Lend-Lease arms deliveries to Ukraine have not yet begun, β€” Politico

Apologies for the snippyness yesterday, long story, but mea culpa.

With the benefit of some reading around on the subject last night may I be allowed can I have one last bite at the glide bomb sub-topic?

It does appear (from the open press) that the Russian drone/missile strikes on civilian targets are on the wane, generally, odd days aside and/or are being largely defeated by air defences set up around likely targets.

It's quite possible the Russians will have to try something novel, such as glide bombs - they may have the potential to cause casualties on the outskirts of some major cities in eastern Ukraine but how big a problem they could become..don't know, but IMHo won't change the outcome...etc.

A lot of recent interest seems to have been stirred up by statements made by a senior official (military?) a few days back which TBH paints a bit of a frankly disturbing picture of the Uke AF not having air Superiority over parts of eastern Ukraine other than over the population centres...first time I've seen hints of that being the case.

The official's suggested solution is (of course) AiM -120 equipped F-16s.....

So are there grounds for some concerns? Yes.

Is it also possible the concerns are being amplified to keep pressure on the west?

Yes.

..and it's back to "we will see"....
