A question for Bake Off lovers - who would you have chosen as a presenter

My family love GBBO and we’re a bit unsure about AH as the new replacement. We don’t know who we would have chosen though. Mel & Sue were our favourites, we liked Sandi as well.

Who would you have chosen?

Why can’t you put her full name?

BabychamGlass · 17/03/2023 21:07

Alison Hammond, right up her straße

saveforthat · 17/03/2023 21:08

Someone on another thread suggested Dawn French. Id be happy with Dawn.

I think Alison Hammond is a great choice. Alan Carr would have been good too..

ceecee32 · 17/03/2023 21:09

I don't know why they need two presenters to be honest

bumblefeline · 17/03/2023 21:10

Alison Hammond will be good I think. Other than that maybe Paul Merton, Susan Calman?

EspeciallyDedicated · 17/03/2023 21:10

Stacey Solomon for me but Dawn French is a good suggestion. I quite like Alison Hammond so will watch with interest.

LucyLeave · 17/03/2023 21:11

Alison Hammond. Bubbly, lively and warm.

WandaWonder · 17/03/2023 21:12

Stephen Fry

Tbh...we stopped watching GBBO as it seemed more about the presenters dicking around than the baking.

So really... somebody who doesn't want to be centre of attention!

Clioma · 17/03/2023 21:14

Jenny Eclair.

bellac11 · 17/03/2023 21:14

I like her and think she'll be great

I dont know why people keep suggesting Dawn French, she isnt that funny, certainly not outside of a comedy show.

BorisJohnsonsHair · 17/03/2023 21:15

Someone a bit more serious and subtly funny.

WeeMadArthur1 · 17/03/2023 21:16

I think Alison Hammond is a good choice, I can see her having a good balance of empathy and humour. I love Noel Fielding but have never thought he was right for bake off. Alison could probably do it on her own.

Would really like it if they got rid of Paul and all the fawning over the handshakes.

gingersnappz · 17/03/2023 21:19

They've just announced it's Alison Hammond haven't they?

gingersnappz · 17/03/2023 21:19

Ignore me! Thought the initials referred to Amanda Holden!

lollipoprainbow · 17/03/2023 21:19

Ellie Taylor

DojaPhat · 17/03/2023 21:20

I really struggle to understand why Alison Hammond has provoked such backlash. It's such a mystery and I can't think why it is. I suppose it's just one of those things really.

Rummikub · 17/03/2023 21:23

I think it’s a great choice when I heard.

With Rylan would be good.

LittleFingerStrength · 17/03/2023 21:25

I may give it a go now Alison is joining.

I prefered the shades and pace of the BBC. It felt like a relaxing Sunday. The bight hyper Ch4 version feels like a Friday night rave.

Riverlee · 17/03/2023 21:26

I think Alison Hammond will be too dominating. Fern Britton would be an obvious choice for me, or Ruth Langford.

I can't stand Fake Stacey.

RoysSisterShireeSauce · 17/03/2023 21:27

I love Alison as a presenter, personally I think she’s too fun and lively for gbo.
