Almost no people Silkie? Book my flight!
Happy Birthday Lemons

NeedToKnow101 · 03/04/2023 17:53

Made a lasagne. Got sweet potato fries out of the freezer to go with them but there was only enough for one small portion. Bit disappointed with that.

MissConductUS · 03/04/2023 18:40

Happy birthday, Lemons! Lovely beach picture. Places to eat by tourist attractions often disappoint.

Silkie, make sure the houses have high speed internet access before you buy one. There's likely a reason if they're paying people to move there. Are they still planning on turning your house into an impromptu schoolhouse?

We're still getting overnight temps below freezing, which is not good for my garden.

Love this thread so much !
My unexciting news...
I bought some heel gel pads to put in my shoe for my poorly foot.

Tried them in my trainers ,but I didn't like how it made the back of my trainer dig in.
So I thought I would try them with my little ankle boots.

Found one....could not for the life of me me the other boot ...

Moved all of ds's junk from hallway around ..and everything...

Move a plastic carrier bag to look under it ...

Low and behold...said boot was in the carrier bag !😄.

I forgot I came home from hospital with a medical boot on, so put obsolete boot in a carrier bag that I always have in my handbag !

Happy birthday Lemons ...amazing view and I am sure your little Ds enjoyed it whatever the food was like .

MissConductUS · 03/04/2023 19:33

bizzey, how do the heel pads feel in your boots? I used to put the gel insole replacements in my running shoes, back in the days when I could run.

My gorgeous boy had six teeth out today. At the vets. 🐕 😄 He's feeling a bit sorry for himself but managed to force down some pilchards for his tea.

MissConductUS · 03/04/2023 21:12

Welcome, @MarshaMelrose, and thanks for your canine dental treatment news. Your poor boy! having one tooth out is bad, I can't imagine six at a time. I hope he had proper pain relief.

I had to google pilchards. We call them sardines in the US.

sproutsandparsnips · 03/04/2023 21:21

Lemons is that Tenby? The rock looks familiar.
Mum I cooked pasta bake and it went down very well. I offered seconds to use it up and couldn't get it out quickly enough!
Luckily there is no Ikea within 50 miles of me......

bizzey · 03/04/2023 21:22

MarshaMelrose ...poor doggy .
But I bet he will feel better once the pain subsides .
Does he have to have special food/diet now ?
Or just no hard chewy things ?

MissConductUS not sure yet.
I naively thought I would put them in my shoe and be miraculously fixed 🤣!

Though I did not take off the sticky back plastic thing to affix them properly as I was not sure what footwear I was going to use.

Think the boots win.
Going to try and go outdoors tomorrow with crutch and see how it goes.

DC and I are away for a few days next week ....our little annual ""holiday" .
Walking, museums ,nice food and wine will be involved so need to build up my stamina and energy levels!

I am the Queen of Laziness...but even I am starting to twitch now 🤣🤣

bizzey · 03/04/2023 21:40

Though dinner tonight was the height of Laziness dinners!

Diced chicken , jar of some Spanish sauce in pan and microwave rice !

As I always say to the DC's ....it is not the best ....but it fills a hole !

TurnedOutOrangesAndLemonsAgain · 03/04/2023 21:50

It was so lovely to see the sun today. I planted some seeds - radishes and lettuces.

Silkierabbit · 03/04/2023 22:39

They said they won't make it a school house MissC but mentioned they would send cahms round every day and could give him a personal assistant round every day and 2 people to take him out. But no school. He hates people round our house and he won't engage with any of these people and I'ld prefer none of them, just want our house for us. I'm being pressured to agree to these people and the 10,000 meetings this entails. Though apparently what happens normally is you get a plan with 50 people in and none of them appear. The issue is as well if these people come and he won't cooperate they'll send him back to hospital. I read someone autistic who had this and just ran from hospital, went abroad, got themselves a job and was fine out of this system. Plus we get the anti-psychotic obsessed psychiatrist back on discharge and the 10,000 LA meetings as well as CETRs and CPAs and ward reviews all of which produce nothing mostly. Well they produce reports full of errors which I then have to correct.

Hope you are OK Prok

bizzey · 03/04/2023 22:46

Silkierrabbit
I obviously have not followed your story as I am new ...but that sounds so stressful.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 04/04/2023 05:10

@Silkierabbit I'd be tempted to run away, too. Your poor DS has been in hospital so long now and it just seems like they keep moving the goalpost.
@sproutsandparsnips what did you put in your pasta bake?

Havoc just meowed when I asked what kitty says. Cuteness to the nth degree. 😍
Havoc had a well-baby appt today with GP. All is good. Went sledding afterward as hills close this weekend. Dinner was risotto using left-over stock from roast chicken Saturday; pork chops; tomato feta salad; and roasted yellow peppers. I was quite pleased how quickly I pulled that one off - the wonders of being motivated by hunger.

HelenaJustina · 04/04/2023 07:17

Happy birthday for yesterday Lemons hope you are having a lovely few days away. The weather yesterday was gorgeous here, though have woken up to a frost this morning.

Wore the DC out with 7hrs in the fresh air with cousins yesterday so that I feel less guilty about working all day today and tomorrow

sproutsandparsnips · 04/04/2023 08:09

Mum it was a basic bolognese sauce mixed with pasta and baked with cheese on the top.
Helena I am just off to work too, leaving dcs and DH at home.

Silkierabbit · 04/04/2023 20:58

Hope you get some time off at Easter Sprouts and Helena

Thanks Havoc and Bizzey Sledging sounds fun Havoc

We have DS home today which is lovely. We have just had an Indian meal, had poppadoms with mango chutney and onion salad, veg korma, rice, peshwari naan and onion bhaji. DS had chicken korma, samosa, rice and naan. He's having a bath.

Floof is very trilly and chatty. He has been sunbathing his tail and getting very excited at long words, he loved DD saying I have bought guacamole do you want some to me and Floof trilled and flew downstairs, he says yes to all food questions.

Booked Holiday Inn for Sunday night. Ward Review and Ct scan for me at hospital tomorrow and DS return. Last day of current meds will be Thursday.

MissConductUS · 04/04/2023 21:13

Havoc, that dinner sounds delicious. MN considers routine well-baby visits to the pediatrician, as we do in North America, to be very odd. There was a thread about this a few weeks ago. We're daft for having them, apparently.

Good luck with your scan tomorrow, Silkie. Cats love to eat. They are also master manipulators in getting what they want to eat.

It's a proper circus in NYC today with the Trump arraignment. Fortunately for DS, he is working from home this week.

halfpasteleven · 04/04/2023 21:39

Silkie, enjoy your DS at home and I hope a solution can be reached as quickly as possible re the schooling. Without the crowded house approach.

I've bought a bigger air fryer. Very happy with it so far..
A contentious issue on MN these days but it's saving me so much time when it comes to dinners so far.

HelenaJustina · 04/04/2023 21:48

Got so much done today, schools run so much more smoothly with no pupils in them! And had an evening adventure with the oldest 3 in Oxford, they got the bus in to meet me from work and we whizzed round a few shops. They claim to have spent a lot of the day in the garden…

Mumtobabyhavoc · 04/04/2023 23:26

@sproutsandparsnips sounds easy and yum! Call me next time you make it? 😋
@Silkierabbit Hoping for a good scan for you. ☺️🙏🤞
@MissConductUS Interesting.... we have well-baby about 6wks/3mos/6mos/12mos/18mos/2yrs. Weight, height, head size all measured and plotted on a graph and GP advises which percentile for each baby is; listens to belly and chest; asks how many words baby says and generally what baby is doing to gauge development; asks about meals/sleep/interests/ does the necessary vaccinations, does autism assessment (ie checks attachment and eye contact); checks and counts teeth, asks about oral hygiene routine and if has been going for routine hygiene checks (mine goes every six months which is part of universal health to age 3); and answers any q's. The doctor is likely screening for more; asked me about a red mark on DC's torso (I hadn't noticed it; likely a rub from climbing). This is all to monitor development and head off any issues that may need specialist referral. I'm quite impressed, actually. It used to be with a paediatrician, but is GP now as the firmer is now specialist only on referral. Sorry for the long post. For the newbies here, I'm in Vancouver, Canada. I'd be very interested in the care in other areas. 🤓

MissConductUS · 04/04/2023 23:39

Mum, our brilliant pediatrician picked up on the fact that DS was language delayed. He was my first, so I wasn't sure what was normal. The fact that it was caught early meant he started getting speech therapy early, which I'm sure put him in much better shape when he started school. I think new mums really benefit from having that type of support.

That's so good!
We're lucky here - but not perfect by a long shot.

Lemonsandlemonade · 05/04/2023 13:04

Yes it is Tenby it was lovely there. I am not a fan of Tenby in the summer because it’s too busy.

Had a really good Italian meal last night.

Hope scan was ok Silkie.

Silkierabbit · 05/04/2023 16:41

Glad you had a lovely time in Tenby Lemons

Just back from scan and it was fine, didn't get a parking fine either.

@Prokupatuscrakedatus I hope you and your DH are both OK and thinking of you both.

Had ward review and taken DS back. Managed to agree we have him for Fri /Sat /Sun/Mon and then Tues /Wed so have him almost all week. But as he's officially under hospital we don't get the crowded house. 😂

The Trump trial looks interesting MissC looks like there's trouble up in Scotland.

Enjoy the air fryer Half

Glad your lo is fine Havoc
