Rest in peace Sir.

Norugratsatall · 29/03/2023 11:02

Another good'un gone, far too young. There was no one quite like him, he's was marvellously unique. My late mum loved him. RIP Paul. 💐

ChangedmynameagainforChristmas · 29/03/2023 11:03

A lovely man. RIP Paul.

LadyEloise1 · 29/03/2023 11:04

My heart gave a wee lurch when I read the sad news this morning.
He just seemed so nice.
He packed so much into his life which ended far too soon. A supremely talented man.
To his family and friends I offer my deepest sympathy.
Suaimhneas Síoraí Air ( in honour of his Irish heritage- Rest in Peace )

mateysmum · 29/03/2023 11:05

This was the first thing I read when I picked up my phone this morning and I was so sad. I've read a couple of his books and they are hilarious, especially about his animals. He could be really cutting but never in a malicious way and had the ability to mix with anybody, from drag queens to the real queen - Camilla. I believe they were genuine friends, brought together by their love of dogs and their work with Battersea. RIP Paul. We're missing you already.

Mistymoonsinastarrysky · 29/03/2023 11:06

So sad, such a genuine, generous and caring man.

StillMedusa · 29/03/2023 11:16

So sad. I loved his autobiographies and his passion for animal rescue.
I hope there is an afterlife and all his dogs, cows and every other animal who found him, are there. He was a lovely man.

jemimapuddlepluck · 29/03/2023 11:22

So sad to hear this. Do you remember Carmine the boxer 😁 always used to make me laugh seeing him with that bonkers dog ❤

Furries · 29/03/2023 11:25

This is such sad news. A talented and caring man, condolences to his family and friends. RIP Paul.
