Just come up on BBC News. He was 67.

Such sad news. My Nan loved Paul, we would watch Lily Savage together when I was small and then the Paul O'Grady show when I was older, she loved him and Buster the dog. Many happy memories of her tied up with him. Very sad.

I’m really shocked at the news this morning. Loved watching him on TV, especially at Battersea. .

AndAllOurYesterdays · 29/03/2023 06:22

So sad. Loved him on Radio 2. His relationship with producer Malcolm was lovely to hear and be part of.

Fluffodils · 29/03/2023 06:23

Oh that's sad 😔

Crumpetdisappointment · 29/03/2023 06:26

such a shock to read this,
very sad

blahblahblahandblahsomemore · 29/03/2023 06:34

Oh no, that’s so sad. Seemed such a genuinely lovely man.

BigBunkers · 29/03/2023 06:34

I’m genuinely sad about this. He seemed such a nice man.

LemonDrizzle10 · 29/03/2023 06:35

So sad to hear this news this morning.
Such a funny and kind man. He loved dogs and dogs loved him - dogs know kind people.

devildeepbluesea · 29/03/2023 06:38

Genuinely surprised how much this has upset me. He was such a lovely man.

Fakeplastictrees55 · 29/03/2023 06:38

This was such tragic news to wake up to, 67 really is no age. He seemed such a lovely person and did a lot of work for Battersea, he lived a very interesting life too. RIP

tillytown · 29/03/2023 06:39

Rest in peace Paul. Watching him help look after the dogs in Battersea really showed how kind and sweet he was, he'll be missed

sandgrown · 29/03/2023 06:39

RIP Paul. A very funny man. I loved his relaxed style on the radio

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 29/03/2023 06:42

This is so sad, he was touring as Mrs Hannigan in Annie and I was due to see it later this year. One of the swings has been doing daily rehearsal TikTok's with him.

This really was so unexpected for all of them, it's made me quite sad.

TheCaddieisaBaddie · 29/03/2023 06:44

RIP Paul. So very sad, never met him sadly but you just knew he was warm, genuine, fun - the world has lost someone who brought light and laughter into the everyday struggle. Truly a loss.

Whu · 29/03/2023 06:45

Really sad news. A lovely man.

echt · 29/03/2023 06:49

Gosh this is sad. I remember the Lily Savage days very well. An exceptionally funny man and at 67, way too soon to be gone.

By the long arm of coincidence I'm currently listening to Julian Clary's "Briefs Encountered", superbly narrated by the author and featuring a cameo of Paul O'Grady, plainly done with the greatest affection, and scary accuracy, by Mr. Clary.

Really sad news! He seemed such a genuine guy.

Apparently it was a heart attack, but this isn't confirmed. His poor partner.

I assumed heart attack.
I'm sure he had quite a few heart problems a few years ago.

Very sad news.

Wfhwannabe · 29/03/2023 06:53

Devastated. I love him in everything I saw him in. Thoughts with his family and friends.

Beaverbridge · 29/03/2023 06:54

Feel sad at this news. He was a true one off man. So funny back in the Lily days then wonderful on his Battersea dogs programme. Rip Paul.

Rarar · 29/03/2023 06:56

I never cry but this news has made me sob this morning, RIP Paul, you will be so missed 😢

thebestbirtheraccordingtoDD · 29/03/2023 06:57

This is so sad. He was so great.

OKFinally · 29/03/2023 07:00

My 22 year old DS, just texted me from the gym, that was the reach of the man, we saw him several times in York thirty years ago and I cried with laughter. Sleep well Paul, you worked bloody hard for it.

Kevenstinger · 29/03/2023 07:00

Really sad about this. He was joyful, such compassion and a really lovely way about him

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 29/03/2023 07:00

Oh no that is a shock. Echoing pp’s - he did seem to be a lovely chap.

maddiemookins16mum · 29/03/2023 07:01

He lived very close to me, saw him a few times this year. Such a lovely man.
