How much annual leave do you get from work?

How much do you get and what sector do you work in?

I'm interested in how many people get more than the legal minimum. No other reason than curiosity, most people I know get quite a lot and having a discussion with someone who says most people get the minimum.

I get 26 days plus BHs. I'm a solicitor. My a/l increases with service, but I can't recall how often or what the maximum is!

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 28/03/2023 21:11

32 days AL, plus my birthday off, plus all the bank holidays.

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 28/03/2023 21:12

I get 29 days plus bank holidays, NHS with 5+ years service. In the leave year that starts in April there are 10 bank hols so with a day that I am carrying over I will be able to take 8 weeks off 😁

25 days plus bank holidays- it goes up to 30 after 5 years service.

I’m in a fairly junior position in the third sector, so I think such a generous allowance is pretty unusual.

Tickledtrout · 28/03/2023 21:15

33 plus bh. Local government. 10 years minimum service

Jenala · 28/03/2023 21:15

29 days + bank hols.
It will go up to 30 days plus bank hols when I hit ten years service at the end of this year.
Social worker.

cocksstrideintheevening · 28/03/2023 21:16

25 plus BH and I've bought 5 this year.

Was in my last role for a ridiculous amount of years was on 35 + BH + 5 bought. I just riled them over each year.

LegoLady95 · 28/03/2023 21:16

30 days, plus all bank holidays, plus all days between Xmas and New year and the Tuesday after Easter Monday. Started with 25 plus all the extras, and goes up to 30 after 5 years service.

frostyfeb · 28/03/2023 21:16

33 days plus bh - also 10 years service

ThreeB · 28/03/2023 21:16

shangelawasrobbed · 28/03/2023 21:17

23 days + bank holidays (for full-time staff, pro rata for part-time). Admin staff in a GP surgery. I think we get an extra 3 days after 10 years service.

Goldenboysmum · 28/03/2023 21:17

37 days plus 4 days at Christmas/New year. 38 this year, extra day for the coronation

Also have flexi, so can make up more days.

Work in local government

ComtesseDeSpair · 28/03/2023 21:18

I work in insurance. 27 days plus bank holidays (and an extra day if England wins a major sporting event that year!); but we also get every Friday afternoon from 3pm in August and every afternoon before a bank holiday from 3pm. The latter make a huge difference in terms of being able to get away early for a long weekend or just enjoy a Friday afternoon in the garden in the sun.

addictedtotheflats · 28/03/2023 21:19

33 plus BH. NHS 10 years+

luckystarg · 28/03/2023 21:19

I will average about 35+ bank hols as a result

TheChosenTwo · 28/03/2023 21:19

34 days plus we close between Christmas and new year plus bank holidays.
Same for everyone regardless of time of service.

Spanglybangles · 28/03/2023 21:20

RH1234 · 28/03/2023 21:20

Boxofsockss · 28/03/2023 21:21

Drstrange · 28/03/2023 21:21

SoAndSoSaidSo · 28/03/2023 21:22
