PS to earlier post

DH has reminded me of the day we did the 'after you, no after you' dance in our local Lidl with Gloria Hunniford and then bumped into her again in Currys a couple of hours later (she lives near us). She recognised us and DH asked her if she was stalking him. She was very nice.

And not queuing, but I did step backwards in the bar when we went to see Ultravox. I turned round to apologise and only when I saw my brother's jaw drop did I realise it was Phil Lynott. Tall, dark and very charismatic.

When I worked for my old firm I met Michael Ball, he was very pleasant. I also bumped, literally, into Simon and Yasmin Le Bon in reception. I was a huge Duran Duran fan and nearly fell over in shock.

Oh and Debbie McGee in a garage in Henley. She flashed me a beautiful smile.

I saw her a few weeks ago popping into the dry cleaners

CreoQueTodosHagamos · 23/03/2023 13:57

She lives in Shiplake I think. So lovely.

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 23/03/2023 13:58

Yes, David Beckham in Selfridges manchester. He was buying a tiny blue babygrow before Brooklyn was born, god that makes me feel old. He was lovely and chatted to me. I was surprised at how small he was!

Bonjovispjs · 23/03/2023 14:00

Sarah Lancashire in Smiths and Tom Conti in a health food shop.

Unicorn2022 · 23/03/2023 14:03

Stood next to Samuel L Jackson at baggage reclaim at LA airport in 2019.

Stood next to Romesh Ranganatham at the slot machines at Butlins.

Remembered some more, Jude Law in Hamleys, very slender short man, I am 5ft 5 and I think I could have lifted him up and carried him. He seemed nice, quiet. Sat next to Bob Geldof recently on flight to Norway, I didn’t like him.

ClaireEclair · 23/03/2023 14:06

Gordon Brown at Edinburgh airport. He queued with his team along with us normal people and was very polite and smiley to the cabin crew on the plane.

DoraSpenlow · 23/03/2023 14:06

Terry Prachett at Fleet Services.

littlefireseverywhere · 23/03/2023 14:07

Pru Leith in the GP surgery reception.

Jeremy Clarkson in the local pet shop. My old dog licked him.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 23/03/2023 14:08

Angelina Jolie with Maddox in a little shop in Gerrards Cross when she was filming at Pinewood and living locally. She is so tiny I didn't realise it was her until I heard her speak.

Jeremy Kyle in Boots-although see him often. He very much thinks everyone is looking at him.

AngeloMysterioso · 23/03/2023 14:10

I queued for the long drops at Glastonbury behind Louis from One Direction

DuckBushCityLimit · 23/03/2023 14:10

Stephen Merchant in Waitrose. He's very tall.

Lesvacances · 23/03/2023 14:11

Many years ago in the village post office. A vaguely familiar man and then he spoke and I realised it was René ( Gordon Kaye).

Helen Flanagan in the Marks & Spencer food hall. She was buying one of those Valentines meal deals for £20... She kept holding up the items and asking the cashier "ALL THIS for £20??", "Are you sure??" "£20??"... Cashier politely just answered but didn't let on if she recognised her or not.. Just treated her as any other customer. Nobody else around seemed to recognise her either. I got the impression she wanted to be recognised so kept talking just trying to make people look up and recognise her. I could be wrong but this was just the feeling I got.

I had a similar feeling about Sally Dexter, she stood there looking as if she owned B&Q and expected everyone to curtsey to her. She didn't seem very impressed when I didn't swoon.

MrsMitford3 · 23/03/2023 14:14

Mary Berry in Waitrose she also cut me up in traffic

Debbie McGee in The Princess Margaret hospital reception desk. She was very nice

Chelsy Davy at Heathrow (again sooo tiny)

Anne Kirkbride years ago in a department store. Can't remember the character she played but she was in Coronation Street.

She used to shop at my grandmother's florist business (located between Wilmslow and Alderley Edge), as did the gentleman who played the dad of the McDonald family, and the lady who played Audrey!

My friend and I bumped into the man who played Les Battersby, as he was leaving and we entering a pub in rural Cheshire - we said "hello" in surprise, and he responded likewise, but didn't look us in the eyes. I felt a bit bad for disturbing him.

Finally, the guy who plays Steve McDonald's parents lived around the corner from my other grandparents, and I saw him driving in and out of their driveway a few times.

What can you say, you live on the Greater Manchester-Cheshire border, you get to see a lot of Corrie actors and football WAGS!

Richard E. Grant at Waitrose and at Barclay's. They offered to open a counter just for him at the bank and he refused.

Axel Scheffler (Gruffalo Artist) at the bus stop when we were both going to the same event.

I'm glad he refused. This is why some celebs are bellends when they are given special treatment

I knew I had forgotten something -
The entire cast & crew of Little Britain waiting to get back into a hotel I was also staying in after a fire alarm and evacuation. It was a long, dark and wet night and they all went back in before anyone else.

My dh at Leeds Marriott had to vacate the hotel at midnight because Warren Mitchell had come back from performing at the Yorkshire playhouse and decided to make toast in his room, setting off the smoke alarms.
