Just come up on BBC News. He was 67.

😢

A man that loves dogs and does so much for them must be a genuinely lovely soul.
Rip.

BringMeTea · 29/03/2023 07:39

Really sad to hear this. RIP Paul.

flutterbyebaby · 29/03/2023 07:39

A good man, taken too soon, a world without Paul O Grady is just crap. His autobiographies are really good if anyone is interested.

Museya15 · 29/03/2023 07:40

Met him at Battersea, he was a lovely man, had time to chat with everyone. Will be missed.

FlamingoQueen · 29/03/2023 07:41

RIP Paul. So sad and such a shock.

dubyalass · 29/03/2023 07:42

Gutted. Like a PP I loved his Sunday shows with Malcolm - I also live alone and it was like having a friend on the radio but he also made me laugh so many times. Loved FTLOD too. Look up the episode with Tom Hardy. RIP Paul.

Barnowls · 29/03/2023 07:42

Very sad indeed, I thoight he was brilliant as Lily Savage but it was his programmes about Battersea which made me love him - his compassion for people and animals shone through very brightly. RIP Paul.

PartySuziPlease · 29/03/2023 07:42

Absolutely shocked! I only saw him a few days ago dancing on stage S miss hannigan

😢

EscapeTheCastle · 29/03/2023 07:44

I saw him about 20 years ago walking along the pavement in Chelsea. He was a slim and attractive looking man, beautifully dressed, really smart and stylish.

SparkleEgg · 29/03/2023 07:45

Truly sad news

PuttingOnTheKitsch · 29/03/2023 07:47

I absolutely adored his radio show, it was unmissable for me and they clearly loved doing it. An excellent writer too, all his books were must reads.

A life very well lived, but such a sad loss for those who loved him and his work.

QueefQueen80s · 29/03/2023 07:50

He looked so healthy so I'm shocked he went suddenly at 67! But then shocked he had a heart attack previously too so maybe his heart wasn't right. He was so lovely. RIP 😢

OMG12 · 29/03/2023 07:53

I’m not generally affects by celebrities deaths, but I was really sad about this. He seemed a lovely man with a heart of gold. His passion for dogs bore this out.

smartiecake · 29/03/2023 07:55

Such sad news 😢 he seemed like such a genuine lovely man, and hilariously funny and he did such good work for Battersea.

Rest in peace

Queeniewag · 29/03/2023 07:57

Very sad news he seemed the most lovely, genuine warm man. Really very sad to hear this. RIP Paul.

scottishthistle77 · 29/03/2023 03:22

One of those ones that hits really hard, even though I've never met him.

At least he died suddenly and peacefully, so didn't suffer, according to his partner Andre Portasio.

I just did a search on Facebook and there was pictures taken recently of someone meeting him just 5days ago and he was smiling with a drink in his hand. ❤️

I agree OP; this has hit really hard for some reason.

RIP Paul.

NooNakedJacuzziness · 29/03/2023 08:00

I loved his Sunday radio programme too, such a funny man. No one else would play Mrs Mills and Winnifred Attwell !

Peridot1 · 29/03/2023 08:02

Such sad news to wake up to. Genuinely shocked me.

He didn’t want to stop his Radio 2 show but they messed him around wanting him to split with other presenters so he quit and he was about to start a similar Sunday slot on Boom Radio which we was looking forward to.

RainyReadingDay · 29/03/2023 08:03

Very sad news. He was a celebrity that seemed genuinely lovely, talented, kind, and funny. I used to love his Lily Savage act years ago. So funny. He will be much missed.

zen1 · 29/03/2023 08:05

Very sad to read the news this morning. He had such an interesting and full life and seemed a genuinely nice man. RIP

Brunosmumhasnaffallgoingon · 29/03/2023 08:06

Oh that’s so sad 😞

Paloma66 · 29/03/2023 08:08

I'm not shocked as he was open about his ill health and heart issues but I'm very sad. A man who lived life to the full. I loved his Radio 2 show. Such sad news.

Cryingovernothing · 29/03/2023 08:08

I don't generally go in for sentimentality when celebrities die but this one has saddened me. He seemed like a genuinely good egg and someone everyone around him loved. Those kinds of people are hard to replace in life. I hope his husband, family and friends are supporting each other at this time

Strongboat · 29/03/2023 08:09

Oh no! Lovely man.

eosmum · 29/03/2023 08:10

Was so looking forward to seeing him in Annie, just loved his Battersea series and the Sally army one. He’ll be united with his beloved puppers RIP.
